Animated Hulk and Chucky!

I feel behind on following the fine dude at Tell It Animated, so let’s check out a couple of them! The dude found some sponsorship and is now producing even better videos, so good for him!

First up is the Incredible Hulk!

And then Chucky, the killer doll!

Did you know there’s been a whole bunch of Chucky movies lately, all following the same ongoing storyline? I didn’t until I saw this video. Who ever even heard of Cult of Chucky? Anyway, the Chucky movies are getting rebooted, so it don’t matter too much anymore!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 3/2/19

We’re only one week from the Captain Marvel movie! Less than a week, actually. How cool is that? The Marvel Movie Season is about to re-begin!

Pretty standard and all around quality-ish pile of comics this week. There’s good comics like Fantastic Four and Captain America, along with sourish comics like Heroes in Crisis. We’re going to say goodbye soon to West Coast Avengers, and I’m finally digging one of Brian Michael Bendis’ Superman comics. In fact, Comic Book of the Week goes to the new Action Comics for a real humdinger of a cliffhanger!

Bones Surprise 01

Do something, Adam Strange!

Meanwhile, the one Age of X-Man book I was looking forward to finally came out, X-Tremists. It’s fine. First issue doesn’t do much more than set up the premise, with some solid character banter. But there’s nothing too deep, character-wise, which is a shame. The issue just continues to build on what I consider an already very flimsy frame for Age of X-Man. But Leah Williams is a writer I want to keep my eyes on, so I’m gonna stick with this and hope she pulls out something great by the end.

Comic Reviews: Action Comics #1008, Captain America #8, Fantastic Four #7, Heroes in Crisis #6 and West Coast Avengers #8.

I Do Hope Hellboy Has More Dialogue Than Just Quips

With the Captain Marvel movie right around the corner, studios are dropping their big new movie trailers. We had Dark Phoenix yesterday. And today it’s a new Hellboy trailer!

I’m still largely on the fence about this one…maybe. There’s no doubt I’m going to see it, because I go see everything. It’s what I do. But as per this trailer, the new Hellboy only speaks in quips. Weird.

I’m also still not sold on this new guy. He’s no Ron Perlman. Everything else in the movie looks pretty cool, though.

New Dark Phoenix Trailer Promises Another X-Men Movie

Before the X-Men are welcomed back into the comforting bosom of Marvel Studios, they’re going to release one more movie: Dark Phoenix. It’s going to be based on the classic Jean Grey story…which was already the focus of X-Men: The Last Stand. So why not have their last movie just be a re-do of one of their earlier movies?

I kid, I kid ’cause I love. I’m sure Dark Phoenix will be fine. And I’m sure we’ll all remember it as a true classic when Marvel takes over and makes the best X-Men movie of all time.

Pokemon Sword and Shield Is Ultimate Temptation

The next generation of Pokemon games is here! Pokemon Sword and Shield will be released on the Nintendo Switch later this year, marking the very first time a main Pokemon game will come to a console instead of the Nintendo handheld.

Which is the very reason I probably won’t get to play this one.

The video looks great! The graphics, the world, the everything; it looks like the classic Pokemon game, while reveling in the true size and power of a console. It’s everything we Pokemon fans could possibly want!

Except I’m probably not about to shell out $300 for a Nintendo Switch.

Here are the new starters. I think I’m leaning towards the grass starter. Looks like a parrot/monkey hybrid. Though I’ll save my final decision for when I see their final evolutions.

Pokemon Sword Shield 01

Though I’ll probably never get to play.

Look, I thought I’d sworn off consoles years ago by switching to full-time Steam games on PC. Then I went and splurged $400 on a Playstation 4 last year! Now you expect me to spend another $300 on a Nintendo Switch just so that I can play Pokemon Sword and/or Shield?

Granted, there’s a bunch of other Switch games I’d love to play, but I’m not made of money for video game consoles! And granted, I bought both my Nintendo DS and my Nintendo 3DS specifically to play the newly released Pokemon game, and rarely ever played any other handheld games. But I largely regretted spending so much just to play the new Pokemon game.

So no, this isn’t happening. I’m not buying a Nintendo Switch.

Probably.
