Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 3/19/22
Life and love keep ever moving forward, and I’m back from my trip in good spirits. Unfortunately, this was a pretty weak week for comics! Almost nothing on my usual buy pile came out, so I’ve really only got reviews for Nightwing and Power Rangers.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Nightwing #90 as the magic continues. Tom Taylor can do very little wrong on this series, apparently.
Meanwhile, I’ve started playing Horizon Forbidden West and it’s fun. I haven’t had too much time to delve into it just yet, but it should be more fun once the world really opens up. I finished Reacher on Amazon Prime and it was good, though the ending was a bit disappointing. I loved Turning Red on Disney+ and now I’m checking out the new season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. As you can see, I keep busy.
Comic Reviews: Nightwing #90 and Power Rangers #17.

In the end, I’m probably gonna buy and play Hogwarts Legacy. I love open world RPGs, I love create-a-character stuff and I still love the Wizarding World. It may have all been created by a terrible TERF, but being able to create my own wizard and send them wandering around a fully realized Hogwarts? This is gonna be too good to pass up.
Playstation and the game developers released this huge look at the game yesterday and every single thing in this video is exactly what I want to hear.
Create-a-character looks great. We’ve got a ton of outfit choices as well. I’m shocked that the game will diverge on which house you get to join, that’s insane. Are there going to be four different games? Surely the game changes depending on your House, right?! The wand fighting looks cool and fluid. The world looks huge and open worldy. The classroom stuff looks straight out of Bully, which is exactly what I want.
This game looks great and now I’m very excited to play. This is gonna be a helluva year for video games! Hogwarts Legacy is due out at the end of the year, but there’s a good chance it’ll get delayed — which I have no problem with! We’ve waited this long, I’m more than willing to keep waiting if they need to make the game more perfect.

The First Ms. Marvel Trailer Looks Great!
I am very excited for the Ms. Marvel TV show. I love the character, I have full faith in Marvel Studios, and sometimes we do get to have nice things. The first trailer arrived earlier this week and I’m finally sharing it!
I think this looks great! It looks fun, it looks joyous, it looks youthful; I really think this show is going to do right by Kamala Khan. I’m a little disappointed that they changed her powers, but to be honest, I never really dug her stretching powers in the first place. So I have faith in the showrunners making good hay out of the changes. And new actor Iman Vellani seems perfect in the role.
Did you see her thanks video after the trailer came out? Adorable!
Very hyped and excited for this show! Ms. Marvel comes to Disney+ on June 8!

6 Things I Want to See in a Knuckles TV Show
We’re going to get a live action TV show starring Knuckles the Echidna. I’m still trying to wrap my head around this one. I don’t know whether to just sit back and be gleeful about this development or question my sanity that we live in a world where this will happen. Either way, I have demands.
I am a big fan of Knuckles. I can still vividly remember my childhood fandom, where my weird love of Australian marsupials crossed with my love of video games. I wasn’t allowed to have games as a kid, and that only nurtured my desperate desire to play Sonic the Hedgehog games. When I learned in a pre-internet world that there’d be a new Sonic critter based on an echidna, childhood Sean’s imagination went wild. And when Knuckles finally did show up, he was everything I could have wanted and more.
I’m already beside myself at all these Sonic 2 movie trailers showing Idris Elba’s Knuckles in all his glory. It’s going to be so weird to tune into a weekly TV show starring the character. Join me after the jump for my hopes and dreams for this Knuckles show.

A live action Sonic the Hedgehog movie is a surefire franchise now. Multiple movies, an upcoming spin-off TV show; Hollywood has grabbed the meager success of the first movie and they’re running with it into pure madness. Despite this success, they hired a pretty terrible trailer-making company.
That movie trailer stank. It was all over the place, full of nonsense, and not particularly catchy. But then I don’t imagine the movie is going to be all that special. It does feature a live action Knuckles voiced by Idris Elba, though, so I’m torn. Will my obscure love for this random — and awesome! — video game character carry me through this sequel? We’ll find out soon enough!
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 comes to theaters on April 8!
