6 USA-Themed Superheroes (Other Than Captain America)

Hooray America! At long last, the people of the United States of America came together to oust Donald J. Trump from the White House! Granted, it was a tight race and a good 70 million+ Americans still voted for that national embarrassment to remain in power, but the only thing that matters in the end is the win for Joe Biden.

So let’s celebrate by recognizing a bunch of fun USA-themed comic book characters!

Let freedom ring

Obviously Captain America is the #1 choice for such a list, but everybody already knows about him. Let’s dig deeper and find some of the more obscure and yet still 100% real America-themed comic book characters! There are a lot more than you’d think. And I’m not just talking about U.S.Agent or Iron Patriot either. Oh no, we’re digging deep for this list and it’s going to be a raucous good time!

Join me after the jump for six United States of America-themed superheroes as we celebrate a Trump-less country.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 11/7/20

Welcome to a brave new world! Or at least that’s what I would be saying if this stupid presidential election would just end already! We know who’s gonna win! And I don’t want to have to keep knocking on wood every time I talk about it! Sheesh!

Comic Book of the Week goes to Mighty Morphin #1, the kick off of the next stage of Power Rangers comics. That new Green Ranger looks damn cool!

As does Pandamonium, I must say

Meanwhile, I’m working my way through the last few seasons of Archer. They’re fine, but the show isn’t as good as the original seasons. And I’m finally going to get to see Tenet! It’s playing in one of the few movie theaters that’s open in my area this afternoon. I already bought my ticket. Here’s hoping I don’t die!

Comic Reviews: Batman #102, Mighty Morphin #1, Thor #9, U.S.Agent #1, X-Men #14 and Marauders #14.

6 Other Super Villains For Whom There Could Be 3

I didn’t read Three Jokers. It sounded silly. And from what I could glean from the internet, it wasn’t very good. But I’m pretty busy at work this week, and the Election in America is very anxiety-inducing, so this is going to be a quick, silly list about triplicated super-villains!

Get it? Because there’s three of them

So yeah, what happened in Three Jokers? I didn’t even read summaries. I guess the Joker went and indoctrinated two other guys to be Jokers as well? Or the Joker has always been multiple people? I don’t know and I don’t care. I’m just going to spend the next half an hour or so coming up with funny entries for comic book super-villains who could maybe have three versions? And the superheroes never found out? Sounds like fun!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 10/31/20

Happy Halloween! What a nice coincidence that the holiday falls on the day I’m reviewing comics. Of course, I’m not reviewing any spooky comics, so the point is moot. But X of Swords keeps getting worse, so that’s something.

Comic Book of the Week goes to Runaways #32 because it’s so nice to have this comic back! And it’s a pretty cute issue.

All of comics!

Meanwhile, I read through The Last Ronin, the futuristic Ninja Turtles story, and it was fun. I’ve been collecting the large, hardcover volumes of the IDWI TMNT series but I haven’t started reading them yet. I think I just like collecting them. So I’m not fully up on my Turtles comic lore. But this first issue is cool…though a bit sparse, in my opinion. This might be better read in the trade.

Also, first new episode of The Mandalorian was great!

Comic Reviews: Drakkon: New Dawn #4, Legion of Super-Heroes #10, Runaways #32, Shang-Chi #2, Strange Academy #4 and X of Swords: Stasis #1.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 10/24/20

It’s one of those weeks folks, where everything seems to be going wrong. Life stinks and there’s no cure. Ugh. But at least I read some quality comics, like Iron Man, Batman, Spider-Woman and yet a couple more X of Swords comics.

Comic Book of the Week goes to the final issue of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers for an exciting introduction to the new Green Ranger…even if they’re going to keep his identity a secret for now.

He has arrived!

Meanwhile, I just finished up the final season of Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts last night and it was fun. Quality show overall. Not too heavy, mostly funny and an all around good time. I highly recommend Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts on Netflix.

Comic Reviews: Batman #101, Iron Man #2, Juggernaut #2, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #55, Spider-Woman #5, Excalibur #13 and X-Men #13.
