A Runaways TV Show is Apparently Totally Happening!
To the surprise of a lot of people, Marvel randomly and apropos of nothing announced the casting of the upcoming Runaways TV show! It’s going to be on Hulu, apparently! And Marvel being awesome, seems like they’re casting the Runaways as comics accurately as they can! All the characters are here!

This is really happening!
From left to right, we’ve got Rhenzy Feliz as Alex Wilder, Lyrica Okano as Nico Minoru, Virginia Gardner as Karolina Dean, Ariela Barer as Gert Yorkes, Gregg Sulkin as Chase Stein and Allegra Acosta as Molly Hernandez!
I don’t recognize any of these actors, but that shouldn’t be too scary. If Marvel trusts them then I totally trust them!
You can read a better description of all the characters, and some of the actors’ credits, at the Marvel announcement article.
Also, Runaways creator Brian K. Vaughn will be an executive consultant on the show, so that’s pretty neat. He’s a great writer and has a lot of experience with TV shows.
So yeah, this is pretty neat. I look forward to the show whenever it premieres. And personally, I hope that Marvel somehow keeps the Minoru family continuity from the Doctor Strange movie. That would just be insanely cool.
Oh, also, Marvel casted Cloak and Dagger a few days ago too. So clearly somebody’s burning the midnight oil in the TV division.

Marvel Desperate to Make Cyclops Evil
It’s Hail Mary pass time in the world of X-Men fighting Inhumans, people. It seems that Marvel has realized that something went wrong in their plan to vilify Cyclops, so they are going to dig in their heels and just shoot for the moon on this one. Do Cyclops’ actions from Death of X not make any sense in connection with Marvel’s recent portrayal of the character? Well too bad, because he’s totally a terrorist, you guys. For sure!
Don’t believe me? Wait until you see what Young Cyclops has to say in the pages of All-New X-Men this week!
This is a topic I’ve written about a lot before, and I think I’m going to make it an ongoing subject, at least through Inhumans vs. X-Men. It’s just weird to see Marvel twist themselves into knots on this subject! It’s like the right hand and left hand have no idea what the other is doing, but both of them dislike Cyclops!

The 6 Best Pig Superheroes Who Have Skin in the Game
The Super Bowl is this weekend and, therefore, I wanted to do a List of Six to mark the occasion. But considering I’ve already done a list of sports-themed superheroes, what was I supposed to do next? I don’t know sports ball!
But I do love me some bacon, ham and pork chops! Which all come from a wonderful, magical animal!

I never cared for Spider-Pig
Get it? Pig superheroes? Footballs are nicknamed ‘pigskin’? It fits. Trust me, it fits. And like most good animals, there’s a healthy number of porcine-based comic book characters. So in honor of all the Super Bowl tailgating parties this weekend, join me after the jump for all the best oinkers!
Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 1/28/17
Comics! I love’em. You love’em! We can’t live without’em! And here’s another big stack of reviews for comics I read this week. Kind of fun how I keep doing this.
Lots of good reading options this week, from Infamous Iron Man to the new Hulk series to my return to the Pink Ranger mini-series. There are so many good comics to choose from these days. Including and especially the new issue of Spider-Woman, which easily wins Comic Book of the Week due to another impressive, emotional issue.
Though I’m not going to lie to you: Spider-Woman #15 is crazier than I could have ever guessed.
I’ve also figured out the worst part about Inhumans vs. X-Men: the unintentional villainy of Ms. Marvel. I’m clearly with the X-Men on this one. The Inhumans are monsters who are comfortable with either killing or deporting every mutant on Earth. Since she’s an Inhuman, Kamala Khan gets drafted into the Inhumans’ side with the new issue, and it’s repugnant. That Kamala would so cheerfully and excitedly join the side in favor of genocide is just wrong. But here we are.
Comic Reviews: Detective Comics #949, Hulk #2, Infamous Iron Man #4, Power Rangers — Pink #6, Prowler #4, Spider-Woman #15, The Dregs #1 and Teen Titans #4.
Marvel is Making a Fancy New Video Game
Considering we live in a world where the Batman: Arkham games were a huge success, I have high hopes for Marvel making a solid superhero video game. They announced a new partnership with Square Enix this morning for The Avengers Project. Check out this completely useless teaser trailer.
So we have no information about the game, other than it’s going to be about the Avengers, possibly reassembling for whatever reason. But the very fact that it could be as good as the Batman: Arkham games has me potentially excited for anything, really.
Here’s to hope!
