Batman: Caped Crusader Looks Pretty Sweet!
There’s a new Batman cartoon coming! We haven’t had one of those in a few years, and this one looks to be pretty spiffy! Batman: Caped Crusader is going to focus on Batman in a 1920s/30s/40s aesthetic, I don’t know which decade this looks to be exactly. It’s all tommy guns and gangsters in full suits. I love the look and feel of the show, based on this first trailer.
As always, I hope we get Robin eventually. But even without the Boy Wonder, this looks very awesome to me. I love the look, I love the feel, I love the focus this trailer puts on detective work. I love the sense of Batman being this lone crusader working from the shadows, instead of already being an omnipresent superhero of might. This trailer looks great!
Batman: Caped Crusader is coming to Amazon Prime starting Aug. 1!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 6/22/24
Another week where a lot of my favorite comics come out! But I’m not reviewing everything anymore these days. Some times a new comic is just really enjoyable, but there’s not much I have to say about it, so to spare my sanity sometimes, I’m just not going to include it. Looking at you, latest excellent issue of Nightwing…But we do have new Batman and Ultimate Spider-Man comics!
Comic Book of the Week goes to Wonder Woman #10 for a truly emotional and heartfelt issue that finally addresses the Cheetah in the room.
Meanwhile, not much else going on for me right now. I’m juggling a few different video games until I settle on something big and new. Maybe Elden Ring, finally? I’m not really vibing with The Acolyte, haven’t started The Boys. Haven’t read any of my big pile of graphic novels. Moving along nicely on making Gamer Girl & Vixen. And surviving this heat wave. So yeah, just kinda strolling along through life.
Comic Reviews: Batman #149, Ultimate Spider-Man #6 and Wonder Woman #10.
Read the rest of this entryHere’s a New Look at that Penguin TV Show (No, the New One)
The Penguin is still coming to Max, now set for a September release. I’m excited. I very much enjoyed The Batman movie and I think it’s a great idea to actually see that spin off into a legitimate TV show. Plus, TV has been making successful and enjoyable crime shows for decades. Surely somebody can take that winning formula and apply it to Gotham City, right?!
I think it looks good. Colin Farrell is obviously going to great lengths to bring this character to life, and he was very entertaining in The Batman. So just apply that to a hopefully gripping, dangerous and exciting crime show and we could have magic happen! And then, hopefully, somebody will just turn Gotham Central into a TV show as well, in the same universe.
And hopefully they won’t be afraid to use Batman, at least a little.
The Penguin comes to Max in September.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 6/8/24
We’re back with more comic book reviews! I do apologize that these will be more haphazard from me going forward. Sometimes there just aren’t any comics coming out that I really have an opinion on. And sometimes I can be pretty lazy. But this week saw some solid releases, like Batman and The Ultimates.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Scarlett #1 for a clean, enjoyable new chapter in the ongoing Energon Universe.
Meanwhile, I beat God of War: Ragnarok and it was an excellent game! Just as big and fun as the first. I’ve burned through a couple of TV shows. I enjoyed Mr. and Mrs. Smith, didn’t care for the first two episodes of The Acolyte and absolutely adored Hazbin Hotel. That show lives up to all its hype! This weekend is the third and final season of Sweet Tooth, so hopefully that’s fun.
This week also saw the final issue of the Krakoa Era for X-Men, but I checked out awhile ago, so it won’t be reviewed this week. Bring on From the Ashes!
Comic Reviews: Batman #148, The Boy Wonder #2, Scarlett #1 and The Ultimates #1.
Read the rest of this entryI Actually Like the Trailer for Joker: Folie a Deux
I wasn’t a big fan of the first Joker movie. It was dark and misanthropic, which is what it was going for, and just wasn’t my cup of tea. Well we’re getting a sequel that introduces Harley Quinn, played by Lady Gaga, and now we’ve got our first trailer! And I actually like this trailer.
I’m a big fan of musicals, and turning Joker 2 into a musical should be a hoot. They definitely turned it into a good musical trailer. Will that mean the movie is good? I don’t know. I doubt these films will ever be my cup of tea. But I shall never yick somebody else’s yum. So huzzah this movie!
Joker: Folie a Deux comes to theaters on Oct. 4.
