Oh Baby, That is a Sweet Multiple Man Cover
I am very excited that Multiple Man, my all-time favorite comic book character, is finally going to return to ongoing comics next month with X-Corp. The real and proper Jamie Madrox hasn’t been in comics since 2013, when X-Factor ended! Then Marvel killed him in 2016 and then replaced him with a surviving duplicate in 2018. It’s been a long, horrible road for Multiple Man fans.
But X-Corp is coming. And in July, we’re going to get this sweet cover by artist David Aja for issue #3.
Oh baby. That’s just…ooo…I’m getting chills here. David Aja is an amazing artist. He was the guy behind the Hawkeye series that I still consider to be the best comic book series of the 2010s, and some of those covers are great!
Here’s the issue blurb for X-Corp #3.
He’s everywhere you want to be. He’s never not in the office. And his direct reports always fall in line. How does X-CORP meet their nearly impossible quotas with maximum synergy and minimal bandwidth? They’ve got Dr. Jamie Madrox, and he’s the world’s best boss.
I love it! He’s a doctor now? Sounds damn good to me! I can’t wait to see this series live up to the hype of the cover art.
And that’s it! Marvel revealed this cover in their July solicitations yesterday and I just had to share. It’s choice.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 4/17/21
We’ve got a hefty week of comics this week! I read a whole ton of books and enjoyed them all, for the most part. Some better than others, as is usually the case. Children of the Atom continues to be OK, Mighty Morphin is great as always, and Far Sector comes one step closer to the end!
Comic Book of the Week goes to Power Pack #5 for a delightful wrap-up to their short mini-series. Ryan North and Nico Leon had a lot of fun with this one, and that always makes me happy.
Meanwhile, I decided to kick off my owning a Nintendo Switch with some Super Mario Odyssey! Such a fun game. I think this is the first time in my life I have ever owned a Nintendo console and the corresponding Mario game. I was always a Game Boy man for the longest time. Feels good to Mario.
Comic Reviews: Children of the Atom #2, Far Sector #11, Iron Man #8, Mighty Morphin #6, Power Pack #5, Thor #14 and Wonder Woman #771.

I love the idea of an X-Men election. I love all the little ways the Krakoa-era is changing things up for mutants and the X-Men. And the idea that they would have the citizens of Krakoa vote on the roster for the official team of X-Men is a great idea!
And today, Marvel revealed that lineup!
The team looks fine. Nothing too crazy or exciting…but maybe that’s just me. We’ve got Cyclops and Jean Grey, with Rogue, Polaris, Sunfire, Synch and Wolverine. Seems a pretty solid lineup. Polaris won the reader poll, so that’s cool. Sunfire is a pretty unique choice. I hope to see great things from him. And Synch and Wolverine are obviously building from that very interesting story Jonathan Hickman has been running with, when they took on the Children of the Vault.
Unfortunately, Hickman won’t be writing the new ongoing X-Men series starring this roster. Gerry Duggan will be writing. And while I’ve liked what work of his I’ve read, I think his Marauders has gotten a bit lost in the weeds recently. But I’m going to remain positive.
Still, Strong Guy would have looked great on this team.

Polaris Wins the X-Men Vote!
Turns out, Polaris is far more popular than I had any idea! And it turns out that Marvel was going to reveal the winner of the X-Men vote today!
I didn’t expect to get an answer until the Hellfire Gala itself. But huzzah for these fun little comics. Zeb Wells wrote the strip, with art by David Massini and Rachelle Cheri.
Polaris and the new squad will be part of an X-Men comic written by Gerry Duggan this summer, with art by Pepe Larrazz. I was hoping Jonathan Hickman would be writing the comic, but I’m sure Duggan will be fine.
Congrats to Polaris and her apparently many fans.

A Bunch More Good X-Men Also Did Not Get Picked
This week, Marvel has been rolling out more and more of these short strips about the X-Men characters who did not get voted on for membership in the new X-Men roster. I was mostly disappointed that Strong Guy did not make the cut. But there’s also Marrow and Armor.
And Tempo and Boom Boom.
And Sunspot and Cannonball.
C’mon, voting public! Nobody voted for Marrow, Armor, Boom Boom or Tempo? Those all would have been exciting choices for a the flagship X-Men team! We could have had some real shakeups!
Instead, the only remaining candidates are Polaris, who is already starring in X-Factor, and Banshee, who I would be fine with. I’ve always liked Banshee, and he’s been dead for a good long while. Having him back on an X-Men team would be pretty fun.
We’ll find out the winner at the Hellfire Gala in June!
Zeb Wells wrote all of these shorts, with colors by Rachelle Cheri and art by Emilio Laiso on the first one, Nico Leon on the second one and Diego Olortegui on the last one. These were all super fun! And, again, highlight the need for an X-Men anthology book that explores these minor characters on Krakoa. I think that would be fun!
