6 Thoughts on the Second Season of Daredevil: Born Again (Review)

We do now live in a world where the Daredevil show on Netflix was fully revived into a new show that’s just as good. The world is not such a dark and horrible place…no wait, it definitely still is. But we can now cling to our little pop culture shows and movies had games to find some joy to be had in all the darkness — and finding joy in darkness is maybe one of the themes of Daredevil: Born Again? I dunno.

TV Show Rating: 9/10 – Great

So yeah, season two of Daredevil: Born Again has arrived only a year after the first season, which is a miracle in this day and age. And they’re already working on season three. I watched the episodes week-by-week because I wanted to be part of the zeitgeist, and now I’m doing my roundup review. Am I late to the party? Probably. But I’m not famous enough to get screeners in advance. It’s just little old me, plugging away on this blog still.

Regardless, join me after the jump for my review and thoughts on the second season of Daredevil: Born Again! Expect FULL SPOILERS for the whole season. And feel free to share your own thoughts in the comments below.

I Got Blurbed Again! But They Spelled It Wrong!

Good news, everybody! I have randomly discovered that one of my comic reviews has again been blurbed by Marvel, this time on the back of Volume 1 of Power Man and Iron Fist. I loved that comic, and I’m grateful that Marvel is paying some attention to me.

It’s just that…they spelled my website wrong!

Power Man Cover Blurb 01

Ignore my fingernails

It’s HenchmAn4Hire.com, Marvel! C’mon! I don’t ask for much! Heck, I don’t ask you for anything. I provide these positive reviews free of charge, and am giddy as a school girl that I’m getting recognized. But the least you can do is spell my website right.

I don’t get any warning or alert or notification when Marvel blurbs one of my reviews. I have discovered the Spider-Woman blurb and this new Power Man and Iron Fist blurb purely by chance, because I bought the tpbs. I could be on other tpb covers for all I know! So everybody go check any recent Marvel Comics graphic novels you’ve bought and see if I’m on any more!

Now to get the writers to sign my copies…

6 Thoughts on the Second Season of Luke Cage

Despite a big dip in quality, and despite Disney planning its own streaming service before too long, the Netflix Defenders shows are still going and we got the second season of Luke Cage this past weekend! Seeing as how I’m never going to quit these shows, I binged the whole season over the past few days and want to share my thoughts. Largely, I liked it!

LukeCage2Review 01

TV Rating: 7/10 – Good.

The second season of Luke Cage was a definite upswing from the past few disappointing seasons of the Netflix Defenders shows. It was a solid, enjoyable season with some standout moments and episodes — though not nearly as many as I would have liked. I definitely echo what pretty much every other critic says about these shows: 13 episodes is way too many. Not a single one of these shows has produced a season-long storyline that requires all 13 episodes. It’s weird why they keep trying. Do they really not have any other tricks up their sleeves? Like some entertaining one-off episodes or something?

Regardless, I liked the second season of Luke Cage. Join me after the jump for my full review! Expect FULL SPOILERS for the entire season.

Luke Cage Season 2 Comes Out This Month!

Despite the pretty crummy last bunch of seasons of the Netflix Defenders show, I will never not be excited that a new season is coming. I’m that much of a Marvel fan. So yeah, I’m excited for Luke Cage season 2.

The trailer looks neat. I’m not super excited and I don’t anticipate much of anything, but you best believe I’m gonna watch the heck out of this season!

The show comes out on June 22.

Luke Cage Fights Snakes!

Today, seemingly at random, we got a new trailer for the second season of Luke Cage! We get a full look at the new villain and the possible story, with plenty of style. Can the second season make up for the horrible second half of the first season?

We’ll find out on June 22!

Honestly, I’m a little worried. I haven’t loved a Netflix Defenders show since the first half of Luke Cage‘s first season. Everything else has been…bad to lackluster to merely OK. But I will probably never lose hope that they’ll turn things around.
