Bruce Campbell Remains Amazing
I will go to my grave believing that Bruce Campbell’s greatest role was as Sam Axe on the TV show Burn Notice. But there’s a new Evil Dead TV show coming, and it looks pretty amazing.
Go Bruce Campbell! Ash vs. Evil Dead is going to be on Starz.
I think that’s it for my Comic-Con coverage. This was a pretty awesome convention! We’ve got new Robin comics coming up, we got confirmation of Robin’s role in the DC Cinematic Universe, there was some other, non-Robin news. Good weekend!

A New Costume for Green Arrow and Other Fun Stuff
Both Arrow and The Flash are coming back to TV in the fall, and Comic-Con had a ton of news for both of them. First up, not only is the Arrow getting a tougher new costume, but rumor has it that he’s finally going to change his name to ‘Green Arrow’ in season 4. I like the new look.
There’s also word that both Anarky and Mr. Terrific will appear in Season 4, so it looks like more and more comic book characters are going to join this universe. They’re also going to go ahead and change the name Starling City to Star City, like it was originally in Green Arrow comics.
To say nothing of The Flash! Because not only are they going to get Jay Garrick and Earth 2, but Zoom is going to be the big bad and Wally West is finally going to show up. That’s neat. They’re also going to further explore Cisco’s transformation into Vibe.
Meanwhile, in Legends of Tomorrow, we’ve got confirmation that Hawkman is going to show up! That’s pretty cool.
And the first trailer for the Vixen cartoon has been released.
So yeah, good things coming from DC in the near future. I think they clearly won Comic-Con this year.

Amazing New Batman v. Superman Trailer Confirms My Worst Nightmare
The new 3-minute trailer for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice was the talk of Comic-Con on Saturday, and boy does it deliver! I don’t have a lot of faith in this movie (having been disappointed by Man of Steel), but there’s no doubt that this is a pretty exciting, action-packed trailer.
It also features a moment that makes me a sad panda: dead Robin.
You can see it at exactly 2 minutes into the trailer. Batman looks mournfully up at a dark costume with yellow spraypaint. If you pause, it’s clearly a Robin costume, with a message from the Joker. This confirms the rumor that Joker killed Robin at some previous point in the timeline. And even though we know that Joker kills Jason Todd in the comics, and even though most people on the Internet are jumping on this Jason Todd theory, I’m fairly confident that the movieverse isn’t going to bother with a direct adaptation of the comics. I fear that there was only one Robin, Dick Grayson, and the Joker killed him.
Sadness.
Still, at least it’s an awesome trailer. And there’s also the rumor that Jena Malone is playing Carrie Kelley, so we’ll just have to cling to that.

New Walking Dead Trailers Bring the Pain!
So funny thing happened recently: I started reading The Walking Dead comics. A friend of mine loaned me the first two compendiums, which contain about 50 issues each in one big book. I’ve been breezing through these bad boys, and just recently, I’d read past where we currently are in the TV show. Turns out, the show is actually following the comic pretty well.
Now here comes the trailer for Season 6, and suddenly everything I’m currently reading is popping up in the TV show! There are whole scenes and lines of dialogue that jump from the comic to the screen in this trailer, and it’s kind of neat. Beyond that, this trailer is also brutal and amazing!
Season 5 was the best season of the show so far, which is saying a lot. I can’t wait for the show to come back and we can see how it incorporates Morgan. Hopefully they do a better job with the character than the comic did. Morgan in the comic is not very fun at all, but in the show he’s a freakin’ Jedi!
Speaking of Walking Dead trailers, the first full length trailer for the new spin-off, Fear the Walking Dead, also debuted at Comic-Con. This trailer is also pretty damn brutal – but I still hate that stupid name!
It looks like we’re going to have some great Walking Dead times in the months ahead. Sounds great!

Batman and Robin Eternal Threatens to Tear the Heart Out of Me
We knew this was coming. There had been hints and whispers, and we couldn’t deny them. The sequel to Batman Eternal is going to be called Batman and Robin Eternal, and it’s going to focus on the legacy of Robin as part of his 75th anniversary.
Part of me couldn’t be more thrilled…and another part of me remembers how much I loathed the first Batman Eternal. I’m at war with myself!
Thanks again to Comicbook.com for the scoop.
The new weekly series (only 26 issues this time) was announced at Comic-Con Friday during the Robin Panel. Promised to be bigger and better than the original, Batman and Robin Eternal will be a globe-hopping adventure that celebrates Robin’s legacy.
The series will focus on three characters: Dick Grayson, Harper Row and, at long last, a returning Cassandra Cain.
“This series is going to reintroduce Cassandra Cain to the DC Universe,” returning co-writer James Tynion IV told reporters this morning. “We can’t talk too much about that just yet but this is a character that for me at least I have loved for my entire comic-reading life. The fact that we have the opportunity to bring her back in a very, very central role — she is on of the three leads of this story, her, Dick and Harper Rowe — I’m really pumped.”
I’m curious why Harper Row is going to be the focus of Batman and Robin Eternal. Could this be the chance I’ve been waiting for? Are there plans to eventually move Harper up from Bluebird to Robin? There’s still time! You can still make that happen DC Comics!
All I know is that my love of Robin is going to go to war against my hatred of the first Batman Eternal. Only one can win, and we’ll find out which when the new series starts in October.
Man, today has been a great day for Robin news.
