If We’re Going to Have Spider-Man Again, Let It Be Miles Morales
Peter Parker has had his chance on the big screen, and he’s done an amazing job. But when Spider-Man debuts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe next year, it should be Miles Morales behind the webs.
It’s time to try something new with Spider-Man, and this deal between Marvel Studios and SONY is the perfect opportunity to make the change. Granted, I don’t necessarily think this has a chance of happening, but the only way it will happen is if enough voices cry out for Miles.
In the end, SONY still has creative control over Spider-Man going forward, and they don’t care about how innovative and forward-thinking Miles would be for the movies. All SONY cares about is money, and keeping the straight, white guy in the lead guarantees more money than the black, Hispanic youngster. That’s just how the world works…or at least that’s how they think it works.
But man, how cool would it be to get Miles Morales on the big screen?
Join me after the jump to find out why!
Quicksilver Solves Everything
How X-Men: Days of Future Past Should Have Ended…
Man, they switched over to the Batman/Superman diner stuff pretty quickly, but at least they went back to the actual movie this time. And those were definitely some better ways that X-Men: Days of Future Past should have ended. I bet there’s a very vocal section of their fanbase that just demand more Batman/Superman diner scenes.

Professor Snape is More Tragic Than We Ever Realized
This video was originally posted more than a year ago, but it’s only now making waves on the Internet. I watched it the other day and it brought tears to my eyes, so I definitely wanted to share it with the rest of you. Surely a bunch of you are Harry Potter fans, right? This video is all of the important Professor Snape scenes in chronological order, set to some moody music, detailing the life and tragedy that was Severus Snape.
All credit goes to Youtuber kcawesome13, who has quickly become an Internet sensation for this video. It’s just so haunting and brilliant.
Also, major shout out to my dad, who loved the Harry Potter books just as much as the rest of us and turned me on to the secret that Snape was actually a good guy long before he ‘killed’ Dumbledore. That guy’s theories really made me think.

The Spider-Man/Marvel Movie Deal is Finally Happening!
Apparently this news hit super late last night, after I’d already gone to bed. So believe me when I say this is a good start to my day! Marvel Studios and SONY Entertainment have finally reached an official deal for Spider-Man to start appearing in Marvel movies, and for the Marvel production team to help SONY make their next Spidey flick.
What this means is that Spider-Man is going to appear in Captain America: Civil War, and then possibly future Marvel movies. And when SONY releases their next solo Spider-Man film in 2017, Marvel’s producers are going to have a hand in it, and it will also tie into the larger cinematic universe. They’re going to find a new actor to play Spider-Man, and this pushes a few of Marvel’s other movies back to later release dates.
You can read the full press release here.
Personally, I think this is cool news, but hardly necessary. The Marvel Cinematic Universe was getting along just fine without Spider-Man, and has a lot of big, exciting movies planned. As much fun as a Spider-Man cameo in Civil War is going to be, I wouldn’t want him overshadowing their plans for Black Panther in that film. And I am far far more interested in the Ant-Man, Black Panther, Dr. Strange and Captain Marvel movies than I am about yet another solo Spidey movie (even though I loved both Amazing Spider-Man films).
Plus I’m perfectly happy with Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, I thought he was great in the role. I would prefer Marvel and SONY just conscript the two Amazing Spider-Man films into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and go from there. Those films definitely fit the Marvel aesthetic. And Garfield could hold his own against Robert Downey Jr. and the others. My only request is that Marvel convince SONY to drop that ‘secret dad’ subplot that the Amazing films were obsessed with.
So what do you henchies think? Is this good, bad or are you indifferent? Sound off in the comments!

Lord of the Rings Finally Explained!
The Internet can be so helpful sometimes!
Thanks, CGP Grey, that was a load of help. I’ve never read any of Tolkien’s books, but I love The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy, and quite honestly, I suppose I don’t really know why the One Ring is the way it is. This video really helped clear everything up in the way that only the Internet can.
He’s also got a second video detailing the origins of the various races of Middle Earth!
