Some Maniac Has Decided to Bring Back the Original Robin Costume
A crime has been committed against fashion! Through a flashback in Batman #104, released today, we can clearly see that Dick Grayson’s original Robin costume has been added back to continuity. Short shorts, bare legs and pixie boots included!
Oh what a horror! What a shame! Why must we suffer like this? The New 52 brought on a much cooler, more modern take on Robin’s original costume. It’s a little busy, but it works! And surely it’s better than Robin ever wearing that original 1940s get-up, right?
I get that nostalgia is strong in comic fandom, but come on! Can’t we all agree that the original Robin costume went a long way towards turning the character into the laughing stock he is with the mainstream public? Can’t we all recognize that that costume belongs in the past where it was created?
Robin deserves better than to be reminded of the worst fashion choice in the history of comics, no matter how classic it might be.

Man, oh man! What an awesome episode of The Mandalorian that was! Don’t worry, you’ll find no spoilers here! That was just an exciting episode…far more exciting than this weeks comics, which include new Doctor Doom and a relaunched Power Pack!
Comic Book of the Week goes to the finale to X of Swords. Not because its the best comic of the week, but because it is the most momentous. I’ll give it that.
Meanwhile, I’ve been watching the new Animaniacs revival and it’s fine. I’ve laughed a few times, and am generally enjoying the show. But I don’t think it’s…evolved as it should have. The show doesn’t justify its revival after more than 20 years. And maybe that’s too high a standard to hold the Animaniacs to, but maybe I just feel like being contrarian.
Comic Reviews: Doctor Doom #9, Power Pack #1, X-Men #15, Excalibur #15 and X of Swords: Destruction #1.

Happy Thanksgiving, American friends! The holiday isn’t until Thursday, but this feels like a good time to say something nice about Thanksgiving. Be safe. Wear your mask. Social distance. Do all that good stuff.
Against my better judgement, Comic Book of the Week goes to X-Force #14, due entirely to lack of competition. None of the other comics I read this week were as fun.
Meanwhile, I skipped the newest issue of Spider-Woman. Not much happened. And I’m still enjoying Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Oh, I know! I got around to watching a Hulu show called Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency and it’s very fun! Highly recommended.
Comic Reviews: Batman #103, Juggernaut #3, X-Force #14, Hellions #6 and Cable #6.

I am very much enjoying the new Spider-Man: Miles Morales video game! It’s an extension of the first Spider-Man game on Playstation 4, which itself was a masterpiece. This new game is a Miles Morales-flavored version of that first game, which is pretty fun!
Did you know that there are also a lot of Miles Morales-flavored versions of classic Spider-Man villains?
Miles has been with us since 2011 and he’s easily established himself as a quality Spider-Man in his own right. He’s got his own rogue’s gallery of villains, but one interesting thing about Miles is that he’s started to build up a set of villains who are alternate versions of classic Spider-Man villains. I think it’s neat! And a fun way to celebrate the release of the new game!
So join me after the jump for six classic Spider-Man villains who have been re-imagined in their fight against Miles Morales. Also, expect FULL SPOILERS for the new Spider-Man: Miles Morales video game.

It has been a week since America decided to elect a new President and it’s been a pleasant week at that. I splurged on some new LEGO to celebrate. I bought the new Spider-Man video game. And I read some good to OK comics, like Iron Man and a bunch more X of Swords.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Power Rangers #1 because, just like last week’s Mighty Morphin, the new era of Power Rangers comics at BOOM! is just as much fun as its always been!
Meanwhile, as I mentioned earlier, I picked up Spider-Man: Miles Morales for the Playstation 4 and it’s great! It’s another fun dose of the already beloved Spider-Man PS4 gameplay, only now its Miles Morales-flavored. And the writers and developers went out of their way to find ways to make that special. Miles swings differently than Peter. He fights differently. And he lives differently. It’s great!
Comic Reviews: The Green Lantern: Season Two #9, Iron Man #3, Power Rangers #1, Marauders #15, Excalibur #14 and Wolverine #7.
