Sure, Zoe Kravitz is the New Catwoman
New casting news has arrived in the form of Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman in the upcoming Batman movie reboot. We’ve already got Robert Pattinson confirmed as Batman, and now Kravtiz as Catwoman!
Fine by me.
I’ve seen Kravitz in a couple of things, but mostly small roles, so I don’t have much of an opinion one way or another. I’m sure she’ll be great!
I think rumor was that Jonah Hill passed on playing the Penguin. Another rumor is that a bunch of villains will be in this film, which is a great way to do it. I’d really like to see this new series of films take a bigger picture approach to making Batman movies. We don’t need a bunch of one-off films that focus on a new villain being introduced and killed. Give us a world like the comics, where Batman exists and his Rogues Gallery exists and this is just another Batman adventure.
Obviously this new world can have its changes, and that’s fine. But we all know everything there is to know about Batman. We don’t need more artsy Batman movies. Give us some fun Batman movies. We all loved it when Ben Affleck was allowed to just cut loose and be Batman. So we don’t need an origin story. We don’t need a villain origin story. Batman: The Animated Series got by for years telling fun stories in an already prepared Batman universe. Let’s do that…but in movies.
Also, give us a Robin. Just have him be there. He doesn’t need an explicitly stated origin story either. We all know the story. But give Batman a cool sidekick. Is that too much to ask?

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 9/14/19
We’ve got a big, fat stack of comics this week, and all of them were good or better! Sometimes I worry that I’m too positive in my comic reviews…but then I remember that I only really read comics I already enjoy. Perhaps I’m a fraud!
Nah, I don’t think that. I’m just a dude giving my thoughts on the comics I like! And hopefully you all enjoy reading. This week we’ve got some real zingers from the likes of Batman, Go Go Power Rangers, Unbeatable Squirrel Girl and much more! Comic Book of the Week goes to the return of Wonder Twins for another perfect issue!
Meanwhile, I am really liking Event Leviathan! It’s a whole mess of Bendis-speaking and not showing, but it involves some interesting characters, an interesting mystery, and some of the best cliffhangers I’ve seen in comics in a long time! It’s like comics forgot how to do a proper cliffhanger, and Bendis is schooling everybody with these twists and surprises!
Comic Reviews: Batman #78, Black Cat #4, Go Go Power Rangers #23, Gwenpool Strikes Back #2, King Thor #1, Powers of X #4, Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #48 and Wonder Twins #7.
Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 12/22/18
Merry Christmas everybody! Or at least in a few days for those of us who celebrate. I’ve got a long weekend of hanging out with family ahead of me, and hopefully some sweet presents!
We had some boffo comic book presents this week, with new issues of Aquaman, Batman, Uncanny X-Men, West Coast Avengers and more! Comic Book of the Week goes to an absolutely delightful Runaways Christmas special!
Meanwhile, how about that Aquaman movie? Was that insanely cool or what? I can’t remember a movie with that level of size and scale, and who actually pulled it off. So much fun! Such madness!
Comic Reviews: Aquaman #43, Batman #61, Catwoman #6, Iceman #4, Runaways #16, Uncanny X-Men #6 and West Coast Avengers #6.
Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 10/13/18
Holy guacamole, people! It’s another week where all of my favorite comics come out at once, delivering another 8 comics in need of review! And that’s if I willingly cut down on some, like finally dropping Superman, and taking a pause on Amazing Spider-Man.
But that just means I can take more time to enjoy the likes of Ms. Marvel, Iceman, Captain America, Power Rangers, Domino and more! Seriously, there are so many more! Comic Book of the Week goes to a hilarious Unbeatable Squirrel Girl for the laugh-out-loud funny funeral. You heard me right.
Meanwhile, the next big comic book event story that I’m skipping is Spider-Geddon. I liked Spider-Verse well enough, but I definitely don’t have any interest in an identical sequel. I realize Spider-Man is hot right now, what with that new video game, and the upcoming animated movie, but this was not the way to capitalize on that. Comic blogs were really hyped this week for what random alternate reality Spider-Men die in the first issue, but oh my god, who the hell cares?!
Comic Reviews: Captain America #4, Catwoman #4, Domino #7, Go Go Power Rangers #13, Iceman #2, Ms. Marvel #35, Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #37 and X-23 #5.
