My 6 Favorite Sports Teams (And Why)

I don’t care for sports. I don’t watch them. I don’t follow them. I’m a geek. All the knowledge that would go to memorizing sport stats instead goes to knowing X-Men stats. Sports just ain’t my thing and I’m totally fine with that. My mom still thinks I’m OK.

Do the sports! Win the points!

But I do have favorite sports teams. If you were to point at a popular national sport, I could probably definitely name a team I ‘like’ or ‘root for’, as is the proper vernacular. Most people pick their favorite sports teams based on geography or legacy or any number of normal reasons. I’m probably a little bit different.

With baseball winding down and football winding up, I’ve decided to finally put all my cards on the table about me and sports. Join me after the jump to take a gander at my favorite sports teams!

Jurassic World Wasn’t that Great, You Guys

Honestly. It was OK when I saw it, but in hindsight, it’s going downhill.

Honest Trailers nailed it with this video. So many perplexing questions and issues! But a movie like Jurassic World isn’t about logic, darn it! It’s about dinosaurs! Which again begs the question of why there aren’t more dinosaur movies. Does the Jurassic franchise own dinosaurs, or something?

Daredevil Season Teased Like There’s Just No Tomorrow!

Did you hear they’re going to make another season of Daredevil? That’s what they do with hit TV shows! A little mini-trailer arrived at New York Comic-Con this past weekend! Check out the first teases of Elektra and the Punisher.

Good times. Good times. They also aired the first episode of Jessica Jones at Comic-Con, and word has it the show is awesome. So all around, things sound pretty awesome!

Sizzle Reels Show Both Arrow and Flash With Some Sizzle!

Quick, wicked trailers for the new seasons of Arrow and The Flash were shown off at New York Comic-Con this past weekend, and both are pretty neat. We’ve already seen some of these teases in earlier trailers, but there’s still a lot of cool, new stuff.

Flash

Arrow

I saw the first episodes last week, and both were very good. I’m definitely looking forward to the coming seasons. I still kinda miss Roy Harper on Arrow, but we’ll see how Thea steps up as the new Red Arrow. And here’s hoping The Flash can pull off alternate dimensions. That stuff gets pretty tricky.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 10/10/15

O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay! The long national nightmare of Secret Wars is over, and the All-New, All-Different Marvel is upon us! Though, that isn’t exactly accurate. Secret Wars is not yet over, and will actually continue all the way into December. And it’s not a nightmare, I’m actually enjoying it. But the All-New, All-Different Marvel is definitely here in force this week! No longer do we have to rely on tie-ins or Star Wars comics to get our Marvel fix! We’ve got brand new first issues of Amazing Spider-Man, Invincible Iron Man and Doctor Strange, who, I guess, doesn’t deserve an adjective.

Comic Book of the Week goes to the first issue of the new Amazing Spider-Man, which only barely inches past the new Invincible Iron Man. Possibly because it includes the greatest cameo by the Prowler in a decade! Among other goodies.

It gets really good, people

Though this week isn’t all wine and roses. DC has launched their sequel to the henchly-reviled Batman Eternal! And like a pig to the slaughter, I picked that up too…

Comic Reviews: Action Comics #45, Amazing Spider-Man #1, Batman and Robin Eternal #1, Doctor Strange #1 and Invincible Iron Man #1.
