Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 10/24/26
I don’t know what was going on with me this week, but I wasn’t particularly jazzed by any of the new comics I read this week. There might be something wrong with me if I can’t enjoy Absolute Green Arrow or Wonder Woman!
Comic Book of the Week goes to Fury of Firestorm #7 for a nice start to the new story.
Meanwhile, I just finished the second season of Haunted Hotel on Netflix and it was just as much fun as the first! Definitely recommended if you want a fun little cartoon. I’m going to see Wildwood this weekend and I’m very excited about that. And I’ll be playing 007: First Light until Nov. 19.
Also, thank you to everyone who ordered Cover Bard #1 through my Kickstarter! We hit our fundraising goal and someday soon I’ll have printed copies of my newest comic in hand!

It’s going to be a small week for reviews because I sort of got distracted, apparently, and didn’t read many new comics. I’m going to be on vacation next week, and I think I was just ticking off these days to get through them. Anyway, here’s Fury of Firestorm,
Comic Book of the Week goes to The Fury of Firestorm #6 for an excellent finish to its first story arc! Can’t wait to see where we go next.
Meanwhile, I’m wrapping up Star Wars: Zero Company. It was a fun play, but far shorter than I was hoping for. I may do a second play through just to pad out my time. I’m still excited for the Wolverine game in the week ahead, even if the internet seems to be reveling in its okay-to-good reviews. I expect to still have fun with it, though it might also be shorter than I was hoping for. We’ll see!

I hope these reviews are doing some good for somebody somewhere. I often realize that I only really read the comics I like, which are a fraction of the total comics that come out in a single week. But hey, I like what I like! For example, Fury of Firestorm! And maybe the new Miles Morales: Spider-Man relaunch!
Comic Book of the Week goes to Absolute Batman #23 for another banger issue that is jam-packed with good stuff!
Meanwhile, Dying Light 2 was free on Playstation this month, so I’m gonna play that until Star Wars: Zero Company comes out at the end of the month. Should keep me busy. I watched and loved the finale of season two of X-Men ’97, and will post my full thoughts on the whole season next week. Stay tuned for that. I also watched and enjoyed the second season of Batman: Caped Crusader. May or may not post my thoughts. And I can’t wait for Lanterns tomorrow! Should be fun!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 7/11/26
Can you believe another week of comics has come and gone? I missed last week because I was away for the holiday. And I’m back this week with the likes of Absolute Batman and Fury of Firestorm.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Daredevil #4 for the most exciting shock ending.
Meanwhile, did I mention that I watched and very much enjoyed Widow’s Bay? Great show! Lives up to all the hype and word of mouth it’s getting. I’m currently working my way through Maniac, a Netflix show from a few years ago. Not great, but alright. And I recently finished reading all Dunk and Egg novellas from the Game of Thrones universe. Those were fun. Should make for some entertaining future seasons of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 6/13/26
We’re here, we’re reading comics, it’s been an OK week of life. So OK that we’ve got a pretty OK pile of comics to have been read and now reviewed, like the brand new Absolute Catwoman and the brand new Avengers: Armageddon.
Comic Book of the Week goes to The Fury of Firestorm #3 for an exciting retelling of the character’s new origin story.
Meanwhile, still enjoying Crimson Desert and will be for a while. Don’t you worry about that. I went to the theater and finally saw The Mandalorian and Grogu and I enjoyed it. Just a fun Mando and Grogu adventure. And I finally stayed home and saw Mortal Kombat II. Wasn’t thrilled at first but it won me over in the end.
