Sin City 2 Has Some Trouble with Dames

Dames! Ain’t nothin’ but trouble. Amiright, fellas and other dames? They’re trouble for everybody. Especially everybody in Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For. I know me a few of those…

The movie is looking good! Though I’m definitely afraid that it’s just going to be another 300: Rise of an Empire. Though I think the 300 2 trailers looked lousy. This trailer looks…mostly good. Lightning doesn’t strike twice in the same place, folks. But nearly everybody is back for some more Sin City. That has to be a good thing, right?

So Many New Trailers

Comic-Con came to an end on Sunday, and while there wasn’t too much big news coming out of the last few panels, there are some snippets we can all enjoy, like trailers. Unfortunately, all the test footage from Batman v. Superman, Avengers 2, Ant-Man, Warcraft and others isn’t going to hit the web anytime soon. But there are some official trailers we can enjoy on this mind.

Trailers like…

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1

Gotham

Mad Max: Fury Road

Constantine

And stay tuned later today for a possible trailer for The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies!

First Look at Movie Wonder Woman

Comic-Con is in full swing today, and DC Comics/Warner Bros. has unveiled the first image of Wonder Woman from the upcoming film, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (which will include a Wonder Woman cameo).

That must be the invisible jet behind her

I like it! Looks tough and Wonder Womany. Not very colorful…but that’s OK. I probably didn’t want her wearing star-spangled panties. These DC movies just aren’t going to be very colorful, we have to accept that. They’re gonna be dark and dreary. So in that sense, this costume looks good.

Arrow and Walking Dead Trailers

San Diego Comic-Con is dropping all manner of cool pop culture news on us this weekend! If I was a better blogger, and didn’t have that dentist appointment yesterday, I would be covering more of it. But cavities make fools of us all, and I’m only getting around to some of the good stuff now. But you can bet there will be even more awesomeness over the weekend, so stay tuned.

Though for now, I can share with you this cool trailer for Arrow Season 3. It’s mostly awesome. I still don’t like Amanda Waller, though.

Also, for all you Arrow fans, one of the Season 3 episodes is going to be entitled ‘Oracle’ and will reveal Felicity Smoak’s backstory. We all know what that name signifies, and we might just learn that Felicity was college classmates with one Barbara Gordon! That would be pretty darn cool. Oracle was actually on my original list of DC characters I wanted to see on Arrow!

Moving on to another comic book show, we have a trailer for The Walking Dead Season 5. This trailer looks pretty awesome.

Obviously it spoilers the cliffhanger ending of Season 4…but I think I’m OK with that. The Walking Dead still looks great.

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 7/26/14

Wow, what a week for DC Comics! I bet they planned it this way, to align with San Diego Comic-Con: new issues of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman all came out this week. And technically, Batman and Robin also came out, so there are your four major DC characters all in one week. Heck, new issues of Aquaman and Flash also came out this week. We practically had a full Justice League in solo comics! Neat!

And they were all pretty good quality too! At least the ones I read. Batman brought Zero Year to a close. Wonder Woman keeps blazing towards a climactic ending. And Superman keeps insisting that new character Ulysses is interesting! That part’s not going very well.

On the Marvel side, we’ve got…Amazing Spider-Man. That’s the only Marvel Comic I really read this week. Though I did read and review Storm #1 for Word of the Nerd! I felt that issue deserved a bigger review, so check that out. Comic Book of the Week goes to Batman and Robin #33, for a damn cool and exciting issue that really proves the kind of man Batman can be.

Though moment of the week goes to Wonder Woman #33 – even if that issue was also full of bad moments.

We’ll get to the bad moments in the actual review.

Comic Reviews: Amazing Spider-Man #4, Batman #33, Batman and Robin #33, Batman Eternal #16, Superman #33 and Wonder Woman #33.
