Some Minor Prowler News to Salvage Today
I was supposed to have something really exciting to share with everybody today! I waited all day for it to show up, but nope, it didn’t. I guess I’ll have to share it tomorrow. Still, man, how disappointing? Have you ever checked and rechecked a website all day waiting for something awesome to get posted, only for the mysterious forces of the Internet to fail you? Alas.
Anyway, rather than wallow in disappointment, I thought I’d share a tidbit of news that came over the Internet this week: the Prowler is going to be a supporting character in the new Amazing Spider-Man comic!
I love the Prowler! He’s one of my all-time favorite comic book characters, especially in the Spider-Man books. I love that Peter has a legit superhero friend out there who isn’t a love interest and isn’t just a different A-list hero. He’s just a good guy who pals around with Spidey sometimes. So finding out that he’s going to be a player in the new, relaunched Amazing Spider-Man series was some welcome, geeky news.
Hopefully stay tuned tomorrow for my really exciting news!

Everything Wrong With The Two Towers
Unlike recent EWW episodes, this one tearing down The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers comes in under a svelte 7 minutes, with less than 60 sins! I guess they know good movies when they see them too. Good times!
Perhaps in critiquing the best of the Lord of the Rings movies, the Cinema Sins folks realized they needed to up their game! The nitpicks and sins are actually really good in this video. Funny, insightful, and make a lot of sense. Hopefully I’ll forget them all the next time I marathon The Lord of the Rings films!

My 6 Favorite Zombie Video Games
Zombies are everywhere! Or, at least, they’re still around, following that big zombie craze from a few years ago. The desire for all things zombie has sort of faded, but they are still a ubiquitous presence in our favorite entertainment. I should know, since I’ve spent the past week playing a marathon session of Dead Rising 3! Finally beat it last night! It was at the top of the list of games I’d play once I got a bigger, better computer!
I’ll probably stop bragging about my computer at some point, I promise. In fact, let’s spend today jawing about zombie video games! There are so many! And I’ve been having so much fun with the latest Dead Rising that I’ve decided to list my favorite zombie video games! Join me after the jump for all the brain-eating glory, and please share some of your own favorites in the comments!
DC Presents: “How to Make the Vision on a TV Show Budget”
So the first image of Red Tornado from the upcoming Supergirl TV show hit the Internet last week, and, well…I’m less than impressed. It’s made the rounds a lot so far, but I figure I should post it anyway for posterity. Someday, future geeks will dig through the Internet like archaeologists and will hopefully stumble upon my site. They’re going to want to know what I thought about a random TV character in a superhero TV show circa 2015.
That’s actor Iddo Goldberg in the Red Tornado gear, and, well…just look at the poor guy! Red Tornado is an android in the comics, and I think they’re carrying that story over into the Supergirl TV show. But he’s definitely an android on a budget. The face, obviously, harkens back to the Vision from Age of Ultron. And that suit, jeez. They clearly wanted the segmented look of a good Iron Man armor, but that is clearly just lines painted on felt. That’s not an android body armor, that’s a shirt.
Hopefully it’ll look better in live action. And we better not see a different Red Tornado in Arrow or The Flash, because I’m still holding out hope for a crossover!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 9/19/15
I tell ya, I honestly forgot how good it felt to have a real, fully working new video game to dive into. I never got around to buying a PS 4 or an X-Bone, and my PC has been out of date for a long time. I’ve spent the past year playing either old X-Box 360 games or PC games where I had to shrink the screen and lower the graphics to the bottom wrung to get even some movement out of them. But wowzers does it feel good to have a brand new, fully upgraded computer gaming machine!
My current list is Witcher 3, Dead Rising 3 and Divinity: Original Sin. Feels good!
As for comics, we’ve got some treats this week! New issues of Harley Quinn and Lumberjanes don’t fail to entertain, though I’m still not won over by the new Secret Six. Fortunately, the main Star Wars series is still pretty amazing, and wins Comic Book of the Week for its exciting, mythology-based story — and probably the coolest Chewbacca moment in years.
Someday, I expect to get a Chewbacca vs. Black Krrsantan battle out of these Marvel comics. If that doesn’t happen, then Disney buying Marvel was completely for naught! Naught, I say!
Comic Ratings: Harley Quinn #20, Lumberjanes #18, Secret Six #6 and Star Wars #9.
