Only Leigh Makes Her Triumphant Return to Battle Coronavirus!
I am a huge fan of creator Leigh Lahav and her various cartoons on YouTube. She’s spent the past few years working on some outside projects, but now that quarantine is here, she’s found time to put out another parody video!
I need to hurry up and let coronavirus quarantine fuel my own creative adventures…
Anyway, Only Leigh is great, I love her videos, and now that I’m reminded of her Patreon, I need to seriously consider getting in on that. There are a lot of creators I really enjoy who could use as much support as they can get during this virus crisis.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 3/28/20
These might be my last batch of comic book reviews for the foreseeable future! Diamond Distributors announced this past week that they’re going to shop distributing comics to retailers, and we don’t yet know if any of the major publishers are going to go digital-only during this virus apocalypse. If they do, I’ll be fine, because I read all my comics digitally. But if Marvel, DC and the like shut down all releases…welp, that’s the whole ball game!
Perhaps I’ll start doing reviews of all the tpbs I’ve been catching up on…
Comic Book of the Week goes to the second issue of Force Works 2020 for being the most entertaining comic this week! A lot of comics were just moving the story along, whereas Force Works 2020 was really fun to read with some solid character work.
Meanwhile, speaking of those tpbs, I read through the entire collected edition of Nick Spencer’s Astonishing Ant-Man and it totally held up! Great series. I started on Dennis Hallum’s Cloak and Dagger, and the first tpb was good, solid. But I cannot recommend the latest tpb of Rat Queens, with a whole new creative team. That was a disappointment.
Comic Reviews: Far Sector #5, Force Works 2020 #2, Hellions #1, Legion of Super-Heroes #5, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #49, Wolverine #2 and X-Men #9.
There’s Gonna Be a New TV Show from Justin Roiland!
I’m a longtime Justin Roiland fan. I was there at the beginning, during the House of Cosbys, before YouTube was even a thing! And, of course, I’m a big fan of Rick and Morty. So how exciting to see he’s got his own show coming up on Hulu in May.
Behold, Solar Opposites!
Looks hilarious! I’m pleased to see that new television will continue to come out in this viral apocalypse. Here’s hoping its even a fraction as good as Rick and Morty. Or even House of Cosbys.
Solar Opposites comes out on May 8.

Let’s Brush Up Our Green Lantern Knowledge In These Trying Times
Noah Sterling has been knocking out awesome comic book summaries in his charming animation style for years now, and he just delivered one detailing the history of all the Earth Green Lanterns. It’s fun! And we could all use a bit of fun right now.
I, too, have been wondering what happened to Simon Baz. We haven’t seen him for years!
But I am enjoying Sojourner Mullein in Far Sector! A new issue came out this week and it’s good. Hopefully she gets a chance to really shine going forward.
Who’s your favorite Green Lantern?

6 Other Star Wars Cartoon Characters Who Should Jump to Live Action
The most exciting news in pop culture this past week was the reveal that Rosario Dawson has been cast as a live action Ahsoka Tano for the second season of The Mandalorian! Even if Hollywood was still up and running like normal, this would still be the most exciting news for me! Ahsoka is a great character, Rosario is a great actor, and The Mandalorian is a great show!
So who else should make the jump from cartoon to live action Star Wars?
This is all about synergy. Obviously the Star Wars movies are incredibly popular, but there’s an even bigger world of bonus cartoon and comic material churning away under the Disney umbrella: The Clone Wars, Rebels, Resistance, a whole heck of a lot of Marvel comics, even more novels, and a video game or two. Before this upcoming Ashoka appearance, we already had Saw Gerrera jump from The Clone Wars to Rebels to the film Rogue One. As a Star Wars fan, this sort of thing is thrilling, and I want to see more of it!
As a rule, I’m going to restrict my list to characters who have appeared in Disney products. There are a million Legacy/Expanded Universe characters out there, and Disney is not likely to use them. So I’m going to limit my ideas to six in-Disney-canon Star Wars characters that I want to see make the jump into full-on live action, whether it be in a new film, The Mandalorian or one of the other upcoming live action projects!
Join me after the jump! And feel free to share your hopes and dreams in the comments!
