A Whole Buncha Playstation 5 News and Trailers!
Sony held a big Playstation 5 event yesterday and revealed all sorts of information. First up, the actual console will be released in mid-November. The main console will be $500, while a version that ditches the disc drive and is digital only will be $400. Either way, I’m not buying a console at launch, so I’m not worried.
Beyond that news, we got a ton of new video game trailers and peeks!
The biggest news is that the Hogwarts Legacy game has finally been revealed! There was a short, blurry video leaked a couple years ago that alerted people to the game, but now we’ve got a full trailer! With gameplay!
Granted, JK Rowling is a pretty rotten person these days for her anti-trans opinions. She’s bad news. So this will be one of those situations where we have to decide for ourselves how willing we are to separate a work from the author. I don’t think Rowling had anything to do with this game, but she’s definitely going to make royalties off the license. So you’ll have to decide for yourselves.
Personally, I’m probably in. An epic RPG where you create your own wizard and send them through Hogwarts? All this needs to be is Bully from Rockstar set in the Wizarding World and it’ll be a masterpiece.
Next up, how about a gameplay trailer for the Spider-Man: Miles Morales game?!
Looks like an excellent amount of more Spidey gameplay to me! I think they could have found a better villain than the Tinkerer, but who am I to judge? This one should be really fun.
Want to know what’s also fun? Apparently both Hogwarts Legacy and Miles Morales will be available on the PS4, which I currently own. I won’t even need to buy a PS5!
Next up is a teaser for God of War: Ragnarok. The first reboot God of War game was a masterpiece, so I’m sure this sequel will be just as amazing, if not moreso.
Strange that they’re already going with Ragnarok for the second game. What’ll they call the third?
Lastly we have Final Fantasy 16! How exciting. It’s hard to even remember that the Final Fantasy series is still ongoing. I enjoyed FF15, so surely 16 will be fun!
Looks fun, at least. The graphics definitely look amazing. Might I need a PS5 for this one?
Anyway, that’s all the games that were revealed/teased yesterday that I care about! Some are coming to PS4 and that will be good enough for me. I’ll get a PS5 eventually. All of these games have me excited!

6 Things I Want to See in Spider-Man: Miles Morales
Last week, we got the news that Insomniac has made a new Spider-Man video game to star Miles Morales, due out at launch alongside the Playstation 5 later this year. Their Spider-Man game from 2018 was a masterpiece of web-swinging action, so anything they do with any web-slinger is good news! And, obviously, I have requests!
There has been some back-and-forth since the announcement of Spider-Man: Miles Morales as to what the game is, exactly. Some people have said it’s going to just be a remastered and enhanced version of the 2018 game with some new Miles content. Some people have said it’s a stand alone game that makes use of the previous game’s architecture, while not being a full-on sequel. And in the end, we don’t yet fully know who to believe.
But that’s not going to stop me from throwing off my list of things I’d like to see show up in Spider-Man: Miles Morales!

The Sony Playstation 5 is apparently right around the corner and a sequel to that amazing Spider-Man game is going to be one of the launch titles! And it’s going to star Miles Morales! And there’s a teaser trailer right now!
Great! Awesome! Can’t wait! Granted, I’m probably not going to buy a PS5 at launch, but this is so cool! The first Spider-Man game was a masterpiece of greatness, and I can only imagine the sequel will be even better and bigger and cooler! And having Miles as the main character offers up so much potential! New powers, new struggles, new supporting characters, new villains and hopefully a grand new story just as awesome and impactful as the last one.
And all of this is supposed to come out by the end of the year! Fancy that!

Kurt Busiek is Just Gonna Go Hog Wild with The Marvels!
Kurt Busiek is probably one of the best comic book writers and world-builders of all time. He’s the mastermind behind Astro City, a masterpiece of superhero comic storytelling that I highly recommend. Now he’s coming back to Marvel comics to do a big “anyone, anywhere, any time” adventure that spans decades!
Behold The Marvels!
Specific details on the story are scarce, but Busiek had a lot to say in an interview at Marvel.com. He’s going to use big heroes and obscure heroes, he’s going to tell big stories and small stories. He’s going to look at these characters as people and he’s going to span from the past to the far future.
He’s just going to go big and have fun, and I love that idea!
Busiek is also responsible for Marvels back in 1994, another masterpiece of comic book storytelling that focused on the classic Marvel heroes. Honestly, the guy is a legend, and letting him play in the entire Marvel toybox for whatever insane story he has in mind sounds glorious to me!

The Morbius Movie Actually Exists!
So much for basic human doubt! Those mad lads at Sony have actually gone through with the impossible! They’ve made an actual Morbius movie! My mind can barely wrap around the very concept of this movie. Morbius?! Really?!
Yep, that’s definitely a Morbius movie. They say his name and everything. And the title is Morbius! The movie doesn’t look good. Honestly, it looks good up until they start getting into the superhero stuff. The idea that a scientist turns to homemade vampirism to cure his incurable disease is kind of interesting…but then it transitions into just another superhero movie. Word has it that the villain is just going to be another dude who takes the same serum and gets the same powers, and Morbius realizes he has to use his identical powers to stop him.
That’s boring! But such will be the Morbius movie when it comes out on July 31!
Oh, and hey, did you catch the Michael Keaton cameo at the end? Personally, I thought it was just a callback to his role as Batman, seeing how much Morbius is some kind of “bat-man”. But then I was reminded that he played the Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming, another Spidey villain. That could be a very interesting crossover. Very interesting indeed!
Far more interesting than a Morbius movie.
