6 Marvel Legends Action Figures I’m Still Waiting For
Marvel Legends are the be-all, end-all of superhero action figures. I wish I had figures this awesome when I was a kid — though, to be fair, I’m making fine use of them as an adult. There have been more than 1,000 Marvel Legends figures over the past few decades, highlighting some of Marvel’s greatest characters and a lot of their very obscure characters.
So why haven’t there been any Marvel Legends figures of my personal favorite obscure characters?!
I’ve been a comic book fan for my entire life, and while I like Spider-Man and the X-Men as much as the next person, most of my favorite characters are B, C and D-list guys and gals who don’t get the respect they deserve. Heck, Marvel Legends only got around to a Multiple Man figure a couple of years ago. They’ve made guys like Skullbuster, Living Laser, Darkhawk, the female Beetle and a bunch of members of the Serpent Society. These are some deep cuts…and yet a ton of my favorite Marvel characters have yet to receive a Marvel Legends figure!
Join me after the jump for six(ish) characters I hope to see as Marvel Legends some day. And feel free to share your own character hopes and drams in the comments!

Happy vacation, everybody! Vacation for me, that is. I’m finally taking a week off from work for the first time this year, and oh man, I needed it. I need a week to just relax and do not much of anything. Thankfully, I’ve got the likes of Batman, X-Men and X-Corp to kick it off.
Comic Book of the Week goes to X-Men: Onslaught Revelation for a truly excellent and exciting end to this chapter of the story. I have loved Way of X, more so than I thought I would, and the first part of Sy Spurrier’s X-Men epic has come to an exciting end!
Meanwhile, I don’t have much planned for my vacation. Can’t exactly travel anywhere. I’ll go visit my parents, I’ve got a dentist’s appointment, and Venom: Let There Be Carnage will come out at the end of the week. That should be fun. Mostly I’ll just relax and spend some more time playing No Man’s Sky. It’s also pretty fun!
Comic Reviews: Batman #113, Nightwing #84, X-Corp #5, X-Men #3 and X-Men: Onslaught Revelation #1.

The trailer for the Hit-Monkey cartoon on Hulu arrived on the internet this week and I had a realization: what about all of the other super-pets who don’t have their own cartoon? Super-pets are a hot topic these days. DC Comics is working on an entire super-pets cartoon, featuring the voice talents of Dwayne Johnson. DC takes very good care of their super-pets. But what about Marvel? Sure, the Pet Avengers exist…but are they really as all-encompassing as they could be?
This led to a deep dive into the super-animals at Marvel Comics. The Pet Avengers feature such luminaries as Lockjaw, Redwing, Throg, Lockheed and even Aunt May’s pet dog for some reason. But those animals only scratch the surface of the critters that exist at Marvel and are due their shot! The Pet Avengers need their own animated movie — possibly with the voice talents of John Cena? — and here are some super-animals who deserve a spot on the lineup.
Join me after the jump for six other animal-heroes at Marvel that should be the New Pet Avengers!

This is a complete surprise. Marvel went and actually made that Hit-Monkey cartoon. Insanity. Remember a couple of years ago, when Marvel and Hulu announced a series of wacky cartoons? Like Howard the Duck and a team-up between Dazzler and Tigra? Only for Marvel Studios to eventually step in and declare most of those projects dead?
Welp, looks like the Hit-Monkey cartoon just kept churning away under the surface, ready to pounce when we least suspected.
It looks…OK. I’m pretty sure I saw Fat Cobra and Lady Bullseye in that trailer, so neat! But otherwise the whole thing feels kind of off. I’m going to watch Hit-Monkey, no doubt. It’s just weird.
Granted, I absolutely loved the M.O.D.O.K. cartoon that came from the same batch of ideas. So maybe I’ll love Hit-Monkey! But jeez…does anybody even remember Hit-Monkey? Wasn’t he some kind of weird Deadpool spin-off idea that went nowhere? But hey, he’s got a cartoon show before Deadpool gets a cartoon show! So he must be doing something right.
Hit-Monkey comes to Hulu on Nov. 17.

Here’s a Deeper Look at Midnight Suns
I’m intrigued by the upcoming Marvel superheroes video game Midnight Suns. I like a good Marvel video game, and I really enjoyed the XCOM games by the same studio. So Midnight Suns could be a lot of fun. And this longer video shows us how actual gameplay is going to work.
I still don’t know if I fully understand the card-based fighting mechanic…but it could still work. Move your characters around, and their powers are just shaped like cards instead of…I dunno, something more traditional like button presses. But yeah, Midnight Suns looks like it could be a fun game. I suppose I might wait to see some reviews before I dive in, but that’s a decision for future Sean. Right now, this just looks like a potentially cool video game.
Midnight Suns will come out sometime next year, I believe.
