6 Thoughts on the First Season of DuckTales
The first season of the DuckTales cartoon revival ended a couple weeks ago, and I finally got around to watching the last string of episodes this past weekend, including the epic finale. Considering how much I’ve ranted about the show on this blog, I wanted to give my thoughts on the first season. For the most part, I liked it!
TV Show Rating: 8/10 – Very Good.
I was originally going to review the first season of Disenchantment, Matt Groening’s new Netflix cartoon, but I immediately lost all interest in that List of Six after I stopped working on it for a couple days. Mostly I just wanted to write about how much I disliked Elfo.
Whereas I like pretty much everybody on DuckTales and I think it’s a worthy reboot of this beloved cartoon from my childhood. It’s got some obvious flaws here and there, but on a whole, it was an enjoyable show. And I’m excited for future seasons.

How About Some Marvel Cartoons?
I dunno you guys, I haven’t been getting the proper amount of sleep this week. I am beat! And I don’t know what else to post today. So how about an official collection of all the Marvel Rising: Initiation cartoons? I dunno, they’re pretty fun. And it’s got awesome animated cartoon Squirrel Girl teaming up with awesome animated cartoon Kamala Khan! That’s pretty darn cool!
Though the funniest thing is how badly Marvel wants to change the name of Spider-Gwen to Ghost Spider. It’s insane. How does that name even work? Just because her Spider-Girl outfit is white? I thought these people were professional writers?

Our First Look at Star Wars: Resistance!
I’ve been a big fan of the animated Star Wars cartoons, even if I was hesitant to get into either Clone Wars or Rebels. I liked them both in the end. So the fact that I’m a touch leery about this first trailer for Star Wars: Resistance is probably a good sign.
I’ve never been a particular fan of that animation style. If the Resistance team wanted to go for a more anime look — which I think they’ve said — they should have gone the Voltron route, with traditional anime characters and then computer animated ships. I think that’d be a great look for Star Wars.
I’m also not 100% sold on this story, where the young, white, male protagonist is both a racing superstar and a hotshot Rebel pilot. But like I said, I was trepidatious about Rebels, so we’ll see!

How About Some Avengers Stuff?
Avengers: Infinity War came out on DVD this week, so of course the internet was awash in Avengers-related videos and articles and whatnot. That’s how the internet works nowadays. And if I had any skill whatsoever, I would have done something too, instead of randomly talking about Venom instead.
But speaking of Avengers: Infinity War, how about an Honest Trailer?
Gotta love those things! They’re the bread and butter of the internet.
But how about I do you one better and deliver an 8-bit recreation of the Avengers vs. Thanos fight!
That was put together by those fine folks at Mr. Sunday Movies, a favorite vlogger of mine.
Gotta love all this neat Avengers stuff! Good way to kill some minutes in the day!

Deadpool 2 is Out on DVD Soon, So Here’s the First YouTube Parody Cartoon
Gotta love these fun little videos, and How It Should Have Ended is one of the good ones! Their Deadpool 2 video was apparently written from fan submissions! And some of those are pretty funny.
Except all the parts where it seems like the HISHE crew is just writing their own Deadpool fan fiction. Like, the alternate scenes/endings stuff takes up less than half of the video before they go on an extended riff connected to their Infinity War video. I would congratulate the film for not also falling back on their Superman/Batman cafe scenes, but they make sure to get in an extended Batman riff, too.
Eh, still a fun video to laze about with on a Thursday.
