Let’s Start the New Year with the CGP Grey Flag Saga
If you don’t watch CGP Grey on YouTube, consider this a solid introduction to his content. The dude is smart and he makes smart and funny videos about a wide range of niche topics. I’m a guy who can definitely get behind passion for niche projects. Recently, he updated his flag tier video saga, so I figured I’d share the whole thing.
Basically, Grey makes a tier list of all the United States state flags, and then he released a video this holiday season ranking the Canadian province flags! Neat!
First up is the U.S. flags. It came out in April, but I’m sharing it now.
The guy makes a lot of sense. I’ve never liked the New York State flag. It’s ugly and needs a redesign!
Then, a few weeks ago, Grey announced an epilogue to his flag saga in which the state of Minnesota revealed a new flag redesign! I think they’ve picked their new design finalist — they have — but here’s Grey’s introduction to the ones in the running. I think this video turned me on to Grey’s whole flag saga.
I like the new design!
And lastly, he released the Canada video as a Christmas present, so huzzah! More CGP Grey Flag Content!
Happy New Year, everybody! Here’s to me posting more videos, movie trailers, nonsensical lists and comic reviews! I’m gonna go see Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom tomorrow, so expect a list soon of me ranking all the DCEU movies. Until then, fare thee well.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 12/30/23
Happy New Year, everyone! In a few short nights, it’ll be 2024, and we can all keep moving on with our lives. Thankfully, we’ve got some solid, enjoyable enough comics to end the current year with, like Power Rangers and She-Hulk.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Duke #1 for an exciting and fun start to the new G.I. Joe comics in the Energon Universe. No Snake Eyes yet, though. Hopefully they’re saving him for some thing good.
Meanwhile, I had a great Christmas with the family! Met the new baby. Got some great presents, some great comics to read. My brother’s housemate got me an air fryer! That should be fun. And it was a pleasure, as always, to see family. Good time was had by all. No plans for New Year’s Eve, though. Probably just video games and movies. Currently enjoying the second season of Marvel’s What If…?
Comic Reviews: Duke #1, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #115 and Sensational She-Hulk #3

I never liked the look or even the general idea of the new Wonka movie, the Willy Wonka origin story. But then it started getting a ton of good reviews, and I decided to give it a try at my local movie theater — and I didn’t care for it. The movie is bright, colorful, fun and whimsical, all things I normally enjoy, but I couldn’t get over the obnoxious insistence on being a Willy Wonka origin story. Every little Easter Egg was like that time we learned the meaning behind Han Solo’s last name.
But let’s not hold that against the Willy Wonka character! Who is now animated!
Tell It Animated is getting better at releasing their videos closer to the actual release date of the new movie/show/comic. So that’s nice. This was another solid video.
And as always, my recommendation for his next video is Robin!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 12/23/23
Merry Christmas, everyone! By the time you’re reading this, I’ll be on the road to join my family for a nice holiday weekend! Should be a blast. And as a Christmas present to me this year, all of my favorite DC comics came out, like Nightwing and Superman!
Comic Book of the Week goes to Wonder Woman #4 because this series continues to fire on all god damned cylinders!
Meanwhile, there won’t be any posts on the blog until probably Wednesday, because I’ll be out of town. But Wednesday will be my annual list of the things I enjoyed most this year, like my favorite comic, TV show, movie and video game. Speaking of video games, I’m currently enjoying Project Zomboid in early access on Steam. It’s neat!
Comic Reviews: Nightwing #109, Superman #9 and Wonder Woman #4.
