And So the Star Wars Parodies Continue

We’re only a few short weeks away from the premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and sure enough, all our favorite parody sites are getting in on the act! Honest Trailers knocked around A New Hope the other day, and now it’s time for the rest to start their no doubt massive preparations!

First up, here’s Everything Wrong With A New Hope.

And here is how Attack of the Clones should have ended!

Good times, people. We’re in for some quality comedic takedowns!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 11/21/15

This is the week. There are a lot of good comics out this week, and I wish I’d found the time to get to even more of them, but this week is special because of the return of two of my favorite comics: Ms. Marvel and The Mighty Thor! These are some of the best in the industry right now, and their returns are most welcome!

But surprisingly, Comic Book of the Week goes to Astonishing Ant-Man #2! Another one of Marvel’s gems, the new issue of Ant-Man delivers a wonderfully entertaining issue that edges out the two more hotly anticipated comics because of the return of a recent favorite character of mine!

Let’s welcome back Miss Thing!

Many happy returns!

And as a special bonus later today, tune in to the Geekamole Youtube channel this afternoon as I join frequent Henchman commenter Maus Merryjest for his weekly pop culture podcast! We talk about Teen Titans, Iceman and much more! If you’ve ever wanted to listen to me talk about comics instead of reading them, now is your chance.

Doubly also, we’ve got some big Gamer Girl & Vixen news coming soon! And if you helped out my Kickstarter last summer, then your comics should be arriving very soon!

Comic Reviews: Astonishing Ant-Man #2, Huck #1, Mighty Thor #1, Ms. Marvel #1, Spider-Woman #1, Titans Hunt #2 and Vader Down #1.

Let’s All Get Honest About Star Wars for a Second

All of the great Internet movie parody groups — from Honest Trailers to Cinema Sins — have about a month left to do all of the Star Wars movies in the build-up to The Force Awakens. The Screen Junkies kicked things off this week with the Honest Trailer for A New Hope!

It’s amazing anytime somebody can find something new to say about Star Wars, but such is the power and awesomeness of the movies. But the most important thing is that we’re less than a month away from The Force Awakens!

Star Wars: Battlefront gameplay footage

Here you are, you mongrels. Scraps of gameplay footage from Star Wars: Battlefront, which will be released November 17. On the one hand, I’m optimistic. On the other, Electronic Arts has fallen to the dark side more than once.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 10/31/15

Happy Halloween! I hope all you ghosts, ghouls and superheroes have a lot of fun today! Halloween is my favorite holiday because of the insanely awesome pageantry involved. It’s just so much fun! Too bad we didn’t get any spooky comics this week…at least not in my regular pile. I should start reading Wytches maybe.

Word of note, before we begin: there won’t be any reviews next Saturday! Yours truly is going on vacation to London next week, and I won’t get any comics! I’ll still try to get some videos up, and a couple Lists of Six, but we’re skipping comic reviews next week. It’s for the best.

Fortunately, this week was pretty darn good. Batgirl #45 wins Comic Book of the Week for a lovely wedding issue.

Let’s make the magic happen!

Always good to see more diverse weddings and love stories in comics! We’ve come a long way since Northstar got married.

Comic Reviews: Angela: Queen of Hel #1, Batgirl #45, Batman and Robin Eternal #4, Chewbacca #2, Grayson #13, Sam Wilson: Captain America #2 and Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #1.
