Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 8/29/26
This was both a weird and good week for me. I had some trouble sleeping, which sucked. But this was also the week of the Grand Theft Auto VI: Extended Look, and that can raise any week back up! As can good comics, like Amazing Spider-Man!
Comic Book of the Week goes to Absolute Wonder Woman #23 for a powerhouse performance by our beloved Amazon warrior woman.
Meanwhile, like I said, I had some fun this week. Grand Theft Auto VI looks amazing! Can’t wait! I also started up Star Wars: Zero Company last night and it’s fun so far! I’ve got a 3-day weekend and I’m going to enjoy the heck out of this new game. I also went and saw Coyote vs. Acme and it was a hoot and a half! Lovely, super fun film. Glad we all got the chance to see it.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 8/22/26
This was one of those weird weeks where all the comics I read were a bunch of enjoyable, entertaining reads, but then none of them really stood out as particularly interesting or worth writing about. But I did it anyway! For comics like Absolute Green Arrow and Daredevil, even! But if my reviews seem a bit drab, that’s why.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Avengers: Armageddon #3 for a solid, energetic twist at the end.
Meanwhile, I’m just killing time until I pick up Star Wars: Zero Company next week. That should be fun! I’m keeping an eye on all these Grand Theft Auto VI leaks but don’t really care about them. I looooved the first episode of Lanterns, and the only thing I don’t like is that I don’t have the entire season available to binge watch right away! Gonna have to be patient on that one. Next weekend is also Coyote vs. Acme, so that’s good too!

I hope these reviews are doing some good for somebody somewhere. I often realize that I only really read the comics I like, which are a fraction of the total comics that come out in a single week. But hey, I like what I like! For example, Fury of Firestorm! And maybe the new Miles Morales: Spider-Man relaunch!
Comic Book of the Week goes to Absolute Batman #23 for another banger issue that is jam-packed with good stuff!
Meanwhile, Dying Light 2 was free on Playstation this month, so I’m gonna play that until Star Wars: Zero Company comes out at the end of the month. Should keep me busy. I watched and loved the finale of season two of X-Men ’97, and will post my full thoughts on the whole season next week. Stay tuned for that. I also watched and enjoyed the second season of Batman: Caped Crusader. May or may not post my thoughts. And I can’t wait for Lanterns tomorrow! Should be fun!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 8/8/26
What a fun week for comics and comic book fans. We’re all still basking in the glory of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, of X-Men casting news, and all sorts of other good things. Yet didn’t review the new Spider-Man comic…that’s on me. Anyway, I did review some good stuff like Absolute Superman and Batman.
Comic Book of the Week goes to The Deadman #3 for a truly marvelous artistic experience.
Meanwhile, I’ve finally, at long last, wrapped up my time in Crimson Desert. I squeezed at least 3 to 4 months out of that game. Had a great time. Loved the whole thing. It would probably be my game of the year…except we’ve still got Wolverine and Grand Theft Auto 6 coming out. Beyond that, I’ve started the second season of Batman: Caped Crusader, and that’s going fine. And if you haven’t seen my review, I absolutely loved Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
I’ve also spent the past week arguing on Reddit that a certain character at the end of the film did NOT get their memories back. I feel like I’ve been taking crazy pills at how many people online seem to think that’s what happened. It’s insane! Come at me in the comments!

It’s that time again! New Spider-Man movie time! I’ve been reviewing Spider-Man movies on this blog since way back in the Amazing Spider-Man days. And I’ve loved all of them! I don’t know if they’ve ever made a real stinker of a Spider-Man movie. I don’t remember how I felt coming out of Spider-Man 3…Regardless, we’ve got a new director, a new direction maybe and a new Spider-Man movie to talk about!
Movie Rating: 10/10 – Fantastic!
I loved this movie, as I’ve loved all Spider-Man movies. I had a ton of fun. I’m starting to worry that my local theater just can’t play new movies to a quality degree, but that’s a me problem, not a movie problem. I’m still a big fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and I never once doubted this movie. It lived up to all the hype it has been getting and I can’t wait to see how it does at the box office this weekend. The people love Spider-Man. This dude loves Spider-Man. We all love Spider-Man!
