You-Know-Who is Finally Back in Spider-Man Comics — About a Decade Too Late!

There was a big, huge, super crazy and explosive character twist in the latest issue of the Clone Conspiracy, writer Dan Slott’s latest Spider-Man event comic. This was the sort of reveal that would crack the Internet in half!

Santa Claus is a scientist

And had it happened 10 years ago, I would probably be over the moon. But as it is, I’m mostly meh about the twist. It couldn’t have happened at a more boring time. And I’m filled with little but dread at the future possibilities.

I don’t want to spoil the reveal in case somebody really super cares, so join me after the jump for the real discussion.

The 6 Wickedest Vertigo Villains

A week or so ago, I was diagnosed with benign positional vertigo, and it sucks. Basically, a bunch of bits and pieces inside my head landed in the wrong part of my inner ear, giving me a bad case of the dizzies. It’s not total vertigo, where the room feels like it’s spinning and I can’t walk straight. I basically just get a wibbly wobbly feeling when I turn my head, making things a bit fuzzy and putting me off balance. And there’s no cure!

Sounds like something a super-villain might do, eh?

I probably shouldn't watch this movie

Thankfully, the doctor was able to put me through a couple maneuvers that shifted the bits and pieces around a little bit. He didn’t fix the problem completely, but he definitely lessened the wobbliness to manageable levels. Now I have to hope it goes away, and I’ve got drugs to dull the headaches or the nausea. I’m surviving.

And since this sounds like a perfectly reasonable thing to compare to comic books, I looked up some super-villains who use vertigo-based powers! It’s definitely a super-villain thing. Ugh.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 12/3/16

I come to you people more the worse for wear. I got some crummy medical news the other day about some inner ear/balance problems that I kind of just need to suck up and deal with. Ugh. It’s just generally crummy. So forgive me for any noticeable typos or bad attitudes.

Fortunately, not many comics came out this week, considering it was a fifth week in November. So we’ve only got a couple comics, from the new debut of Ghost Rider to the next exciting Power Rangers issue! The latter easily wins Comic Book of the Week for more out-of-the-box ideas!

The Red Green Power Ranger!

Ms. Marvel also came out with a new issue this week, but it quickly morphed into a big election PSA. Like, I had to go back and check the cover to make sure this wasn’t some kind of free handout. It gets really in depth about the ins and outs of voting…even though Election Day was several weeks ago. Not quite sure what was going on there, and it was a little too hopeful about the election to actually review.

Comic Reviews: Ghost Rider #1, Great Lakes Avengers #2 and Mighty Mophin Power Rangers #9.

Cyclops Was Right Yet Again, Let Me Count the Ways

For the past year of X-Men comics, the once glorious Cyclops has been hailed as nothing short of the next Hitler. He’s been on this trajectory for awhile now, but comics took an 8-month jump at the beginning of the year, and everybody was very hush hush that not only had Cyclops died, but he died doing something absolutely horrendous to the Inhumans.

Well the big mystery was revealed in the conclusion of Death of X last week, but all that it revealed was that Cyclops is a true hero, now and forever.

Now and forever

Now and forever

I don’t know what the heck Marvel is doing. Either they don’t understand what it means to be a super-villain, or this is the greatest long con in superhero comics history. Part of me is leaning towards the latter.

Join me after the jump for the latest revelation, as well as all the reasons why Cyclops has been right for years. I really do think Marvel is toying with us.

The 6 Best Dinosaur Superheroes

As I embark on my own potential comic book career with Gamer Girl & Vixen (pre-order the graphic novel today!), I’m finding it very interesting how few awesome concepts get turned into superheroes. There are very few sports-themed superheroes, even though sports are pretty much currency here in America. There are very few dog-themed superheroes, despite an overabundance of cat sueprheroes.

And there are very few dinosaur-themed superheroes, even though dinosaurs are awesome!

Yes, this was awesome too

Yes, this was awesome too

We’ve got bat superheroes, spider superheroes, wolverine superheroes, cat super-villains and nearly everything else under the sun. But dinosaurs get a pass. Why is that? For that matter, why aren’t there more dinosaur everythings? Why is there only one popular movie franchise about dinosaurs? Jurassic Park doesn’t own dinosaurs as a concept! They belong to the whole world!

Join me after the jump for a true dinosaur celebration, as I managed to find at least six dinosaur comic book characters!
