Jessica Jones Teaser Trailer Evokes Art & Music
The first teaser trailer for Jessica Jones, the next Marvel Netflix show, hit the Internet today, and it’s very evocative. We’ve got moody music, shifty art, and a determined confidence. I like it already!
Of course, comic book fans will recognize the art style as being very reminiscent of Jessica Jones’ original comic book covers. The series was Alias, and it got pretty dark. We’re expecting the show to get just as dark.
This trailer also finally reveals the release date: Nov. 20!
Every episode will go live on Nov. 20, so just like Daredevil, we can watch them all in a weekend! I am definitely excited for this show!

Hellcat and Red Wolf Getting New Marvel Comics!
Marvel has yet to reveal all of their All-New, All-Different comics, but a couple new ones were announced today and over the past few days. Seeing as how I’m a sucker these days for quirky, colorful lady superhero comics, I’m definitely excited to check out Patsy Walker a.k.a. Hellcat, by writer Kate Leth and artist Brittney Williams.
Marvel describes the book as a comedy akin to Broad City, which is probably my favorite live-action comedy on TV these days. The comic will be about Patsy being a go-getter in the big city, and will incorporate her history as a romance comic character. That should be pretty neat. Yahoo has more.
The other big announcement recently was Red Wolf, a comic about a badass Native American superhero from another dimension. We’ve been waiting for this announcement since Marvel added Red Wolf to one of their promotional images.
Red Wolf will come from writer Nathan Edmondson and artist Dalibor Talajić, with cover art by Native American artist Jeffrey Veregge. That’s a nice step for Marvel to take. The comic will be about a new version of Red Wolf protecting his people in the American Southwest. Could be fun!
Mashable has further details.
What do you henchies think of these new comics? Marvel has been on a role for years. Will they be able to keep it going with all this All-New, All-Different stuff?

My 6 Favorite Simpsons One-Off Characters
Recently, I started listening to the creator commentaries on The Simpsons on DVD, and it’s been the bee’s knees! The commentaries are full of all sorts of interesting behind-the-scenes chatter and trivia. Like the fact that one writer, John Swartzwelder, wrote 50+ episodes and is likely responsible for every memorable joke, gag or plot from the series – and he’s also an eccentric recluse. Or the fact that the episode where Bart sells his soul is actually based on a prank one writer played on a bully in his youth. And there’s the idea that the creators planned a spin-off called ‘Tales from Springfield’, which would have been about all the supporting characters. Good times!
So for this week’s List of Six, I’ve decided to write one up about my favorite one-off, one-joke Simpsons characters!
The Simpsons is not only the best television show of all time, but it’s clearly the best cast of all time. From Homer to Bart to Mr. Burns to Surly to Ruth Powers, there are hundreds of great, timeless characters! But I’m talking the minor, obscure characters who only appeared in a single episode, or maybe had a single gag. Those are some of the absolute best parts of The Simpsons!
Feel free to share some of your own favorites in the comments!
Age of Ultron Bloopers!
Avengers: Age of Ultron is starting to become available at long last. It’s available digitally, with DVDs and the like due out early next month. And that means we’ve got a fun little blooper reel to enjoy. Everybody loves blooper reels!
I know I do! I rewatched the movie just last night as part of my epic birthday weekend. It was a blast!
