Sweet Bill & Ted Trailer
No sooner do I make a post about a new Bill & Ted: Face the Music poster than we end up getting the first trailer after all. Fancy that. I should have just been more patient.
Anyway, here’s the trailer. It’s fine.
Nothing really blows me away about the trailer. Both actors are definitely showing their age. Nice to see the Grim Reaper coming back, same actor there as well.
It all looks fine and I remain cautiously optimistic.
Bill & Ted: Face the Music is scheduled to come out on Aug. 21. Fingers crossed that actually ahppens.

Sweet Bill & Ted Poster
Bill & Ted 3: Face the Music is still scheduled to hit theaters sometime this summer, so it’s time for the marketing to get to work. The movie has declared today “Bill & Ted Day” and have debuted this first poster for the film. Looks pretty sweet.

Obviously the rumor is that we might even get the first trailer later today. If we do, you best believe I’ll be sharing it here, so feel free to come back throughout the day.
I’m guarded about Bill & Ted 3. I love the original two movies, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey. As far as I am concerned, they are theatrical masterpieces. Both of them. So the idea that we’ve come back for a third film all these decades later is very daunting. It is not often that this style of sequel making ever works.
But we’ll see. I’m cautiously optimistic. I’m also somewhat disappointed that the plot of this upcoming film is that Bill & Ted did not go on to bring about world peace like they were supposed to at the end of the first two films.

Tenet is Still Scheduled for Next Month in Theaters!
This trailer is a couple weeks old. I’ve been sitting on it waiting for a day where I didn’t have much else to post about. It’s a trailer for the next big Christopher Nolan movie, Tenet. And it’s the movie that could determine the future of the film industry.
Tenet is scheduled for release in movie theaters on July 17. If it holds to that date, it will be the first major movie to come out in theaters since the pandemic started. That’s a big deal. If it actually opens in theaters, it will be a strong sign that movie theaters could go back to normal and other big movies will follow, like Mulan and Wonder Woman 84.
But if Warner Bros. balks and delays Tenet because of the virus, all other upcoming movies will also likely be delayed. And we might not get new movies in theaters until the end of the year…if ever. Who will know at that point?
Basically, keep your eyes on Tenet if you want to know what the future holds.

6 Characters Who Don’t Need Origin Stories
Last week, the big announcement came down that filmmaker George Miller is going to make a Mad Max prequel starring Furiosa, telling her origin story. I think this is a bad idea. Furioda arrived in Fury Road fully formed and had a very compelling, very well-done story arc over the course of that movie. Furiosa doesn’t need an origin story.
A lot of different characters don’t need origin stories.
What’s the Furiosa origin story going to be? She’s kidnapped from her home and is forced through very ugly circumstances until she reaches the point that she’s a hardened nerve of a human being? Are we going to see the harrowing scene where she loses an arm? Surely Immortan Joe did terrible things to her. Do we really want to watch that? Especially since Charlize Theron won’t be returning. She got to introduce one of the greatest female protagonists in the history of Hollywood, but to follow up, they’re going to recast the part and show us all her ugly, abusive moments? Why not a badass sequel?
Furiosa would have topped this list prior to last week. But since we’re doomed to that prequel, here are six other characters who do not need origin stories.
So They’re Going to Release the Snyder Cut
I don’t care about the Snyder Cut of the Justice League movie. I can remember mildly enjoying all of Zack Snyder’s DC Comics movies in the theaters, but time has curdled that opinion and I don’t care for Man of Steel, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice or Justice League. So if we’re drawing lines in the sand, I am definitely not one of those fanboys who was desperate for Zack Snyder’s director’s cut of Justice League.
I thought the whole idea was as much a joke as this Honest Trailers video on the subject.
But earlier this week, Warner Bros. has announced that they will release the massive, 4-hour Snyder’s Cut of Justice League next year to attract viewers to their upcoming HBO Now streaming service. Gotta have something to offer people to get them to subscribe to yet another streaming service; and someone thought pandering to the fanboys was the right choice.
We’ll see. I’ll probably watch the Snyder Cut some how when it’s out, but I’m fairly certain it’s going to be as bad as the rest of Snyder’s DC output. Such is life.
