6 Coolest Pop Culture Tree People (Not Named Groot)
The best laid plans of mice and men…I had the idea for this List of Six about a year ago. I knew that the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel was coming, and I thought this would make a neat list to post the week that movie came out. It would have been neat synergy! But then something happened to my brain and I forgot all about it. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 came and went (and was spectacular).
No longer the cutest Groot
Everybody loves Groot. He’s fantastic. He’s one of the only Guardians characters I actually like in the comics. Heck, I liked him before he was cool, back when the modern Guardians got their true start in the pages of Annihilation: Conquest. Groot is the best tree.

The Internet Delivers Batman and Superman as Pokemon Trainers
The Internet is an amazing place filled with amazing people. Today, I bring you one of the neatest things ever: a fully-animated cartoon where Batman and Superman are Pokemon trainers. This is wild, people.
We have the Cartoon Hooligans to thank for this one. I bet they make a lot of cartoons. You should go check them out to prove me right! For now, good job, animators!

Honestly, I Really Liked the Power Rangers Movie
Power Rangers is one of my favorite films so far this year, and I’ve made it a point to see a lot of movies this year. The only exception is Transformers: The Last Knight. For reasons I do not yet know, my local movie theater did not play Transformers this weekend. I kind of hope they’re taking a stand against garbage, but that doesn’t make any sense.
Anyway, back to the point, Honest Trailer for Power Rangers, go go!
The movie has great characters, it treats them well and it treats them like real people. That’s a major plus for me. The costumes and the Zords look cool, and they have a lot of fun with it.
I sure do hope we get a sequel. I want me some Green Ranger on the big screen, gosh darn it!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 6/24/17
Woo boy, do we have a wallop of a column today. As I’ve whined about in the past, all of my favorite comics tend to have the habit of coming out in the same week. Or maybe I’m just reading too many comics. Whatever the case may be, I went all out and have reviewed nearly a dozen comics this week!
We’ve got Power Rangers, we’ve got a new Spider-Man comic, we’ve got Luke Cage and Iceman, and I tried to throw in more DC comics, like Batman, Harley Quinn and hopefully the start of my Aquaman coverage. Thankfully, there were some real gems this week.
But the standout, as has been said numerous times, is the new issue of Silver Surfer. This consistent Comic Book of the Week is going to break my damn heart.
I almost jumped back into reviewing The Mighty Thor now that the Shi’ar story arc is over, but this week was a standalone issue to introduce The War Thor…which, I guess, is similar to The War Doctor? It was a fine issue, and I suppose this new concept could be fun, but there were just way too many comics on my review pile already.

How Moana Should Have Ended
Finally, a short, sweet and to-the-point How It Should Have Ended! I don’t know what drives the men and women behind these nifty Internet shorts, but I assume their Batman/Superman cafe bits are really popular? Not to me! Give me a clever alternate ending to a movie, like your name implies!
That’s definitely clever and funny. Good job fulfilling your one job, guys! Moana was a little weird. Also, both of the animal sidekicks were dumb.
