No Good Deed Goes UnPunished in Our First Full Look at Daredevil Season 2
The Punisher is here, people, and he’s on the verge of kicking Daredevil’s tight, red tuckus!
The trailer is pretty darn epic. We get our first teases of both Frank Castle and Elektra, and I like what I see so far. Punisher is a special character for me. There are few comics I hold in higher regard than Garth Ennis’ Punisher Max series. Some people read The Lord of the Rings or the Bible at least once every year, I read Ennis’ Punisher Max.
One of the major problems with bringing the Punisher to live action entertainment is the need to turn his origin story into one of revenge. Gangsters kill his family, and it makes perfect sense that he’d get revenge on those gangsters. But the Punisher is about so much more than getting revenge on that one group of gangsters.
He’s about punishing all criminals.
There are hints of revenge in this trailer, so maybe we’ll have to put up with that for now. Perhaps when he gets his own Netflix series he can do some proper punishing. For now, the trailer is a good look at season 2.
Another trailer will arrive on Feb. 25, and the full season will hit Netflix on March 18. We’re only a month away!

A Bunch of Simpsons Movie References, Most of Which I Never Got as a Kid
The Simpsons is chockful of movie references. Just straight to the very chock. And here’s a fun medley of a bunch of them!
We have Vimeo user cgmzz to thank for putting this together and posting it online. It’s a fun celebration, which is the best way to enjoy The Simpsons. And seeing as how I was a kid during the Golden Age, I’m pretty sure I didn’t understand even half of these at the time!

Ant-Man’s First Interaction with the MCU…in a Coke Commercial
I didn’t watch the Super Bowl, I didn’t see any of the commercials in real time. But it doesn’t matter, because this Coca Cola/Marvel commercial would have won hands down.
Ant-Man’s first interaction with the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is in a Coke commercial. This is not a criticism. We live in a world where Ant-Man and the Hulk can appear in full live action, with amazing special effects, in a TV commercial. They are part of the mainstream. This is normal, and it’s awesome.
Ant-Man and the freakin’ Hulk!

It’s Happening! Flash and Supergirl Will Crossover!
Announced today by all parties involved, The Flash TV show will crossover in March with the Supergirl TV show, even though they’re on different networks. Fortunately, they’re both executive produced by the same guys, Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg, and they somehow made this happen! Seeing as how the Arrow/Flash crossovers have been ratings bonanzas, the people at CBS were apparently willing to play ball.
This is great news!
Who knows what this will mean for continuity, but who the heck cares? We can iron out those details later! All that matters is that nerd love and general world awesomeness made this happen, and we’ll get to see more crossovers! I love these things. All the Arrow/Flash crossovers have been great. And there’s going to be legit excitement to see Supergirl meet the Flash. It’s that palpable, geeky energy that made The Avengers movie so much fun.
See, universe? We can have nice things.
Though now I’m going to have to go back and catch up on Supergirl…

The Flash’s Secret, Illegal Prison Has Gone Too Far
I don’t talk much about TV shows while they’re in progress, usually saving that for some end-of-season wrap-ups. But after the last two episodes of The Flash, I can’t stay silent any longer! The Flash and his allies, the supposed heroes of the show, are keeping a secret, illegal prison in their basement and holding multiple American citizens against their will with no due process at all.
This is nothing new. This has been the status quo since early in Season 1, when they captured their first metahuman and didn’t know what else to do with him. They panicked, came up with this prison idea, and have just been rolling with it. That’s bad enough.
But now they’ve gone too far. Join me after the jump! SPOILERS for the last few episodes of The Flash.
