How About Some Rick and Morty Trailer?

Another Monday is here and we’ve got another trailer for the upcoming season of Rick and Morty. I mean, why not? We all love Rick and Morty. It comes out in a month. And it looks pretty fun!

I like Rick and Morty as much as the next person and the glimpses at the new season look great. What else is there to know? What else is there to talk about? They announced the other day that The Vindicators are going to get a spin-off show. That’s neat…except they’re all dead. So…huh?

Look, I gotta head out of town for work this morning and just wanted an easy share. I’ve got something a lot more fun — and tasty! — to post tomorrow! Just you wait!

Rick and Morty returns on June 20!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 5/22/21

So this is a first! I absolutely adored every single comic book I read this week. Sometimes I’m pretty lukewarm on an issue. Sometimes they’re just fine. But hot damn, every comic I read for review this week was a real banger! From the new issue of Nightwing to even Power Rangers! And you know I love me some Runaways and the new Way of X.

Comic Book of the Week goes to Wonder Girl #1 because it has the benefit of both being a first issue and having the artwork of Joelle Jones, which almost seems unfair.

Classic tour bus scene

But seriously, every comic I read this week was a dream. I was this close to awarding every single issue a 9 out of 10, which is pretty much the highest score I give.

Meanwhile, Heroes Reborn continues to be a delight! Jason Aaron seems to be having a blast creating a new Marvel Universe built around the Squadron Supreme. It’s nifty as all heck! Double meanwhile, I just finished Shadow and Bone on Netflix and I can’t recommend it. The show was fine, but it was drowning in YA tropes that near about strangled the life out of anything actually interesting on the show.

Comic Reviews: Nightwing #80, Power Rangers #7, Runaways #36, Way of X #2 and Wonder Girl #1.

A Tiny Look at Loki

The Loki TV show is less than three weeks away and we’re all excited. It’s gonna be a fun show. How do I know? Check out this other trailer! It’s a quick one.

I think there are going to be a lot of surprises in Loki. Storylines, characters, twists; this show is going to be a lot! I also anticipate that it’s going to be very good. I have enjoyed WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, so I am more than ready for more Marvel TV shows!

Here’s Tom Hiddleston hyping it up even more.

I hope he’s excited for this show. I hope it’s a major hit!

Loki arrives on Disney+ on June 9.

The 6 Funkiest Knock-Off M.O.D.O.K.s

Against all odds, the M.O.D.O.K. TV show arrives on Hulu this week! The only survivor of that wave of wacky Hulu shows Marvel TV announced a couple years ago, M.O.D.O.K. looks to be a fun and super-weird family comedy starring Patton Oswalt. It all sounds great to me! And to celebrate, we’re gonna look at some funky M.O.D.O.K.s!

Looks just like Patton Oswalt!

M.O.D.O.K. stands for “Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing”. He’s been around since the late 1960s, a creation of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. And as you can see, he’s this giant head dude in a mechanized chair! Heck, he was the big bad villain in that recent failed Avengers video game. The dude has chops. He’s put in the work over the decades. And a new TV show starring him as a suburban dad sounds like the apex of his career!

Over the years, there have been a ton of knock-off M.O.D.O.K.s in comics. With an acronym for a name, it’s easy to come up with knock-offs. And we’re going to take a look at the best ones! Join me after the jump for some M.O.D.O.K. madness!

The New LEGO Daily Bugle is a Menace to My Wallet!

Be still my geeky heart, LEGO debuted a gigantic Daily Bugle set yesterday! This thing is a beast, with like a dozen mini-figures, multiple settings and just so much going on that the picture I’m posting does not do it justice!

Leap it in a single bound!

Go to the official LEGO site and zoom in on some of these pictures, people. This is a thing of beauty!

Of course, this massive LEGO set is also going to set a person back $300. Will I pay that much for this giant LEGO dreamscape? Maybe…I haven’t decided yet. It comes out on June 1, so I have time to mull it over. The biggest problem is that I don’t have anywhere to display it. I’ve already got LEGO models on the floor in my little apartment because I don’t have table or shelf space anymore.

But this is still beautiful! There’s a bunch of heroes, including Spider-Ham, Daredevil and Miles Morales, and a ton of villains, including most of the original Sinister Six, like Sandman, Doctor Octopus and the likes of both Venom and Carnage. They even through in some anti-heroes like Punisher, Blade and Black Cat! How neat! Plus civilians like J. Jonah Jameson and Robbie Robertson. There’s a Robbie Robertson LEGO!

Behold the fire escape!

A LEGO Marvel set this size opens up a lot of potential going forward. Marvel hasn’t done too great with LEGO in recently years…largely because Marvel doesn’t have a lot of vehicles, and they were staying away from the likes of the X-Men and Fantastic Four for a while for stupid reasons. But perhaps we’ll get a Baxter Building one of these days? I’m holding out for an X-Mansion for damn sure. There’s so much potential for good X-Men LEGO!

Here’s hoping my wallet can survive the experience!
