The Only Things I Care About in X-Men: Disassembled

OK, so we’ve known for a bit now that the Uncanny X-Men title was coming back to print this fall. As I’ve mentioned before on this blog, Marvel loves relaunching the X-Men with an entirely new status quo every two years or so. I call it the X-Men Assembly Line. And the next major twist has been announced, kicking off with the 10-part Disassembled.

XMenDisassembled 01

I’m not all that excited by this relaunch, at least not until we know more about what’s going to happen. I like the general idea, at least. I think the X-Men are long overdue for an overhaul. The fat needs to be trimmed, and I hope this Disassembled thing is that fat-trimming.

You can read more about the whole thing at Marvel.

There are three important things to note, at least as far as I’m concerned:

  1. Kelly Thompson is indeed going to be a major player in the X-Men franchise. This is awesome news! She’s the excellent writer behind all the great Rogue & Gambit stuff we’ve been seeing.
  2. The Multiple Man in that picture has the “M” tattoo over his eye. The currently alive Jamie Madrox over in the Multiple Man comic is a dupe who does not have the “M” tattoo over his eye. Could this mean that Jamie Prime will be back by Disassembled? I’m hopeful!
  3. Where the heck is Strong Guy? I have been dutifully on Strong Guy Watch for awhile now, and I’m disappointed that this is a big X-Men group shot and he’s not hiding in the background somewhere! That’s his thing right now!

Whatever happens with Disassembled, I will at least check it out. Hopefully the rest of you are more excited than I am.

I’m Coming to Get You Clementine!

Clementine is my favorite character in The Walking Dead. She’s the star of the TellTale, point-and-click video game adventures. And her final game is coming!

I’m one game behind on The Walking Dead series, but only because Clem wasn’t the lead character in the last one, and that killed my interest. But I’m not going to miss the end of Clem’s journey! I’ve got to get caught up and get ready to save the frickin’ day from zombies!

Red Dead Redemption 2 Looks More and More Gorgeous

A new video has come out detailing the landscape and the gameplay mechanics of Red Dead Redemption 2, and the game appears to be quite breathtaking.

Now I’m even more excited! I can’t wait to get my hands on his game on Oct. 26, and I’m so glad I bought that Playsation 4 a couple months ago to play this! Looks like a game of pure beauty!

Deadpool 2 is Out on DVD Soon, So Here’s the First YouTube Parody Cartoon

Gotta love these fun little videos, and How It Should Have Ended is one of the good ones! Their Deadpool 2 video was apparently written from fan submissions! And some of those are pretty funny.

Except all the parts where it seems like the HISHE crew is just writing their own Deadpool fan fiction. Like, the alternate scenes/endings stuff takes up less than half of the video before they go on an extended riff connected to their Infinity War video. I would congratulate the film for not also falling back on their Superman/Batman cafe scenes, but they make sure to get in an extended Batman riff, too.

Eh, still a fun video to laze about with on a Thursday.

The 6 Coolest Cows in Comic Books

Animals are a major theme when it comes to comic book superheroes. Who doesn’t wish they had the proportionate speed and strength of a spider, amiright? But what about cows? Are there any bovine traits a superhero would want? Probably not! But let’s make this list anyway!

Cow List 01

I spent far too much time working on cow farms in my youth

We’ve looked at cats and dogs in comics before, because those are classic sidekick animals. But a recent art gag in a Marvel Comic sent me on a path of searching for cow characters in comic books! There aren’t many, but I’m pretty sure I’ve complied the Internet’s first list of the best and coolest cows in comic books!

Join me after the jump if you don’t believe me!
