New Justice League Cartoon Looks Pretty Neat
There’s going to be a new Justice League cartoon, and I’m always on board for new and exciting cartoons. I’m not a kid anymore, sure, but so what? I like cartoons. You wanna fight about it?
Anyway, it looks funny, and the animation is really cool.
No sign of Robin, though, which is what we’re all concerned about.

The First Look at LEGO Movie Robin is Not Encouraging
Your favorite sidekick and mine will debut and star in the upcoming LEGO Batman Movie next February. Seeing as how I’m a huge Robin fan, I’m very excited. But knowing how Robin is typically treated in pop culture, I’m also very worried. These first pictures, revealed by USA Today, have me more worried than excited.
Sparkly cape? Big googly eyes? Probably pixie boots? Eh.
Robin will be voiced by Michael Cera, which is fine, I suppose. According to director Chris McKay, Robin starts out as an annoyance to Batman’s lone vigilante style. Batman accidentally adopts him during a charity auction. He describes the character thusly:
“Robin is a super-positive kid who always sees the glass as half full. Really, at the end of the day, he just wants a hug. Michael brings the sweetness and honesty.”
So I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. There should be a new trailer debuting at some point during Comic-Con!

Here’s Some Star Wars Stuff to Enjoy
Did you hear they’re making another Star Wars?
So the big Star Wars Celebration event went down in England over the weekend, with all manner of cool news from the new season of Rebels and the upcoming film, Rogue One. Obviously, I didn’t attend, but the Internet is always on the up and up about this sort of thing. We can enjoy the fruits of Celebration without having to actually go!
For example, here’s the new trailer for Star Wars: Rebels season 3! It’s a fine show. Nothing spectacular. Though I did enjoy the season 2 finale.
And while they haven’t released the new trailer for Rogue One just yet, here’s a nifty behind the scenes semi-trailer they put out.
Looks like a quality adventure! Here’s hoping Star Wars continues to be awesome and enjoyable in the years ahead.

6 Pop Culture Characters I Love For No Particular Reason
I think this blog is testament to the fact that I am a pop culture aficionado. I love movies, TV shows, books, comics, video games and all manner of storytelling and fiction. I hope to be a fiction writer myself some day, and am even working on my own comic book. And like all good people of this Earth, I have my favorite characters in my favorite media.
But sometimes, those favorites don’t make much sense.
Leonardo is my favorite Ninja Turtle because of his noble spirit and badass katana blades. The Green Ranger is my favorite Power Ranger because he was this cool, rebellious sixth Ranger. Multiple Man is my favorite superhero because I like his sense of humor, and because he was one of the characters who helped usher young Sean into a better understanding of superhero comics. I love Robin the Boy Wonder because I’ve always considered myself more of a sidekick than a leader, especially when compared to some of my more alpha male friends back in my youth.
But there are some characters out there whom I love passionately, but have no legitimate reason why. Join me after the jump to find out who!
Big Hero Six is Still Mostly Cool
Honestly though, I mostly still like it.
Of the recent Disney animated movies, Big Hero Six is not my favorite. But it’s still good, and I can definitely get behind the team-up of Marvel and Disney making movies together. I still wanted an animated Silver Surfer film like this. It would be beyond epic. At least the Screen Junkies are here to tease the movies that do exist.
