6 Things I Want Added to Red Dead Redemption Online
Once again I find myself lost in the world of Red Dead Redemption 2, easily one of the biggest and best video game I’ve ever played. There have been a lot of good games lately, but Red Dead Redemption 2 is the exactly perfect video game for me — and I am very much enjoying the online multiplayer.
Check out my custom character! I’m Henchman4Hire on Playstation 4!
There’s not much to the multiplayer just yet. It’s really just the big, glorious game world with a bunch of random jobs, playgrounds, mini-games and a couple of story missions. But that’s enough for me. Honestly, I just love existing in this game world. I love the feel of walking around. I love the pedantic stuff. I love trotting my horse through town. I love putting together the perfect outfit. I love this game!
And there are a couple of expansion ideas I hope to see over the next few months and years. The online multiplayer is growing in fits and starts. There’s a big update coming later this summer that will add some professions, like bounty hunter or fur trapper. That should be fun. Rockstar has been updating Grand Theft Auto Online for years now, and surely they will do the same for the cowboy version.
Join me after the jump for six things I personally want to see and experience in future Red Dead Online updates.
The Harley Quinn Cartoon Still Looks Amazing!
Comic-Con gave us a bigger, better and more awesome trailer for the upcoming Harley Quinn cartoon, and it looks phenomenal!
This show looks cool on levels I didn’t even expect. I’m loving the voices. I’m loving the bits of humor we get. I’m loving the Kite Man cameo. I especially love the hint we get at a Harley/Poison Ivy relationship. It’s 2019, they damn well better go full speed ahead into that whole awesomeness.
The show is coming to the DC streaming service later this year, I think.

Behold the New X-Men, Just Like the Old X-Men
The Jonathan Hickman reboot of the X-Men is upon us, with the new line-up of X-Books announced at Comic-Con this past weekend. I’m rather disappointed. I have high hopes for the “Hickboot” and the Powers of X and House of X comics that are going to kick things off, starting this week.
But the reveal of the comics that come after is exactly like every other reveal of new X-Men comics in recent years. I call it the X-Men Assembly Line. It’s where every new relaunch of X-Men comics involves taking a random roster of mutant characters and putting them on random X-based teams.
I guess I was hoping for something new and different this time around. Most of the characters aren’t even getting new costumes.
X-Men
Writer: Jonathan Hickman
Artist: Leinil Francis Yu
Synopsis: The X-Men find themselves in a whole new world of possibility…and things have never been better! Jonathan Hickman and superstar artist Leinil Yu reveal the saga of Cyclops and his hand-picked squad of mutant powerhouses!
New Mutants
Writers: Jonathan Hickman and Ed Brisson
Artist: Rod Reis
Synopsis: The classic New Mutants (Sunspot, Wolfsbane, Mirage, Karma, Magik, and Cypher) get together with a few new friends (Chamber, Mondo) to seek out their missing member and share the good news… a mission that takes them into space alongside the Starjammers!
Excalibur
Writer: Tini Howard
Artist: Marcus To
Synopsis: Mutantkind has always been special…as has their relationship with the world—or WORLDS—around them. As this new era dawns, a new connection forms between mutants and the magic of the world… and that of Otherworld! Can the new Captain Britain forge a new way through the chaos with her companions Rogue, Gambit, Jubilee, Rictor…and Apocalypse?!?
Marauders
Writer: Jerry Duggan
Artist: Matteo Lolli
Synopsis: Even in this glorious new dawn, Mutantkind faces hardships and oppression from their human counterparts. Led by Captain Kate Pryde and funded by Emma Frost and the Hellfire Trading Company, Marauders Storm, Pyro, Bishop and Iceman sail the seas of the world to protect those hated and feared!
Fallen Angels
Writer: Bryan Edward Hill
Artist: Szymon Kudranski
Synopsis: Psylocke finds herself in this new world of Mutantkind unsure of her place in it…but when a face from her past returns only to be killed, she seeks help from others who feel similar to get vengeance. Cable and X-23 join Kwannon for a personal mission that could jeopardize all Mutantkind!
X-Force
Writer: Benjamin Percy
Artist: Joshua Cassara
Synopsis: X-Force is the CIA of the mutant world—one half intelligence branch, one half special ops. Beast, Jean Grey and Sage on one side, Wolverine, Kid Omega and Domino on the other. In a perfect world, there would be no need for an X-Force. We’re not there… yet.
So my general thoughts are that all of these might be fine. I’m going to give them all a try, because I am hope springs eternal for good X-Men comics. But again, it looks like just a random assortment of mutants tossed onto a random assortment of teams, exactly like every X-Men relaunch of the past decade.
I’m also disappointed that there’s no sign of Leah Williams or the Blob — though we do get Pyro, so my brother should be happy. No word yet if it’s original Pyro or new Pyro.
One good thing we do know about the Hickboot is that all of the various mutants killed in the latest Uncanny X-Men relaunch are coming back to life. We don’t know how, or if it will even be addressed. I hope Hickman doesn’t even bother to explain it and they’re all just alive again.
We’ve been promised that both Multiple Man and Strong Guy will show up in the Hickboot, so hopefully their deaths will indeed be undone. And unless someone says otherwise, I’m going to head canon Multiple Man’s resurrection into that of actual Multiple Man, and not the fake Madrox dupe that was a part of the recent Uncanny X-Men stuff.
What do you all think of this X-Men comic lineup? Any comics you’re particularly interested in? Let me know in the comments!

The Future of Marvel Studios is Here!
Last night was the night we’ve all been waiting for! Marvel Studios held their big announcement panel at San Diego Comic-Con and Kevin Feige finally shed light on what comes next for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! I’m excited. You’re excited. How about we just run these down?
First up is confirmation of the Black Widow movie!
Black Widow comes out on May 1, 2020.
Black Widow is the next Marvel movie. It’s something of a prequel, I think. Should be a lot of fun. No trailer yet.
Next up is Eternals.
Eternals comes out on Nov. 5, 2020.
I don’t know much about the Eternals, either the movie or the comic. An all-star cast was announced last night, starring Salma Hayek and Angelina Jolie as the leads. There’s also the great Kumail Nanjiani and the awesome Bryan Tyree Henry, plus a bunch of others I don’t really know. The Eternals are like the Inhumans in that they’re an ancient race of super-powered people, based around the Greek Gods. Could be fun! No word on the gay lead character though.
Then we’ve got Shang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings.
Shang-Chi arrives in theaters on Feb. 12, 2021.
I’m excited for this one because it’s something new. Granted, Eternals is something new, but I don’t care about them on a deeper level. Shang-Chi could be fun. Especially since it’s going to include the Mandarin, the real one, with a possible tie-in to the Ten Rings that were first introduced all the way back in the first Iron Man. That could be some awesome lore to explore!
Also, actor Simu Liu was cast as Shang-Chi. I don’t know anything about him, but I trust Marvel and their casting. This will also, obviously, be the first Asian-led Marvel Studios movie!
The next movie is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
Doctor Strange 2 comes out on May 7, 2021.
This could be good! The director said they’re going for more of a horror movie this time around, which is a genre Marvel hasn’t done yet. I liked the first Doctor Strange film, enjoyed his cameos in the Infinity War films, so this could be a lot of fun.
Last we have Thor: Love and Thunder!
Thor 4 drops on Nov. 5, 2021.
Director Taika Waititi is coming back for Love and Thunder, so I am very happy. Ragnarok was amazing. Chris Hemsworth is returning as Thor, but the biggest surprise of the night was Natalie Portman walking out on stage and revealing that she’ll be playing the Jane Foster version of Thor as well! That’s pretty darn cool! Glad to see that fences were mended and she decided to come back!
Also, Marvel and Tessa Thompson are going to be way more open about Valkyrie being LGBTQ, so that’s awesome.
That’s it for the movie slate, as far as was revealed. But the Marvel panel also touched on a bunch of their upcoming TV shows for the Disney+ streaming service. They confirmed The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which will feature Baron Zemo as the villain. There’s going to be a Loki show starring the Loki that escaped with the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame. Could be fun. WandaVision is going to focus on the Scarlet Witch after the death of the Vision, which could be nuts. She’s also going to cameo in Doctor Strange 2, and an adult Monica Rambeau has been cast to appear, so yay!
What If…? is getting a cartoon playing around with alternate takes on the Marvel movies. Sounds hilarious. And a Hawkeye TV show was confirmed for several years out, in which Jeremy Renner will be training Kate Bishop. So doubly awesome.
The last surprise of the night was announcing actor Mahershala Ali has been cast as a new Blade, possibly for a new Blade movie somewhere down the line! So if, like me, you were disappointed in how he was killed off as Cottonmouth, this is cool news!
Also, Feige announced that they are working on Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Black Panther 2, Captain Marvel 2 and the Fantastic Four, so awesome! No Ant-Man 3 announced, which is too bad. But perhaps Scott Lang deserves his retirement from superheroics, and his daughter can take over in Young Avengers!
The Marvel Studios panel was hype in its purest form. I am excited for all of this news and cannot wait to enjoy my entertainments for years to come! I’m also definitely signing up for Disney+ when it comes out later this year.
What were your thoughts about all the announcements? Let me know in the comments!

My Disney Dream is Alive and Flourishing!
I am a big fan of the DuckTales revival cartoon. I am an especially big fan of the Expanded Disney Cartoon Universe the showrunners seem to be building. I was worried when they made Darkwing Duck a TV show instead of a superhero…but the most recent episode reversed course, introducing Drake Mallard and making him a real superhero inspired by the show.
Well guess what, folks: all my dreams are coming true! Announced at Comic-Con, there’s going to be a whole party bus full of characters joining the fun!

A lot of them appear on my list of characters I wanted to see on DuckTales.
Let’s run them down:
We’ve got Daisy Duck!
Goofy!
Chip & Dale’s Rescue Rangers!
TaleSpin is confirmed there in the upper right corner. Only we’re getting Kit Cloudkicker and Molly Cunningham as older characters than their young selves from the original. That could be neat.
Darkwing Duck is coming back, and alongside him is a new Gosalyn!
Bubba the Caveduck!
Gene the Genie!
And it’s hard to make out in the upper right, but to the left of Bubba is a more realistic looking Butterbear the Wuzzle! The Wuzzles are coming!
So yeah, essentially everything I want from the DuckTales cartoon is coming true. Check out Entertainment Weekly for some close-up shots of some of the characters. And this Reddit thread for even more.
You can also check out this nifty trailer, though not all the characters are featured.
This is turning out to be a very fun Comic-Con for me and all my geeky hopes and dreams!
