That Raunchy Christmas Special You Didn’t Know Was Coming

I am a diner on all manner of modern day cartoons. It’s an interesting landscape, with some bright spots. Hopefully a new, raunchy, stop motion-animated Christmas special will be one of those bright spots. I didn’t even know Santa Inc. was a thing, but here’s a trailer!

It looks fine to me. I like Sarah Silverman. I like Seth Rogen. They want to make a raunchy Santa Claus movie to air on HBO Max? Yeah, sure, I’ll definitely watch. Perhaps it will even be good.

Santa Inc. arrives on Dec. 2.

A Couple Easy Peasy Monday Videos

So it’s Monday. It’s also the last day of my vacation, and Thanksgiving week, where I’ll pretty much be going on a second vacation out of the office as I travel home to hang out at my parents’ house. So honestly, I’m not feeling very workmanlike at the moment.

So how about some easily digestible internet comedy videos?

Like an Honest Trailer for the What If…? TV show!

Or how about How Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings Should Have Ended!

Or even How The Suicide Squad Should Have Ended!

Simple, enjoyable videos, so that if you swing by my blog on this lazy Monday, you’ll have at least something sorta nifty to watch. And that’s what matters the most!

Turning Red Looks Really Good

I am loving the animation on Turning Red, the next film from Pixar. The characters in this movie, especially their faces, just look really neat! I haven’t been a big fan of the most recent Pixar movies, but I will always turn out and hope for the best.

The Hulk but with a little girl and a red panda? Yeah, sure, could be a lot of fun. Turning Red arrives in theaters in March!

6 Modern X-Men I Want to See in the New X-Men ’97

Let that epic theme song roar, the X-Men animated series is coming back! In one of the more shocking announcements from Disney+ Day, Marvel revealed that they are going to revive the original X-Men animated series from the 1990s. I grew up on this series. I was introduced to modern X-Men with this series. It was lifeblood to a young comic geek like me. So I say bring it on!

There are theme songs, and then there are THEME SONGS

The plan is to revive the series and pick up from where it left off. I think it’s a weird choice, but I suppose it makes sense. It’s obviously not the first TV series to do such a thing. And the X-Men’s introduction into the MCU is still undecided. Why make a brand new cartoon from scratch if it’s going to possibly conflict with the MCU X-Men? So X-Men ’97 should be a simple nostalgia trip, using classic comic book stories and characters to keep a show going. And more than two decades of X-Men comics have come and gone since 1997, so who and what are some modern X-characters and concepts I’d like to see?

Join me after the jump for some ideas I would personally love to see translated into the classic cartoon. And please share some of your own in the comments!

Centaurworld and He-Man Are Coming Back!

I am a big fan of cartoons. And we live in a day and age where there are just a metric ton of fun new cartoons coming out every day. I recently finished the first season of Inside Job on Netflix. Have you heard of that one? I’m pretty sure it flew entirely under the radar. But I watched both that and Chicago Party Aunt this fall, both of which are pretty watchable. We are surely living in a post-Rick and Morty cartoon world.

At any rate, all of this build up is to share two fun trailers for upcoming second seasons. First up is Masters of the Universe: Revelations, the follow up to that apparently controversial first season, because the internet breeds nothing but contempt. I liked the first season, and I look forward to the second.

For one thing, that trailer had an appropriate amount of Ram-Man. Season 2 arrives on Nov. 23, so basically a week from now. That’s pretty cool!

Second, we’ve got the trailer for the second season of Centaurworld, which is great, because I didn’t know it was getting a second season. Centaurworld flew so far under the radar that I was really excited about watching it…and yet I still forgot it existed for at least two months. But then I did watch it and I did enjoy it!

Centaurworld season 2 arrives on Dec. 7! So you’ve got plenty of time to watch the first season to be all caught up. We’ve got some great cartoons and shows ahead of us through the end of the year!
