6 Classic Video Games That Need Modern, R-Rated Cartoons
In these virus-ridden times, the only thing we all have to look forward to is crashing on our various couches and binging Netflix. I recently finished the latest season of the Castlevania cartoon, and it was awesome! Great character work, fun and clever writing, glorious animation and an eye-popping amount of Hard-R-Rated gore and more. They went all out with this cartoon.
So let’s kill some time in our new virus reality by daydreaming about other modern, Hard-R-Rated versions of classic video games. Why not? What do we have to lose? Sure, some of these could be turned into goofy, kid-friendly cartoons. But I want more total badasses kicking butt and being hardcore! That’s the sort of world we deserve. That’s the kind of world we should live in!
Join me after the jump for six classic video games that I think should get the modern Castlevania cartoon treatment! Life will just be more fun that way.
6 Even More Great Cameos on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
I finally got around to watching the series finale of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic the other day and it was nice. It’s no longer edgy to call oneself a brony, but I enjoyed all nine seasons of this colorful cartoon and it ended on a high note.
As has been a fun game on my blog, I like collecting all the fun and wild pop culture cameos that the creators of My Little Pony snuck into the show over the years. I’ve done two lists prior — here and here — featuring cameos of everyone from the cast of Mad Men to Kratos to even Grumpy Cat! The creators clearly had a lot of fun, and they slipped in a couple more cameos in the final few seasons.
So join me after the jump for another batch of nifty pop-ins on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic!
This Westworld Trailer Has An Awesome Song In It!
Westworld season 3 comes out on March 15, so we’re only a few weeks away! It’s a fun show. I enjoy it. But more so than the actual show, I really like this instrumental cover of “Sweet Child O’Mine” they added to this trailer.
That song is banging! I’ve watched the official music video as well, but it’s not as good. It’s really just the perfect combination of trailer and song.
The show’s song master, Ramin Djawadi made the cover of the Guns N’Roses classic and I’d say he earned his paycheck that day!
Let’s hope the new season is even half as exciting as that song/trailer combo.

6 Thoughts on the First Season of Harley Quinn
Good golly, Miss Molly! The Harley Quinn cartoon show was an absolute delight! I had high hopes for the series after seeing the first few trailers. Then the show captured me from the very first scene of the very first episode! A sharp, visceral cartoon that wasn’t afraid to be vicious, while also telling a very good, character-focused story.
TV Rating: 10/10 – Fantastic!
The Harley Quinn cartoon ran for 13 episodes on the DC Universe streaming service, with the final episode airing this past Friday. The next season is right around the corner in April, and I am thrilled! Harley Quinn is a hard R-rated show that doesn’t skimp on the violence and language, while making sure to use all of that to be funny and smart. It’s a triumph of well-written humor, voice acting, storytelling and more! Not every episode was a masterpiece, and there were some poor choices here and there, but overall, this first season was phenomenal television!

First Look at the Marvel TV Shows!
Last night’s Super Bowl brought with it the prerequisite bunch of nifty commercials. But I’m mostly interested in the new movie trailers and TV spots, and last night was a real treat! Because Marvel delivered the first look at their upcoming live action TV shows on Disney+! Finally, something else to watch to justify the Disney+ subscription!
Behold, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision and Loki!
Man, those look great! They look like real movies. I am getting quite excited for what Marvel Studios has in store for us! And Falcon and WandaVision are coming before the end of the year, so that’s super sweet!
Meanwhile, we also got a quick new TV spot for the Black Widow movie, which comes out in May.
All we’re missing is the trailer for The Eternals, but that doesn’t come out until November and Marvel doesn’t like to overload their trailer allotment.
But still, at least the Super Bowl was good for something this year!
