The Game of Thrones Spin-Off is Real!
I still find it hard to believe HBO is moving ahead with their Game of Thrones spin-off. But here is the first teaser trailer for House of the Dragon! It looks…fine. It looks like Game of Thrones, only with more Matt Smith, and fewer actual dragons.
I loved Game of Thrones as much as the next person. Heck, I probably liked it more, because I am perfectly content with the final two seasons and the finale of the show. I got no problem with it. Are there complaints to be made? Sure, probably! But I have plugged my ears and closed my eyes to those complaints, and I get to continue living with a perfectly contented finale.
(Seriously, King Bran makes perfect sense to me. As does Arya killing the Night King. And Dany going crazy on King’s Landing. It all works just fine for me, thank you very much.)
But I have no idea what House of the Dragon hopes to accomplish. It’s a prequel, and George R.R. Martin has been very clear about what happens in the past. So…like…what is this show going to be about? Just how the Targaryen family conquers Westeros with their dragons? We already know how that plays out, and we already know what becomes of their dynasty in the future. So why is this show a prequel?
Whatever. I’ll watch it! House of the Dragon comes to HBO sometime next year!

Here’s Another Look at The Nevers
We’re supposed to get the first trailer for The Suicide Squad later today, and I’m definitely sharing that trailer the moment I see it! But until then, the new Joss Whedon HBO show The Nevers also dropped a new trailer this week. Good luck makes heads or tails of what this show is going to be about.
As I understand it, The Nevers is about a bunch of people in Victorian England who develop super-powers and then face the usual backlash from the normies. For all the badness we’re now learning about Joss Whedon these days, we can hopefully at least trust that his work is still enjoyable. I will definitely be checking out a couple episodes.
The Nevers arrives on HBO on April 11.

6 Thoughts on Zack Snyder’s Justice League
We are finally living in a post-Snyder Cut world. Zack Snyder’s Justice League has arrived on HBO and we have all experienced it. I sat down with a buddy of mine and marathoned all four hours in one sitting, because that’s how I roll. I saw it just because it’s a thing to see. I am no #releasetheSnyderCut guy. I think Man of Steel is terrible, and I have grown to dislike Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice more and more. So don’t read this expecting some fawning praise for Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
Movie Rating: 7/10 – Good.
I enjoyed the theatrical cut of Justice League well enough, at least upon seeing it in theaters. I haven’t had any interest in that film since. And I have had no desire to see Zack Snyder get another crack at it. I don’t think he’s a good fit for DC superhero movies. I’m not a hater. I very much adore 300 and Watchmen. I just haven’t enjoyed his take on Superman and the gang. And I never cared for the bullies that kicked off the #releasetheSnyderCut movement. I view this actual Snyder Cut as Warner Bros. grasping at straws to have some kind of draw to HBO Max.
But I watched Zack Snyder’s Justice League. I enjoyed it. It’s fine. And now I’m glad it’s behind me. Join me after the jump for my thoughts on the beast of a film. Expect FULL SPOILERS for the movie.

Does anybody else watch Infinity Train? This show is great! It’s jumped from Cartoon Network to HBO Max, which is fine by me, because that allowed for another season or two. The fourth season is coming up in mid-April. And, as always, it stars a new cast.
Looks good to me! I love this show. I’ve loved it since it only existed as a singular “pilot” on YouTube. It’s smart, funny, creative and just plain neat. If you have HBO Max, I highly recommend Infinity Train. It’s a great show!
