They’re Gonna Follow Up on that Adam Warlock Teaser from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Good news, everybody! Remember when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 had a handful of mid and post-credits scenes, and one of them teased Adam Warlock? Turns out Marvel and James Gunn are definitely going to follow up on that teaser and bring Adam Warlock into Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3!

And he’s gonna be played by Will Poulter. Good for him.

But don’t take my word for it. James Gunn himself confirmed the news on Twitter, after Deadline broke the story. So yeah, Will Poulter as Adam Warlock.

OK. Fine by me. I don’t have opinions on either the person or the character. But you’re damn right I trust James Gunn.

I’m Finally Getting Hyped for Dune

I have been skeptical about the upcoming Dune movie in the past. I never read the book and if I ever saw the original TV mini-series, I don’t remember. But after some positive reactions to Dune‘s international release, I’m getting excited for this movie.

I think I have a handle on what the trailers have been telling me now. It looks exciting. It looks big. I’m definitely going to see this one in theaters. And I really am hoping for the best!

Dune comes to theaters and HBO Max on Oct. 22.

Let’s All Take a Trip to Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City

I loved the Resident Evil games when I was a kid, and it looks like those early games are going to be the focus of the new movie reboot. As we all know, the Resident Evil movie series was only loosely connected to the games and served more as a way to keep giving Mila Jovovich some work. Well the new film, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is going back to the games with a simultaneous adaptation of the first and second Residents Evil.

I am very cautiously optimistic about this movie. On the one hand, I loved those first two Resident Evil games and would love a more direct adaptation. On the other hand, this looks to be a very cheaply made movie trying to cash in on the name brand, which isn’t so hot these days.

But maybe we’ll get lucky and Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City will be good. It comes to theaters on Nov. 24.

6 Thoughts on Venom: Let There Be Carnage

We are now living in a world where the Venom sequel might just top most of the major Marvel Studios movie releases this year. Venom: Let There Be Carnage exploded at the opening weekend box office, earning more than $90 million, beating the three day opening weekend totals of both Black Widow and Shang-Chi. Granted, these are pandemic numbers, but still! Venom 2 is apparently a popular movie!

Movie Rating: 6/10 – Pretty Good

I saw Venom: Let There Be Carnage opening night, because that’s how I roll with most superhero movies. I was a lukewarm fan of the first film, finding it to be a rather dumb affair, held aloft solely by the insane fun of Tom Hardy’s dual lead performances. The sequel brings all of that back, while also finally bringing Carnage into a live action movie. Fans have been waiting for Carnage for a very long time. Did he live up to the hype?

Join me after the jump for my thoughts and review of Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Expect FULL SPOILERS for the movie. And feel free to share your own thoughts on the film in the comments!

Encanto Looks Pretty Magical

The next Disney animated movie is Encanto, a story about a magical house and the magical family that lives inside — if by “magical” we mean they each have a super-power. But hey, lots of people get their super powers through magic, so who am I to judge? Check out the first full trailer.

Looks pretty great to me! Wonderful animation, some good humor, lots of impressive visuals. This should be another Disney animated treat!

Encanto comes to theaters on Nov. 24.
