6 Other Superhero Growers

Once upon a time, I wrote a List of Six about other superhero shrinkers because it fit with the release of the Ant-Man and the Wasp movie. Well this week will see the release of Godzilla: King of the Monsters and I wanted to do something big! So here’s a nice companion piece about other comic book characters who can grow as big as Godzilla!

Growers List 01

That’s the money shot

I say ‘other’ because I’m discounting Giant-Man and the Atom, the two most well-known growers in comics. Everybody knows those two, and all the Ant-Man/Yellowjacket/Wasp/Stature equivalents. I wanted to spotlight the other growing comic book characters! It’s also in minor celebration of writer Leah Williams’ Giant-Man comic book series, which sees a new issue this week!

Join me after the jump for the lesser known embiggening superheroes!

My 6 Favorite Vehicle Characters

Want to hear something weird about me? I like sentient vehicle characters. But not like the Pixar film Cars, where all the characters are sentient vehicles. I mean fictional worlds where everybody is normal, it’s just that their mode of transportation is also a character in their own right, with personality and sentience. It’s just one of those tropes that I really like.

Vehicle Characters 01

Nightboat, the crime-solving boat!

I don’t particularly know the origin of this interest, other than some of the specific characters on this list. I liked these characters and my interest just grew. I can also still remember reading some kids books about Johnny Tractor and Corny CornPicker when I was a kid. Now those were the bee’s knees! And then across movies, comics and cartoons, I loved a lot more!

Join me after the jump for my personal indulgence in this weird but lovable fictional trope!

6 Things I Want to See in a Nova Movie

The internet being what it is, rumors have started to percolate that Marvel is planning a movie about Nova, the Human Rocket. There is absolutely no confirmation of this. But I think I saw a Nova movie as a possibility mentioned on at least two different websites, so that prompted me to think up a list of everything I’d like to see in a Nova movie! That is how the internet works for me, after all.

Nova Wanna See 01

It’s not human rocket science

I fell hard for Nova during Annihilation, as I’m sure many people did. I had zero interest in the character during his New Warriors days or anything before Annihilation. But then Marvel turned that teenage nobody into a champion of space! He was a young but grizzled hero trying to hold together an army of cosmic cameos to repel an otherworldly invasion. Nova was just damn cool. And a Nova movie could be a lot of fun, especially with the Nova Corps already established in the MCU.

Join me after the jump for what characters, concepts and stories I’d like to see in a Marvel Nova movie!

Top 6 “Gold” Superheroes

What do you do when you can’t think of a good Pokemon themed List of Six to go along with the release of Detective Pikachu this week? You fall back on one of your own gimmicks and hope it’s good enough! That’s right, everybody! My lack of creative thinking this week has us falling back into the joys of a color theme List!

We did silver superheroes last time, so how about gold?

Gold List 01

I don’t own any gold. It would be nice to be rich, but I’m just a poor blogger and nobody loves me. But I’ve got comic books and I’ve got a bunch of nifty List of Six ideas! Like, isn’t it weird that some superheroes add a color to their code name to make it unique? Happens a lot! There’s my Silver List, my Blue List, my Green List and my Red List! It’s weird how often this happens!

Join me after the jump for the best comic book characters with the word ‘gold’ in their name.

6 Thoughts on Avengers: Endgame

Ten years have come and gone in the blink of an eye. I can still remember the events surrounding that original Iron Man film in 2008, and my going to see it at the midnight release. I can still remember the popularity of that first trailer, and the Onion article mocking that popularity. Oh how far we’ve come, and how how great the journey has been!

I loved Avengers: Endgame 3000.

Av Endgame Review 08

Movie Rating: 10/10 – Fantastic

I have a feeling my thoughts on this film might change as time goes on. I viewed Infinity War a bit more harshly last year than I eventually settled on, and I mellowed out more on Black Panther. The same could happen here. But having seen Avengers: Endgame twice in the opening weekend, I’m very pleased with the film and everything it had to offer. It’s not perfect, and I’ve got some nitpicks, but overall it was everything we could have wanted from the Infinity Saga finale.

Join me after the jump for my full review and thoughts on Avengers: Endgame. Be warned that this article contains FULL SPOILERS and assumes you’ve seen the movie.
