Eyes of Wakanda Comes Out on Friday!

We knew the new Eyes of Wakanda cartoon was coming…but did we know that the entire 4-episode series will come out this Friday?! That’s soon! I can’t wait to watch this weekend!

Especially since we’re going to get an Iron Fist in this show! Wowzers! That’s pretty fun. I think Eyes of Wakanda is going to be about the history of Wakanda’s secret spies, traveling the world to collect Vibranium. I think it might also involve traveling dimensions? I don’t like that part. Just show us historic Wakanda in the main timeline. But I guess we’ll see what actually happens this weekend.

Eyes of Wakanda comes to Disney+ on Friday, Aug. 1!

Some of the Sweet Comic-Con Trailers

San Diego Comic-Con is in full swing this weekend and we’ve got a bunch of nifty trailers to share! Nothing as big as a new Marvel movie or DCU film, but we’ve got some TV shows and smaller flicks, so it all works out nicely, I think.

We do have one DC show, at least. Peacemaker season 2 starts next month and we got a newer, fuller trailer.

Obviously I can’t wait for season 2, so awesome there. Everything looks like it’s gonna be a ton of fun and we’ll see what sorts of shenanigans we get this time around. Me, personally, I don’t need an onscreen explanation for the differences in the DC movie universes, but we’ll see what happens.

Peacemaker returns to HBO Max on Aug. 21.

Next up is a trailer for Starfleet Academy, the next Star Trek show. It’s basically a boarding school show set in the Star Trek universe.

If I understand this probably — and I don’t fully — I think this takes place in the far, far future. Something about Star Trek: Discovery going into the future and I guess now they’ve established a new academy? I don’t know. I didn’t watch the last two seasons of Discovery. But maybe this will be a fun, clean slate start for a new show.

Starfleet Academy comes to Paramount+ early next year.

Speaking of spin-off TV shows, the second season of Gen V in the Boys universe is also on its way.

I like The Boys just fine and can’t wait for the final season. I also really enjoyed the first season of Gen V, so I’m definitely looking forward to a second season. There’s probably a very good chance that it’s going to be fun.

Gen V returns to Amazon on Sept. 17.

Lastly, but not leastly, is a trailer for Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, because the world doesn’t stop.

I watched Spinal Tap many years ago, once I was an adult, and it was good, I’m sure. That they went and made a sequel before they all die? Fine by me! I did just watch and enjoy Happy Gilmore 2, so who am I to debate the existence of Spinal Tap II? Exactly!

Spinal Tap II is coming to theaters on Sept. 12.

Will this darn week ever end? Maybe with some trailers

Man, this week. I’ve had a busy year and summer already, but this week takes the cake! But I’ve mostly made it through, and finally have something to post and share! Trailers! Movie and TV show trailers! I love trailers, I love having new things to watch, and I love sharing them with you lovely people who read this blog still.

First up is the first look at Mortal Kombat II, the sequel to that mostly bland Mortal Kombat movie from a few years ago.

All I can mostly say is…they seem to be leaning into the Mortal Kombat of it all just like the original Mortal Kombat sequel, Annihilation. That would be pretty wild. Mostly, I’m excited that they’ve brought back actor Josh Lawson as Kano. He was the only good character from the first film, and it was a damn travesty that they killed him off. Let us hope he has a big role in this sequel.

Mortal Kombat II comes to theaters on Oct. 24.

Next up is Tron: Ares, a movie I don’t care about, but looks very good.

I’ve never cared about the Tron franchise, and I don’t have any particular interest or anticipation for Tron: Ares. But some people might, so I’m sharing. And, honestly, that trailer looks fascinating. I love the visuals. I love the computery Tron stuff placed up against a real world city. So I might actually watch this in theaters.

Tron: Ares comes to theaters on Oct. 10.

How about Hoppers, the next Pixar film.

I haven’t seen Elio, but I probably will when it comes to Disney+. Pixar just isn’t the same. And, while Hoppers doesn’t strike any particular chord, I did like the idea of a human confronting the starkness of the animal kingdom. So that’s neat, at least.

Hoppers comes to theaters on March 6.

Lastly, a TV show trailer for Alien: Earth.

I’ve never been a big fan of the Alien franchise. I just don’t care for horror. But I’ll watch a prestige TV show when it’s good. And hopefully Alien: Earth will be good! I’ve got high hopes and can make room in my schedule.

Alien: Earth comes to FX and Hulu on Aug. 12, which is pretty darn soon.

I’m Still Into Stranger Things

It’s been a whole week since I last posted, and for that I’m sorry. That might be the longest I’ve ever gone without posting something on this silly little blog of mine. But let me tell you, it’s been a busy damn week. And with no obvious easy posts, until this trailer. I just couldn’t find the time to write my Superman review. It’s still coming. Maybe next week.

Anyway, we got a new Stranger Things trailer yesterday, so that’s something!

I’m still into Stranger Things. I’ve simply come to accept that TV shows take years between seasons. It sucks, but that’s life. And I’ve enjoyed every season of Stranger Things. I’ve got no doubt they’ll nail the landing and we’ll all have a lot of fun.

The new season starts off around Thanksgiving, then continues on Christmas and we get a big finale on New Year’s Eve and/or Day.

Season 2 TV Trailer Thursday!

I don’t know about you, but there’s so much new TV coming out that I’m losing track. There’s a fourth season of The Bear to watch. A new season of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia just started up. And there are more new shows and new seasons coming right around the corner! In fact, I’ve got trailers for two shows I’m looking forward to watching.

First up is a proper trailer for the second season of Wednesday. I enjoyed the first season well enough.

Looks solid. Looks to have a good plot. I hope that monster boy returns. He was my favorite character in the first season. And you know who I want to see? Joel Glicker, the nerdy kid Wednesday hooked up with in Addams Family Values, played by David Krumholtz. This is a show that’s more than willing to play the nostalgia card, and he’s some kind of canon to Addams lore. Why not have that character show up in the new show? Wednesday needs to love interests!

The first half of Wednesday will come out on Aug. 6, and the second half will come out on Sept. 3, because Netflix still can’t pull the trigger on weekly releases.

Next up is a full trailer for the second season of Twisted Metal! The first season was a hoot and a half, and I can’t wait for more!

The first season of Twisted Metal was better than it had any right to be. They made a damn fun show based around the classic video game series, and it looks like season two is actually going to feature the vehicle combat battles! And it’s got Axel! We can see him in the trailer! How exciting.

Twisted Metal will come to Peacock starting on July 31.
