Pokemon Generations is Apparently a Thing, is Amazing
So, uh, I don’t really know here these have come from, but Nintendo and Pokemon are putting out a series of cartoon shorts that explore some of the behind-the-scenes world of Pokemon. I think these are also based more on the games than the show, which sounds good to me! These Pokemon Generations shorts are just fascinating. And really high quality.
Three episodes have been release so far and they’re great!

My 6 Favorite Cartoons of All Time (This Week)
I have watched cartoons for my entire life. As a child in the 1980s, I was the perfect target for the glut of toy commercial cartoons that filled the airwaves (and now our movie screens). The ’90s saw not only the rise of Fox Kids and after school cartoons, but also the coming of The Simpsons and prime time animated entertainment. I sat through Nicktoons, Cartoon Network and Adult Swim, and now I’m basking in a golden age of smart, intelligent and often amazing cartoons like BoJack Horseman and Steven Universe.
So through all these long years, which ones are my all-time favorites?
By popular demand, I’ve finally sat down and figured out my six favorite cartoon shows of all time — at least for this week. This list is subject to change on a whim, but I think it’s pretty rooted in solid cartoon enjoyment. I had to dig deep on this one, and it pained me to cast some of my favorites into the ‘Honorable Mentions’ at the bottom. But these six are truly some of the greats.
For the sake of my sanity and memory, we’re sticking to television cartoon shows. There are plenty of animated movies and web cartoons that are genius, but we’ll save those for another day, perhaps. And please feel free to share your own favorites in the comments below!
6 More Great Cameos on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Hello, everypony! Welcome to another List of Six about one of my favorite cartoons, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. If you didn’t know, I’m a total brony, but not in any of those weird, private ways. Those people are entitled to their own lives, I just like the show. It’s well-made, has relatable and interesting characters, and is clearly put together by a bunch of pop-culture loving geeks like me! Why do I say this? Because the animators like to cram a ton of awesome pop culture references into the background of nearly every episode! I chronicled some of the best cameos in a previous List a few years ago.
And now I’m back to do it again!
Since writing the last list, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has kept producing new episodes and seasons like any other non-cancelled show. And with age comes daring do, it seems, because there have been even more cameos than before! Heck, some of the pop culture reference characters have even joined the show and gotten speaking parts. I’ve gotten a couple henchies commenting to let me know about some of the new cameos, so I’ve decided to whip up another awesome cameo list!
Join me after the jump and enjoy!
Speaking of Batman Movies…
I haven’t seen Batman: The Killing Joke yet, and I don’t think I will. I haven’t been a fan of the DC animated movies for awhile now, and this one just sounds terrible. Thankfully, Honest Trailers sums it up for me nicely.
Honestly, I don’t even know if I’ve read The Killing Joke comic…

My 6 Favorite Animated Movies of All Time (This Week)
I went and saw Kubo and the Two Strings last weekend, excited by the captivating trailers. It was a fine film and quite enjoyable, but not the epic adventure I was hoping to see. A student of art craft would probably love it a lot more, considering all the work that LAIKA studios put into the stop-motion animation. But I’m not very good at marveling at that sort of thing. I just enjoyed a nice movie.
And seeing a quality animated film on the big screen has me wondering about all the animated films I’ve loved in the past! I’m a huge fan of cartoons and have watched so many in my lifetime that I’ve probably forgotten a few. Right now, BoJack Horseman and Steven Universe are probably the two best TV shows on the air. And films like Finding Dory and The Secret Lives of Pets are two of the hottest films of an otherwise disappointing summer. Loving cartoons is just who am I.
So join me after the jump for my six favorite cartoon movies of all time — at least right now. Whims and memories could change these at any moment! And feel free to share your own favorites in the comments.
