I Made a Sweet Lightsaber in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
I love Star Wars as much as the next person. I love lightsabers as much as the next person. So I’m more than happy to share this sweet lightsaber I built in the video game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. The game came out earlier this year, and I only just now got around to playing (it was on sale!).
Check this baby out! I’ve been told it looks like a fancy fountain pen, and I’d have to agree.
For me, Jedi: Survivor was just a lightsaber parts collection game. I enjoy these games well enough, but I don’t really care about the characters, I don’t particularly like Cal Kestis and the story was only so-so. But in the first game, and more so in this sequel, there was a huge emphasis on collecting the parts and then crafting your own lightsaber. And I live for that stuff!
I still have fond memories of my family’s last trip to Disneyworld some 10-15 years ago, and walking into some random toy store and finding a build-your-own lightsaber kiddie table. I went straight to work and still have that baby on display in my apartment. And I long to make the pilgrimage to Galaxy’s Edge to participate in that more professional and more realistic build-your-own lightsaber attraction. I won’t be able to recreate this beauty, because it doesn’t have all of the pieces that the game has, but I’ll still have something.
For now, I’ll just be pleased with this beauty I built in Jedi: Survivor. It would probably have a purple blade in a perfect world.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 12/9/23
Only a few more weeks until Christmas! That doesn’t particularly mean much in the grand scheme of things, but it definitely works to open up this comic review article. We’ve also got new issues of the likes of Batman and Transformers to enjoy.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Birds of Prey #4 for an action and character-focused issue that really kicks things up a notch.
Meanwhile, I’m almost done with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, but mostly that game was all about building my own lightsaber. I think I should share my endgame creation! I’m also finally working my way through the fourth season of Harley Quinn. It’s not as strong a show as it was at the beginning, but it’s still enjoyable.
Comic Reviews: Batman #140, Birds of Prey #4, Fantastic Four #14, Thunderbolts #1, Transformers #3 and X-Men #29.

Following the success of the Spider-Man video games, Marvel has got a lot of independent titles in the works. There’s going to be a Wolverine game, which should be awesome. I believe there’s also a Captain America and Black Panther game in the works. So why not add Blade?
I don’t know the developers off the top of my head, so I don’t know what type of game this is going to be. Action adventure? A roguelike? I don’t know, but by all means, make a Blade game. Just like they’ll make a Blade movie one of those days. I’ll probably be on board!

TV Trailer Thursday
A whole bunch of trailers for upcoming streaming shows were released this past weekend, and I’ve been waiting for a free day to share them all with you. That day has come! So prepare yourselves for my thoughts on these various upcoming shows!
First up is the trailer for the new Fallout TV show. It looks like Fallout, that’s for sure.
I love the Fallout games, so I’m definitely going to be watching this show. But I don’t really like this trailer. I feel like this is a poorly made trailer. It doesn’t do a lot to establish the world or the unique elements of the Fallout world. It has a ton of recognizable Fallout elements, for sure, but I feel like they could have been framed better in a first trailer, to hook general audiences onto this one. We fans know the concept and recognize the stuff, but what will general audiences make of this trailer?
Anyway, Fallout the show comes to Amazon Prime on April 12.
Next up is the second season of the Halo TV show, a show I actually very much enjoyed.
This one looks good. It shows off a lot of Halo stuff, but it’s a second season trailer, and we already know what’s going on. This trailer successfully teases some cool space stuff, and some cool drama and the like, along with a ton of alien and energy sword action. So I’m in. I liked the first season. Granted, I’m no Halo maniac. I don’t know the lore or demand authority to the games. So I’m in for season two!
Halo season 2 comes to Paramount+ on Feb. 8.
Next is the third season of Hilda! I love this cartoon!
I didn’t know Hilda was getting a third season! So seeing this trailer pop up was exciting news. I have no idea the Hilda release schedule. Let me go look real quick. Jeez louise! Season one and season two came out in 2018 and 2020! And there was a film in 2021! It’s been many long years and one pandemic recovery since we had new Hilda! Well hot damn, bring on the new season! This show is so much fun and so adorable! I highly recommend it for people of all ages.
Hilda returns to Netflix for season three on Dec. 7…holy cow! That’s today! How exciting!
Lastly, a trailer I also randomly stumbled across, Carol & The End of the World.
I like this trailer. I like this look and feel. A dumpy, middle-aged woman gets to be the star of a show for once. And it’s an end of the world show, so that’s neat! Martha Kelly is great. I loved her in Baskets. And this looks to be a good showcase of her talents. I’m definitely looking forward to this one and hope it holds up to its excellent trailer.
Carol & The End of the World comes to Netflix on Dec. 15, so next week. Here’s hoping!

6 Things I Want to See in Grand Theft Auto VI
I’ve been writing this blog for a very long time. I did a search of Grand Theft Auto articles to see if I’d already done this list, and it turns out I started writing this blog even before Grand Theft Auto V came out more than a decade ago! Holy cow! Anyway, I found out that I hadn’t done this list specifically! We got the GTA VI teaser trailer yesterday, so let’s celebrate!
Between the new trailer and some earlier leaks, we already know a bit about the game. It’s a return to Vice City, the Miami stand-in. And we’ve got the first ever female protagonist for a mainstream GTA game. I really wanted that, so awesome! Though, personally, I had no interest in returning to Vice City. I wouldn’t mind a new location outside of Vice City, Los Santos or Liberty City. Heck, I’d even take a game in Las Venturas, the Las Vegas stand-in. But hey, I’m very flexible and I’m sure the setting will be awesome!
Join me after the jump for what I’d like to see in Grand Theft Auto VI, from gameplay elements to open world possibilities. And feel free to share your own game hopes and dreams in the comments below.
