How Ant-Man Should Have Ended!

Let’s keep this Ant-Man train rolling with everyone’s favorite: How It Should Have Ended!

This one was legit funny, and had a pretty solid nitpick about that tank. But once again, it relies a bit too much on the Batman/Superman cafe scene. I realize that the HISHE team loves those little scenes, but man, I’m gonna keep dinging them for it. I want to see them make fun of movies! Not revel in their Batman/Superman running gags. Is that too much to ask?!

The Ant-Man Sequel Will Co-Star the Wasp!

New York Comic-Con is this weekend, and the news has started swirling! First up is the announcement of the Ant-Man sequel, which will arrive on July 6, 2018. The bigger news is that the movie will be called Ant-Man and the Wasp! Evangeline Lilly will get to don her badass costume and help headline a movie! Hopefully this means she’ll also be included in the toyline, right Marvel?

The costumes will probably be better

I’m definitely excited about this. I loved the first Ant-Man, and knowing that a sequel is coming is big news – though I’m probably more excited to see him guest star alongside the other Avengers in next year’s Captain America: Civil War.

The sad news is that the Ant-Man sequel will have some major shake-ups for future Marvel movies. Captain Marvel is getting bumped from November 2018 to March 2019. That’s very disappointing news! I’d rather have that one come first. But also bad is that Black Panther is getting moved ahead to February 2018! Everybody knows that February is a deadzone for new movies! Why would Marvel ever release a movie in February?

Though I have noticed that more studios seem to be putting bigger movies in the January/February zone. The third Kung-Fu Panda is going to come out in that winter period. Surely that’s not expected to bomb, right? Are studios trying to reclaim the winter months?!

The 6 Flattest Characters in Comics

In the grand world of comic book superheroes, one of my favorite super-powers is the ability to turn 2-dimensionally flat. I’ll explain why in a minute. It’s just such a weird, interesting power. Sometimes stretching is involved, sometimes its not. Mostly it’s just about getting totally flat.

Kind of like this!

Some heroes can lift 100 tons! Some can run faster than the speed of sound! Some are really, really good with a bow and arrow! But who cares about all of those fancy, famous superheroes? It’s far more interesting to explore the weird and obscure heroes, those with the power to become flatter than a pancake.

One has to assume it’s a more useful power than it appears.

Power Man and Iron Fist to Get New Comic in the New Year!

Just in time for their respective Netflix shows (or maybe a little early, actually), the Power Man and Iron Fist comic will relaunch next year. Luke Cage and Danny Rand will once again take to the streets as butt kickers, courtesy of writer David F. Walker and artist Sanford Greene. Fast Company got the scoop from Marvel.

Maybe we can hire them

Both writer and artist are black, and both jumped at the chance to work on Power Man and Iron Fist, according to the article. This is a great step forward for diversity behind the scenes in the comic book industry, something I whole-heartedly support. The article has a few more bits of artwork to show off. Greene has a pretty wild style, it seems, but that might be a good thing. There’s not much to say yet about the focus of the series, but it looks like they’ll be taking things back to basics. Sounds good to me!

LEGO Doctor Who Set Revealed!

We all knew this was coming, and the time is finally here! The Doctor Who LEGO set has been revealed! It’s going to hit stores before Christmas – wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

The stuff dreams are made of

The set comes with both the 12th and 11th Doctors, as well as Clara Oswald, a Weeping Angel and two Daleks. It has both the TARDIS and the controlled room of the TARDIS. I think there’s also a fez in there somewhere. It looks pretty darn solid! Though I don’t necessarily think they got Peter Capaldi right. He doesn’t wear a bright purple jacket. They nailed Matt Smith perfectly, but Capaldi doesn’t sit right with me. He looks more like the 1st Doctor.

He’s definitely the 12th, though. It says so on the box. Check out more pictures Here.

But ah well, I’m not going to complain! The model looks great! It’s definitely going to join the Ghostbuster’s Ecto-1 LEGO set as things I must own someday.
