Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 9/19/26
I was off from work this week and I spent the whole time on a nice staycation at home. Got some cleaning done. Read some comics. Played a lot of video games. And mostly just didn’t work. So it’s a good week for Wonder Woman and Absolute Green Arrow.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Daredevil #7 for a really fun, really energetic issue.
Meanwhile, I took this week off from work to play the new Wolverine video game and I’m very much enjoying it! Haters gonna hate and chase those hate algorithms, but this is a very enjoyable, straight forward Wolverine brawler game. So I’m quite pleased. I’m also working on a second playthrough of Star Wars: Zero Company, which remains fun. And I’m currently working my way through the fourth season of Reacher, which is also enjoyable. So good times for me!
Also, it’s time once again for me to put my money where my mouth is. I review comics week in and week out, and I’m once again making one of my own. Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 7/18/26
So it’s gonna be a weird week for comic book reviews from me, dawgs. I had some work and some traveling and this and that, and then, frankly, I wasn’t too impressed with what was on offer. So it’s gonna be a quick week from me.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Absolute Green Arrow #3 for another strong issue, though it was a bit scattershot to my liking.
Meanwhile, I dunno, I keep doing the same stuff. Still playing Crimson Desert, though I’m probably nearing the end. I’m gonna go see The Odyssey in theaters on Monday, though not in IMAX. The closest IMAX theater is nearly an hour away and not worth the hassle of getting to. So pretty chill time to be me.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 6/13/26
We’re here, we’re reading comics, it’s been an OK week of life. So OK that we’ve got a pretty OK pile of comics to have been read and now reviewed, like the brand new Absolute Catwoman and the brand new Avengers: Armageddon.
Comic Book of the Week goes to The Fury of Firestorm #3 for an exciting retelling of the character’s new origin story.
Meanwhile, still enjoying Crimson Desert and will be for a while. Don’t you worry about that. I went to the theater and finally saw The Mandalorian and Grogu and I enjoyed it. Just a fun Mando and Grogu adventure. And I finally stayed home and saw Mortal Kombat II. Wasn’t thrilled at first but it won me over in the end.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 5/23/26
Happy Memorial Day Weekend to everybody in America! I’m traveling to visit family this weekend and it should be a good time. But before I left, I got in some good comic reading, like Wonder Woman, Spider-Man and even Wolverine!
Comic Book of the Week goes to Absolute Green Arrow #1 for another excellent launch of a new Absolute Comic!
Meanwhile, I’m still deep into Crimson Desert and how to extend that game through the whole summer! The dev team keeps coming out with weekly patches that add a whole bunch of free content, and now I’m a little afraid of beating the game and missing out on what they come up with next! So I’m in for the long haul. Beyond that, I highly recommend the TV shows Rooster and The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins; both really fun shows! Haven’t seen The Mandalorian and Grogu yet because I’m getting together with some old pals to check it out next weekend. Should be fun.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 2/21/26
My relationship with comics is so weird these days. I’m loving pretty much everything DC is putting out, I’m very very lukewarm on anything Marvel is attempting, and I’ve all but given up on the Energon Universe. I’ve got a vacation coming up, and I think I’m gonna try to get caught up on all the comics I’ve let fall to the wayside so that I have more review options. Anyway, here’s Captain America and the Ultimate Spider-Man finale.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Absolute Batman #17, which delivers another absolute banger as it introduces Absolute Poison Ivy.
Meanwhile, I finally finished Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. It was a solid, enjoyable RPG that wasn’t as deep as I might have preferred, but it was a fun play. Now I’m on the search for my next game to play, and I don’t want to spend much money…I’m also rewatching all of Star Trek: Lower Decks to finish my recent Trek binge. The show absolutely and wonderfully holds up. I hope to see these characters again someday.
