Who’s Up For Trying to Catch Glass Onion in Theaters?
Knives Out was amazing. I saw it in theaters with high hopes based on the trailers, and even those hopes were blown out of the water by how good it was! So you’re gosh darn right I’m quite pleased that Rian Johnson was given a ton of money by Netflix to make more Benoit Blanc mysteries. Glass Onion looks darn good!
Looks like a fun murder mystery, with a great cast and a really neat lead detective! I’m totally in.
So Glass Onion is coming to Netflix on Dec. 23, which is fine. I can watch it with my family over Christmas, perhaps. But it’s also going to get a limited theatrical release for, like, one week starting on Nov. 23. If that movie is playing anywhere near me, you best believe I’m going to see it in theaters! I can’t wait!

Top 6 Black-Colored Animal Comic Book Characters (Other Than Black Panther)
This week sees the highly anticipated premiere of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever! I’ll be heading to the theater to try to get into the first local showing tomorrow afternoon, and can’t wait to see the big show. And since this blog is all about comic books and superhero movies, I wanted to do something to mark the occasion — and I settled on this really dumb idea.
So hear me out. Black Panther is obviously a cool and popular superhero, but I’ve already done some lists on big cat superheroes. So I thought about how many superheroes exist who are named after colored animals. Red Bee, Crimson Cougar, Yellowjacket, Red Robin; the list goes on and on and there were some good ones. But then I discovered that there are enough black-colored animal comic book characters to make their own list! That’s neat!
So join me after the jump for a whole list of superheroes and villains who are named after the color black and after an animal! Black Panther would obviously top this list, so we’ll leave him out because we already know all about him.

So it’s a random Monday. I’m out of town, but didn’t want to not post anything. So how about sharing this random movie trailer for last week? It’s Troll, coming to Netflix. Looks like a pretty solid monster movie. I wonder if it’s going to be anything like Trollhunter from 2010. That was a fun one!
Yeah, Troll looks like fun. CGI looks good, the B-movie aspects look perfect. Should be a fun watch. Especially since it’s just going to Netflix, and that’ll be an easy watch.
Troll comes out on Dec. 1.

Avatar: The Way of Water Sure is Something
What are we supposed to make out of Avatar: The Way of Water? It’s often been remarked that the first Avatar film, despite being the highest grossing movie of all time, has absolutely zero cultural impact. We all recognize those tall, blue aliens, but do they mean anything to us? Do we remember any of their names? Or their lore? I think their only real impact was kicking off an era of horrible, forced 3D in movies.
Will The Way of Water lead to a resurgence of that horror? I guess we’ll find out!
The trailer looks great, so at least there’s that. But then I’m a dummy who can’t really tell the difference between very good CGI and great CGI. So yeah, it all looks great. It all looks pretty. But we don’t really know the story yet. Is it going to be as predictable and done-before as the first Avatar movie? Are the water Na’vi gonna be able to carry a movie?
We’ll find out when Avatar: The Way of Water comes to theaters on Dec. 16.

Happy Halloween, Re-Animated!
Happy Halloween, everybody! This is my favorite holiday. I love the pageantry of Halloween. I love that we as a society, through years of tradition and fun, created a night where children dress up in fun costumes and go door-to-door asking for free candy with a magic code phrase. It’s insane and awesome and silly.
To celebrate the holiday, our good friend at Tell It Animated has updated their Michael Myers video to include the new trilogy! I very much disliked the new trilogy and am glad it’s over, but at least we get this fun video. Spoilers for the new trilogy, by the way.
Fun times! I will always share Tell It Animated videos because they look like both a lot of work and a labor of love! And it will continue to give me the chance to recommend he do Robin next! Plenty of Robins to choose from!
