The X-Corp Comic is Finally Coming!
I have been waiting for this comic since the start of Dawn of X! It’s X-Corp! Writer Tini Howard is going to use Angel, Monet and — l’gasp! — Multiple Man to explore the business side of Krakoa! This comic has been promised for a long time, and now Marvel has finally made an official announcement! X-Corp arrives in May!
Marvel had this to say to sum up the series:
The deals have been made. Mutantkind is safe on Krakoa. As the Reign of X continues, what are the wants of the mutants who have everything? Leading the charge is X-CORPORATION, headed by CXOs Monet St. Croix and Warren Worthington, a duo as cutthroat and ruthless in the boardroom as they are on a battlefield. But X-Corp needs more than just its figureheads. As Monet sets out to staff their team with some of the brightest and most deviant minds in mutantkind, Warren finds himself in a tense confrontation with one of Krakoa’s first allies who wants to know the truth: on Angel’s wings, will X-Corp crash or soar?
Tini Howard mentions in the article that the book kept getting pushed back, especially with her working on X of Swords. She says it’s gonna be worth the wait, and I believe her! Artwork will be by Alberto Foche, and you can see an upcoming page right here.
I don’t know about you, but does that look like Matt Rocks down in the corner?
Multiple Man has long been hinted at as being a part of this series, and he joined Angel and Monet in that Empyre crossover that supposedly served as a precursor to X-Corp. And who better to join a business-minded comic than the Madrox dupe that went off to Los Angeles to become a high-priced entertainment lawyer?
You don’t remember Matt Rocks? He was a supporting character in one of Charles Soule’s She-Hulk comics, circa 2014! That would be a fun cameo! And hopefully regular Jamie Madrox gets to join in as well.
I am very excited for X-Corp and very excited to finally see Multiple Man with a reoccurring role in the Krakoa-era!

Hench-Sized Comic Book Reviews – 1/30/21
New week, new comics, the same slowly churning stillness of our reality! But don’t let quarantine or coronavirus get you down too much, there’s still…good comics to read! Like more Future State! And a new issue of X-Men! Have you voted for the new team member yet?
Comic Book of the Week goes to Strange Academy #7! I dropped this series for a couple of issues, but the lack of titles this week led me to get caught up, and I’m so glad I did! This issue had a lot of great moments.
Meanwhile, I finished the first season of Ted Lasso and I am in love! That is a great show! Worth blowing your Apple TV free sample — though more seasons are expected. WandaVision remains great. And I’m currently playing Watch Dogs Legion. So life is pretty good for me!
Also, in case you miss it, I’ve decided to take an issue off of reviewing Strange Adventures. The issue is fine, but I don’t know what we’re going to really get until the big finale. Perhaps I’ll pick it back up there.
Comic Reviews: Future State: Dark Detective #2, Future State: Legion of Super-Heroes #1, Strange Academy #7 and X-Men #17.

The polls are open! For the next week, comic book fans can head over to Marvel.com to vote on a new member of the X-Men! The idea was introduced in the latest issue of Jonathan Hickman’s X-Men comic: the team is going democratic. The residents of Krakoa will vote for who they want on the X-Men lineup. And to sweeten the pot, Mavel is having the fans vote for one of those members. I love this idea!
I absolutely love the idea of making the main X-Men team lineup dependent on a vote — both in-story and for the fans. This, along with Nightcrawler forming a mutant religion, is exactly the sort of strange and new idea I wanted to see in Dawn of X. You can keep your interdimensional swordfights and your ancient Apocalypse children, give me neat new infrastructure quandaries for how X-Men teams are formed! I’ve long been annoyed by what I call the X-Men Assembly Line for team rosters. This new idea is the bee’s knees!
If you go vote at Marvel.com, there’s a list of choices to choose from: Banshee, Polaris, Forge, Boom-Boom, Tempo, Cannonball, Sunsport, Strong Guy, Marrow and Armor. Longtime readers of this blog will know that I immediately voted for Strong Guy! But seeing as how I’m a rather opinionated fellow, I have a couple of suggestions for write-in candidates.
Join me after the jump for six(ish) characters that I think deserve a spot on the main X-Men team and a chance to get more character exploration in the new status quo!

We’ve got another giant pile of comic book reviews this week because I’m still dipping my toes into DC’s Future State. Some of the comics are good…most of the stories are pretty bland, if I’m being honest. But hey! New comics! Including plenty from Marvel.
Comic Book of the Week goes to Mighty Morphin #3 as it continues to be such a damn fine comic book! The drama just doesn’t stop!
Meanwhile, how about those first two episodes of WandaVision? They were pretty great! I wish I had the patience to wait for the entire show to drop, because those two episodes were clearly the tip of an iceberg, but I’m sure I’ll be fine waiting for each new episode week-to-week. It’s old-fashioned!
Comic Reviews: Marauders #17, Mighty Morphin #3, S.W.O.R.D. #2, The Union #2, Future State: Dark Detective #1, Future State: Green Lantern #1, Future State: Justice League #1 and Future State: Robin Eternal #1.
