How About a Spooky Strange Things Teaser?
For reasons we don’t yet understand, Netflix put out a teaser trailer for the fourth season of Stranger Things today. It teases an origin story for Eleven…so perhaps we’ll meet those super-powered teens from that one episode of season 3 again?
Who knows, because the trailer doesn’t tell us much, not even a release date.
But hey, I’m excited for more Stranger Things, so here’s hoping we get more Stranger Things sooner rather than later!

6 Things I Hated the Most in the New Mortal Kombat Movie
So here’s the deal: I had a couple of ideas for a Mortal Kombat movie themed List of Six. I could have done one of my usual review lists, like I did for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier last week. I also thought about doing a list of what I’d like to see in a sequel. But after watching the movie twice, once in theaters and once at home, my only real take away from the new Mortal Kombat movie is how much of it sucks.
Movie Rating: 4/10 – Pretty Bad.
Overall, I’d rate the movie as less than average. Parts of it are really cool. They do the fighting well enough, they do the gore very well, a lot of the characters are quality adaptations, and overall I’d rate the movie as a watchable action flick. But man oh man, do they make a lot of stupid character and plot decisions. So much so that those are the only real takeaways I have from Mortal Kombat. What boneheads made these choices?
Join me after the jump for the dumbest things in the Mortal Kombat movie that really stick in my craw. Expect FULL SPOILERS for the movie.

I’d been looking forward to this movie for a while and it lived up to all the hype and excitement! Head to Netflix as soon as you have a moment and go watch The Mitchells vs. The Machines! It’s hilarious, hugely energetic, action-packed and just a great movie.
It’s produced by Phil Lord and Chris Miller and has their same energy throughout. It’s also made by some of the people behind Gravity Falls. Really strong pedigree behind this film. And in a fun bit of moviemaking, this is a film that doesn’t make its characters’ unique traits the focus of the movie. The main character, Katie, is a lesbian, but it’s not the focus of the movie and it’s barely acknowledged. Likewise, the little brother is on the Autism Spectrum, but again, it’s not the point of his character. It’s not his defining trait. These are just parts of who they are and it’s really neat!
Highly recommend this movie. It’s gonna make my end-of-the-year top 10 list for sure!

Get Hyped for Them There Marvel Movies!
It being a random Monday, Marvel has released a sizzle reel trailer to show off their awesomeness and reveal some upcoming dates for new movies. Obviously this is a ploy to get us all to go back to movie theaters…and it works like a charm!
This sizzle reel also features the first footage from The Eternals, which comes out this November. We’ve also got the first logos for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and The Marvels, the sequels to Black Panther and Captain Marvel respectively.
So yeah, big freakin’ deal, I’d say! Trailer looks great! Marvel has never skimped on those. I’m excited for all the upcoming movies, and I’m already back in the theaters, so you best believe I’ll be seeing all of these upcoming movies on the big screen.
It’s gonna be a busy couple of months. We’ve got Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, The Eternals and Spider-Man: Far From Home all coming out in the back half of this year. Of 2021!
And next year, we’ve got Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and The Marvels!
Then, so far, we’ve got Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 for 2023.
Should be a good couple of years!

How About Just Some Rick and Morty Madness?
Rick and Morty season 5 is coming at the end of June and the world is probably ready for it. I know I am! To help get us excited, some really sweet Rick and Morty business arrived this weekend. We’ve got a new trailer, which looks as good as always.
And then we’ve got this 17-minute, 8-bit adventure animated by Paul Robertson. Holy jeez louise, this one.
What the heck do we even make of that?! Other than art is amazing and this Robertson dude is some kind of god. If this doesn’t spur Cartoon Network into hiring Robertson to make a legit Rick and Morty 8-bit adventure, I don’t know what will! Everybody loved that Scott Pilgrim game, right? Do that, but make it this!
Find the time to watch all 17 minutes. This thing is really nifty!
