Movie Trailer Monday Brings Gail Daughtry and Poochie
It’s Monday. I’m on vacation. And I just this morning came across a new movie trailer that I absolutely wanted to share. And I’m gonna add on a second movie trailer for a movie I’m excited for later this summer…but this second trailer is so weird.
Anyway, let’s start off with Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass, which seems to be one of those kooky adventure comedies where Hollywood just has some fun. What sets this one apart is that it’s directed by David Wain, who made Wet Hot American Summer and They Came Together, two absolutely stellar kooky comedies.
Looks fun, as far as I’m concerned. Silly premise and just seems to get kookier in the offing. That should make for a pretty fun comedy. I think I’m gonna try to find this one in theaters.
Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass comes out on July 10.
Next up is a second trailer for Forgotten Island. I really, really loved the first trailer for this movie. It’s from the Puss in Boots: The Last Wish team and looks like it.
But now we’ve got this second trailer…
So, uh…that’s definitely Poochie, the rockin’ dawg. What the heck happened? The first trailer looked great, with a focus on the two girls and losing their memories on a mysterious, mythical island. Now this second trailer adds a really unnecessary sidekick, and the voice of Dave Franco just makes it…worse somehow. I also don’t like the villain. I dunno. The first trailer seemed bigger. But now it’s introducing specific extra characters that, I feel, bring the whole thing down a notch. I guess we’ll see.
Forgotten Island comes to theaters on Sept. 25.

Put Forgotten Island On Your Radar
I’ll admit, when I first saw the thumbnail for this Forgotten Island trailer, I thought it looked rather low budget, and the title doesn’t do it any favors. But trust me and watch this trailer. Forgotten Island is from the people behind Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, and the trailer looks to be more of the same quality.
That was pretty darn cool! I like the characters. I love the animation! The story seems quite excellent. The visuals are resplendent. This could hopefully be a nice sleeper hit! Dreamworks isn’t washed up!
Forgotten Island comes to theaters on Sept. 25.

Various Trailer Friday!
Due to sheer laziness, I haven’t been posting as much as I probably should be these past few weeks. Just how I’m rolling these days, I guess. But I have been holding onto movie and TV trailers in case I ever do post more. And now I’m just gonna share a bunch, in case you haven’t seen them yet.
First up, this just came out yesterday, is a final trailer for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, the next Game of Thrones spin-off. This one looks good, I think.
I haven’t watched any of House of the Dragon. I’m not sure why. It’s supposed to be good. I just don’t have any interest in that corner of Westeros. But this one looks fun, following hedge knight Ser Duncan the Tall as he fumbles his way through being a knight, alongside his street urchin squire, Egg. Looks like a fun blend of comedy and heroic action.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms comes to HBO Max on Jan. 18.
Next up is a movie trailer for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come. The first film was a great horror comedy, and I can only hope the sequel is just as much fun.
Looks fun already! Kinda crappy that the main character gets immediately thrown into another death game. And I don’t quite think the escalation works as well as it could, given the story of the original, but I guess we’ll see. Let us hope for the best!
Ready or Not: Here I Come comes to theaters on April 10.
Another movie coming out next year is Project Hail Mary, from the same author who wrote The Martian. That’s a good sign. Be careful, there’s apparently a very big spoiler in the trailer that the studio has decided to just give away because it’s a major part of the movie anyway. I don’t mind being spoiled about this.
Yeah, this looks fun. It’s got the same love for science as The Martian, and seemingly the same sense of humor. Ryan Gosling is always fun. And it’s directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who have made some incredible films and probably can do no wrong.
Project: Hail Mary comes to theaters on March 20.
Lastly, it’s the next Pixar film, Hoppers, which looks about the same as any other recent Pixar film. They have really fallen from grace.
I haven’t even seen Elio, and I’m pretty sure it’s free for me to watch on Disney+. I just can’t be bothered. And I probably won’t be bothered with Hoppers. It’s no Mitchells vs the Machines! But it is coming out, and maybe some of you are into that sort of thing.
Hoppers comes to theaters on March 6.

NYC Comic-Con Trailers Already! Like Game of Thrones and The Mighty Nein!
New York Comic-Con has kicked off and I’m not there. I’ve got work and stuff. But a bunch of trailers have already arrived online, and I’ve compiled them into this nice big blog post. It’s probably not every trailer that’s come out so far, but it’s all the ones that caught my eye, and that’s really what this blog is all about: me!
First up is the first trailer for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, another Gamer of Thrones spin-off. I haven’t seen a single episode of House of the Dragon, but I obviously enjoyed the original and this one looks like fun!
Maybe I’ll give this one a shot. Or maybe I’ll finally watch House of the Dragon. It’s hard to say with me. I watch and don’t watch all sorts of things. But this trailer makes the show look very fun, with solid production values and some good main characters. That’s good enough for me!
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms comes to HBO MAX on Jan. 18.
Next up is a trailer for the second season of Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the animated spin-off from the Mutant Mayhem movie.
Looks great! I loved Mutant Mayhem. I loved the first season of Tales. They introduced a fun new mutant I really like: Lee the Eel! And this second season looks to bring in Old Hob from the IDW comics, as well as possibly Tokka and Rahzar! I want this show to use existing mutants! That’s half the fun of seeing new adaptations of the Turtles, to see the new adaptations of classic characters as well! So I’m fully on board.
Season two of Tales of the TMNT comes to Paramount+ in December.
Let’s move on to a trailer for The Mighty Nein, the second campaign from Critical Role. I am not a Critter, which is what I think CR fans are called. I’ve never watched their D&D show, but I’ve seen clips, and all those clips are from The Mighty Nein sessions, so I’m very excited about this new adaptation!
And it looks great! The characters and voice-acting will be the highlights, and I can’t wait to see some of my favorite clips turned into actual animated TV show.
The Mighty Nein comes to Prime Video on Nov. 19, which is soon!
The last trailer to catch my attention is the one for Pluribus, a weird, sci-fi show by Vince Gilligan, the guy behind Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. I loved both those shows so I’m obviously excited for this new one!
And we should all be excited! Looks sufficiently weird and sufficiently sci-fi. And we know we can trust Vince Gilligan.
Pluribus…or maybe it’s Plur1bus…comes to AppleTV+ on Nov. 7, which is even sooner! Neat!

Monday is for Only Murders in the Building
August has been a pretty wild dead zone for new content to share. I mostly only share trailers these days because I’ve just been really busy this summer. But things are calming down at work finally, and I actually do have a new trailer to share.
It’s the fifth season of Only Murders in the Building! I love this show.
Looks like a fun new season to me! I definitely recommend giving it a watch if you’ve never seen Only Murders in the Building. It’s earned it’s five seasons. Steve Martin and Martin Short are great as always, and Selena Gomez has been an excellent addition to their antics. They’re a great core crew for a great show.
The fifth season arrives on Hulu — which is getting incorporated directly into Disney+ — on Sept. 9.
