6 Thoughts on the (First?) Season of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier
Six weeks of action and excitement have come and gone and I declare that the first season of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was awesome! I loved the whole darn thing, from beginning to end. A lot of chatter online has this show as flawed, but I disagree entirely. I had fun the whole way through and loved pretty much every minute of it.
TV Rating: 9/10 – Great.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was everything I wanted and more. Going into the series, I expected an action show on par with the action-heavy Marvel movies, and we got that. I expected some fun banter/butting heads between Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes. We got that. Then the show took things even further with some truly memorable side characters and a deeper exploration of race than I would have ever predicted. I thought that part was great as well!
What can I say? I love me some Marvel Cinematic Universe content!
Join me after the jump for my thoughts on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier! Expect FULL SPOILERS for the show!

It’s a nice, simple Tuesday and so I figured I’d share some trailers for some returning TV shows I really enjoy! A lot of my favorite shows have been ending recently, so it’s nice that some of them are indeed coming back.
First up is the newly announced third season of Master of None. I don’t think anybody expected this show to return after Aziz Ansari’s scandal, but apparently they’re going to pivot and the third season will be about Lena Waithe’s character. I think that’s a neat way to take things.
Master of None: Moments in Love will arrive on Netflix on May 23.
Next up is the second season of Ted Lasso on AppleTV+, which should be amazing! I watched Ted Lasso earlier this year and was blown away by this show. I’d heard of it last year when it debuted, and it seemed to do OK. But when I watched it myself, holy cow, what a masterpiece! So funny, so charming, so heartwarming; this is a great show!
Ted Lasso will return to AppleTV+ on July 23.
Gonna be good to have fun new TV!

King Kong Will Never Die!
It’s been a couple of weeks since we all enjoyed Godzilla vs. Kong, so how about one last bit of related joy with the Tell It Animated video for King Kong!
I love these things. The creator has a lot of talent and really found a fun niche. They’ve got a Patreon. They post some fun videos. I hope they are doing well in their chosen niftiness.
There are a lot of options still to go, I would think. As always, my suggestion for a future video is Robin! There are a bunch of live action Robins and Nightwings to choose from.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 4/24/21
What a finale to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier! I loved it, loved every part of it, from the character twists to the new costume reveals to pretty much everything! Expect a nice big review/thoughts roundup on the series on Wednesday! Until then, comics!
Comic Book of the Week goes to Way of X #1 for taking a deep dive into life on Krakoa, unlike any other X-Men comic since the new era began. I had my hesitations about this series, but the first issue delivered a lot of what I want!
Meanwhile, this week also saw the release of the new Mortal Kombat movie! I found it simultaneously cool and dumb. I’m mildly satisfied as a MK fan. And with my new Nintendo Switch, I splurged and bought Pokemon Shield. When the game was released, I was confident I would never get the chance to play. But here I am, me and my Grookey! It’s fine so far.
Also, I read this week’s issue of Spider-Woman but didn’t review it for timing reasons. But there are some fun character developments that make me want to pick this series back up again!
Comic Reviews: Justice League #60, Nightwing #79, Power Rangers #6, S.W.OR.D. #5 and Way of X #1.

I am very excited that Multiple Man, my all-time favorite comic book character, is finally going to return to ongoing comics next month with X-Corp. The real and proper Jamie Madrox hasn’t been in comics since 2013, when X-Factor ended! Then Marvel killed him in 2016 and then replaced him with a surviving duplicate in 2018. It’s been a long, horrible road for Multiple Man fans.
But X-Corp is coming. And in July, we’re going to get this sweet cover by artist David Aja for issue #3.
Oh baby. That’s just…ooo…I’m getting chills here. David Aja is an amazing artist. He was the guy behind the Hawkeye series that I still consider to be the best comic book series of the 2010s, and some of those covers are great!
Here’s the issue blurb for X-Corp #3.
He’s everywhere you want to be. He’s never not in the office. And his direct reports always fall in line. How does X-CORP meet their nearly impossible quotas with maximum synergy and minimal bandwidth? They’ve got Dr. Jamie Madrox, and he’s the world’s best boss.
I love it! He’s a doctor now? Sounds damn good to me! I can’t wait to see this series live up to the hype of the cover art.
And that’s it! Marvel revealed this cover in their July solicitations yesterday and I just had to share. It’s choice.
