The Multiple Man Mystery Has Been Solved!
Last July, I set a task to solve a mystery about my favorite comic book character of all time, Multiple Man. Basically, with Multiple Man alive and well again on Krakoa, was he back to the regular, classic Jamie Madrox? Or was he going to operate under the new rules established for dupes while he was dead? When Marvel put out a “Multiple Man” comic starring a dupe, while the real Madrox was dead, they changed the rules so that duplicates could no longer make their own duplicates.
It was a dumb retcon and really grinded my gears.
So I’m very pleased to reveal that the retcon has been done away with in the first issue of X-Corp! Multiple Man is back, and his dupes can make more dupes!
I’ve never been so happy to see Multiple Man get punched in the gun by Monet!
His role in X-Corp is fun and I’m very glad that he’s back in regular ongoing comics again. I very much look forward to his continuing adventures. And I’m very pleased to say that the Multiple Man Mystery I set up for myself has already been solved!

The 6 Most Interesting Dupes of Jamie Madrox The Multiple Man
The day has finally arrived that we fans of Jamie Madrox the Multiple Man have long been waiting for! He’s back in regular, ongoing comics! This day marks the first issue of the new X-Corp series by Tini Howard and Alberto Foche, a series I have long been anticipating as Multiple Man’s proper debut in the Dawn of X-era of X-Men comics!
Multiple Man is my all-time favorite comic book character. And it has been a long many years since he appeared regularly in ongoing comics — since the end of Peter David’s X-Factor in September 2013, in fact. And then he’s been dead for a good long while. But Dawn of X and the Krakoa-era are all about resurrection! Madrox has made multiple appearances here and there over the past two or so years, but X-Corp is now his time to shine! And I’m going to honor his return with a List of Six dedicated to Multiple Man!
Specifically, we’re going to look at some of the more interesting dupes to ever pop out of Jamie Madrox the Multiple Man! Join me after the jump!

It’s happening! Not only did Sony get their Venom movie off the ground a couple years ago, with very positive results. But we are now also getting a movie where Venom fights Carnage! Oh what a world!
It’s mind-boggling that this has become a reality. I was only lukewarm on the Venom movie. The only thing I liked about it was the Eddie Brock/Venom character combination. And Jenny Slate was criminally underused.
But here we are with a sequel! And they’re going full Carnage, like they clearly wanted to do from the beginning. But the origin story is out of the way and now we can just do Carnage! Why not? It’s not like the first movie ruined hard-to-see dark blob symbiotes smashing into each other for the big screen.
I’m excited to see how they pull this off.

Sweet Tooth is Gonna Be A TV Show
We all have dreams. Goals, perhaps. Me personally, I want to be a fiction writer. I’ve wanted to be a fiction writer since I was a young boy. These days, that dream is kind of focused around writing comics. Perhaps you’ve heard me mention Gamer Girl & Vixen before?
But here’s the thing, I kind of suck at making fiction writing happen. I’m just not doing it. I still have the dreams…but man…I dunno. Anyway, all of this is leading up to the trailer for the Sweet Tooth TV show coming out next month on Netflix.
Sweet Tooth is a comic written by Jeff Lemire for DC’s Vertigo imprint. I don’t know Jeff Lemire, though I’m fairly certain I’ve enjoyed his work in the past. I don’t know what he’s made of or what his dreams are. But man, one of his comics has been turned into a TV show for Netflix. As did Mark Millar’s Jupiter’s Legacy this past week. I haven’t read either comic or watched either show, yet. But let’s add that to the dream pile.
Someday I’m gonna write something that’s so awesome it gets optioned for a TV show on Netflix. Hopefully I don’t miss the golden age of pitching shows to Netflix with all my wanton laziness.
Sweet Tooth comes to streaming on June 4.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 5/8/21
I’ve noticed a worrying trend in my reviews lately. I think I’ve started just recapping interesting parts of the issue and then nitpicking the little things to death. That’s no way to read and review comics! So starting this week, I’m going to try to be more substantive in why I like or dislike an issue. I should really dig into these things, such as new issues of Green Lantern and Strange Academy, and the final issue of The Union!
Comic Book of the Week goes to Batman #108 as it solidifies itself as my favorite of the two ongoing Batman comics. This issue really grabbed me as it explained in great detail the point of the Unsanity Collective.
Meanwhile, I read and enjoyed the first issue of Heroes Reborn, the new Big Event from Marvel. As usual, I’m not going to do a full review because I just don’t think these Big Events are worth it anymore. But I like Jason Aaron, I want to see more of Murder Hornet and this could be interesting. The first issue is all set-up, and it’s solid, enjoyable set-up. I’ll definitely be reading more as the event goes on.
