6 Even More Characters That Need Action Figures (So I Can Buy Even More of Them)

I love action figures. I have a pretty nice collection, some still in the box and some out and adorning my Geek Wall in my dumb little bachelor pad. They’re fun to collect and put on display. Who needs some fancy trophy or piece of art adorning my apartment when I can show off my love of the X-Men?

And we recently received the greatest action figure news of all time: my favorite comic book character, Multiple Man, is finally getting a proper Marvel Legends figure!

A dream come true

This is the best action figure news of all time, no doubt about it. I’m gonna buy half a dozen of them! It’s only common sense when you’re dealing with Multiple Man! And this good news has me reviving a fun List of Six tradition: characters who don’t have action figures yet that I really, really want! A couple characters from my previous lists have figures coming out, and favorite characters I forgot to mention, like Songbird and Prowler, are also destined for my toy shelf.

But join me after the jump for six more characters that have yet to get proper action figure love!

Runaways Trailer Needs Some Work

I’m looking forward to the Runaways TV show. It’s a great comic and a good story premise, and everything we’ve seen so far has it out to be a solid show. It looks like they’re going to stick pretty close to the real comic.

But that trailer is pretty crummy. It’s crumpled and, I think, fails to get the basic premise across. How does that even happen? We’re living in a Golden Age of movie trailers. Marvel couldn’t get somebody to do better work on that thing?

Runaways comes out on Hulu on November 21.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 10/7/17

Happy New York City Comic-Con Weekend! I didn’t make it out to New York this year, but it’s always a great show! And we’ve heard a lot of cool news so far for the year in comics ahead! And it’s always nice when a big Comic-Con weekend delivers a great comics week!

Lots of great stuff to read this week, with stellar issues of some of my favorites, like Harley Quinn and Iceman! But I’ve got to give Comic Book of the Week to the new issue of Batman, which delivers a solid, powerful conclusion to the War of Jokes and Riddles!

Batman Mary 01

I hope this is in the next Arkham game

Plus, Batman and Catwoman are gonna get married! That’s always fun. I love weddings!

Comic Reviews: Batman #32, Harley Quinn #29, Hawkeye #11 and Iceman #6.

HOLY CRAP! We’re Finally Getting a Proper Multiple Man Action Figure!

Praise be to everything holy in the world! We’re finally getting a proper-sized Multiple Man action figure! We’re finally getting a Marvel Legends Multiple Man! I’m gonna buy 3! No! I’m gonna buy 10!

Madrox Figure 01

It’s obviously not his best costume, but I’ll take it! At least he’s got the trench coat, and it’s not that silly green original costume. Your guess is as good as mine why they didn’t go with any of his modern looks. This body was probably easier to sculpt than the T-shirt and jeans look.

The figure was revealed at New York Comic-Con today and I am over the moon! Longtime readers of this blog will recall my ongoing campaign for Multiple Man merchandise. It just makes sense. If his super-power is to create multiple copies of himself, people are going to buy multiple action figures! That’s more sales for a single character! Duh!

Anyway, this is thrilling news. If anybody needs a Christmas or birthday present idea for me for the next few years, I will gladly accept multiple copies of this action figure. That’s the whole point!

We’re also getting a pretty awesome Prowler action figure. He’s another favorite character of mine.

So this was a pretty great comic-con for action figures!

Brought to You By the Letter ‘H’

Funny happenstance. So there I was reading my regular comics this week, and something kind of hilarious popped up. Apparently, this was the week for Marvel superheroes to hang out on the big letter ‘H’ in the Hollywood sign!

In Iceman, Bobby Drake and Warren Worthington kick back on the H after their Champions reunion to talk about their feelings.

Letter H 01

And then from the new issue of Hawkeye, here’s Kate Bishop standing over the villainous Madame Masque — who is in a clone body of Kate Bishop, which is a long story.

Letter H 02

I’d like to think that these two events happened within only a day or two of each other. Life is just much funnier that way.

Also, we need an Iceman/Hawkeye crossover story! Just because I like awesome things.
