Harley Quinn is Getting a Birds of Prey Inspired Comic!
I was a huge fan of the Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti run on the Harley Quinn comic a few years ago. I haven’t been following Harley’s story since then, so I don’t know what she’s been up to. But now we know that Conner and Palmiotti are coming back to the character for a new Black Label mini-series next year, teaming up Harley with her Birds of Prey movie co-stars!
Harley Quinn and the Birds of Prey comes out in February!
The most exciting news of all is that Conner will be doing interior art! That’s all I ever wanted for her original run on Harley Quinn. Conner is one of my all-time favorite comic book artists, and having her do interiors will be a dream come true.
I am legit excited about this comic and I hope you are too!

Just a Bunch of Trailers!
Joker was not good. That’s not fair. It’s probably a really well made, well acted film and a lot of people will think it’s good. But it’s not for me, it’s not my kind of movie. It’s dark, ugly and severely misanthropic. No thanks.
So how about we look forward to other movies and TV shows?! New York Comic-Con is in full effect and a whole bunch of new trailers are coming out!
Like HBO’s His Dark Materials show. I never read the books and barely remember The Golden Compass movie from a few years ago, so this trailer looks really bonkers to me! Hopefully good bonkers.
Then we’ve got this new war movie, 1917, coming out before the end of the year. This one looks to be pretty darn fantastic.
There’s no trailer yet for Ryan Reynolds’ new movie, Free Guy, about a random bank employee who realizes he’s an NPC in a video game. But there’s this funny ‘meet the cast’ video. Reynolds and Taika Waititi are hilarious together!
It’s nice that they finally get to work together.

Send in the Clowns
It’s Joker time! I’m going to head out and see the movie after work today. As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve never really cared about the Joker as a character, so I’m not particularly excited for this film. But I’m hoping it’s good!
What’s definitely good is the 1960s Batman movie, starring the Joker! Honestly!
I was a huge fan of the original live action Batman TV show growing up. That was good, silly fun. I haven’t seen this movie in awhile, and I doubt it holds up by today’s standards, but it’s perfect fodder for Honest Trailers to take down a notch!
Also, Robin doesn’t suck!

The 6 Bestest Jesters in Comics
The Joker movie comes out this weekend! But there’s a problem: I already did a List of Six about comic book clowns who aren’t the Joker. So what am I supposed to do now? How about the next best thing to clowns: jesters! Sure enough, there are a bunch of comic book jesters!
Were jesters real? Does anybody know? Obviously they exist in pop culture depictions of castles and kingdoms. But were they historically real? That sounds like a really fun Wiki Wormhole. Anyway, there are a bunch of jester-themed comic book characters, so let’s count them down in celebration of the Joker!
Join me after the jump for the six best jesters in comics!
The Harley Quinn Movie is Coming!
For some reason, DC and Warner Bros. have decided to call the Harley Quinn movie Birds of Prey. There’s also a subtitle of “and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn”. Honestly, I kind of like that long title. But based on this first full trailer, the movie probably should have just been called “Harley Quinn”.
I couldn’t even tell you who anyone else is in this trailer. I think Huntress is the one with the crossbow, and I think that’s Black Canary at the microphone, but I’ve got no clue much of anyone else. Ewan MacGregor is playing Black Mask, but the movie doesn’t tell me that.
It’s still a solid trailer, showing off Harley Quinn in all her wacky glory. Her style is a little too tacky for my tastes, but that’s probably the point. I think this movie has a chance to do some real good.
Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn comes out on Feb. 7.
