Let’s Kill Some Time Until Spider-Man

Apparently, the first trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home has leaked online in various bootleg versions. I haven’t seen it, nor do I want to see it. I’m more than willing to have patience because word on the internet streets is that the actual, full trailer is going to release tonight during some special Sony presentation. So I’ll likely post it tomorrow!

While we wait, how about some Honest Trailers? They’re always fun!

And I was right, they were fun! Honest Trailers are always good for some time killing, and these worked excellently. They really nailed Loki and The Suicide Squad. And in a couple of months, I’ll be able to do an Honest Trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home. So it really all exists full circle.

Now we simply sit back and wait for the real No Way Home trailer to arrive…

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 8/21/21

We’re two weeks away from Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Feels good to be super excited about another Marvel movie! Good thing we have plenty of interesting comics to get us through this, like Power Rangers, Nightwing and the start of the Trial of Magneto!

Comic Book of the Week goes to a truly epic Way of X #5. I already loved this book for the philosophy, and then this issue goes and delivers some truly out-of-this-world action!

It has been said

Meanwhile, I had a pretty busy week and wasn’t able to get around to all of my normal comic reviews. After two weeks of nearly bare pull lists, this week had a ton of comics! I had to skip out on Marauders, Iron Man and Supergirl this week, but I hope to get caught up and review their next issues.

Comic Reviews: Nightwing #83, Power Rangers #10, Superman and the Authority #2, Way of X #5, X-Corp #4 and X-Men: The Trial of Magneto #1.

Couple Fun Cartoons Coming Up

As is usually the case, the world of entertainment continues to churn out new shows for us to absorb and enjoy. It’s just the way the wheel turns. And we got a couple of fun trailers for said entertainments this week!

Like Star Wars: Visions, which looks like the good people at Star Wars hired a bunch of anime pros and told them to go nuts.

This looks gorgeous! A wonderful blend of Star Wars and anime and looks like it’s going to explore all sorts of corners of the Star Wars universe. Sounds great to me! I look forward to this one going really wild. Star Wars: Visions is coming to Disney+ on Sept. 22.

Next up, we’re getting an even newer He-Man cartoon!

Apparently, Masters of the Universe: Revelation wasn’t enough for Netflix and they had this whole other He-Man cartoon in the works as well. This one is CGI and seems more geared towards younger audiences.

Looks pretty OK to me. I’m still waiting for something to do with He-Man what was done with She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. Perhaps He-Man and the Masters of the Universe will finally be it! Even though it’s still not just a straight forward He-Man revival cartoon, which is what I’m pretty sure most fans want. Oh well.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe arrives on Netflix on Sept. 16.

Let’s Take a Big, Long Look at the Eternals This Time!

A new trailer for Eternals has arrived and it’s pretty crazy. This one really dives deep into what these characters can do and what they’re all about. And it’s all big and cosmic and crazy, with monsters and powers and explanations.

Personally, I don’t need every facet of this movie to explain why they didn’t help against Thanos. But then I’m not one of those people who demands to know why the other Avengers don’t lend a hand in the various solo movies. Just watch the dang film in front of you. Do you help out every single time every one of your friends needs help moving?

Anyway, this looks solid. Part of me is worried that it’s still too big and too crazy to land with audiences. And this trailer does a lot to reference other parts of the Marvel Universe, which makes me think Disney is a little worried as well. It’s like they feel the need to reinforce it’s connections to the MCU to make sure people see it.

I guess we’ll find out when Eternals arrives in theaters on Nov. 5!

6 Reasons Why I Love Robin

I love Robin the Boy Wonder. He/She is one of my all-time favorite comic book characters, and a character I will defend to the death if need be. My personal favorite Robin is Tim Drake, but I like the mantle of Robin more than I like any specific individual who has worn the mask. Robin is simply an awesome comic book character. And because there has been a whole heck of a lot of Robin news lately, I wanted to celebrate with this week’s List of Six.

He’s just plain cool

Robin is getting a couple new comics in November. Tim Drake just came out as likely bisexual, and that made national news. Robin is going to appear in the Batman ’89 comic, finally giving those Tim Burton movies a Robin. Various Robins are the stars of the Titans TV show, which just started its third season. There’s currently a “Robin” comic starring Damian Wayne, who is maybe transitioning away from the role? Suffice to say, there is a lot of Robin stuff happening these days and it feels good to be a Robin fan. But why am I such a devoted Robin fan?

Join me after the jump to find out!
